Constraction reviews in Kansas City, Missouri

My wife and I recently used Apex to replace about 10 windows this Spring even though we weren't originally in the market for new windows and I have to say that we've been extremely pleased with our Apex experience. I know that a few of the negative reviews on here mention poor communication, or damage to windows which originally made us hesitant, but that wasn't our experience at all. Our sales rep RJ was incredibly professional and quick to respond to any/all of our questions and concerns. All Apex employees who visited the house as part of this project were friendly and willing to answer all of our questions in a way that made sense to someone not well-versed in the window industry. The windows even came in about a month and half ahead of schedule, which was fantastic. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend Apex to anyone looking for new windows.

We used Apex Energy Solutions when we needed new windows in our newly bought home. The team was nothing but pleasant, informative and thorough throughout the whole process. Installation was incredibly efficient and 17 windows were placed in less than 2 days. The curb appeal is amazing and the windows are so much better at keeping the cold out and the cool in than our old windows! We still have about 13 to replace and we will definitely be using Apex Energy Solutions to finish the project!

So easy to work with, and received constant communication from the very first inquiry through installation and even after. Everyone was great to work with and the windows are such a huge upgrade in efficiency and they look amazing.

We recently had 12 windows original windows replaced on our 21 year old home that were literally about to fall out. We could not be happier with the professionalism, efficiency of the team and improvement of the windows! The pricing was unbeatable, cheaper than any other window company we found around Kansas City. When replacing the windows, they took care of the wood-rot on the outside of the house which was a relief for us! When installation was finished, there were a couple items we wanted re-adjusted and they came out within a week to address and rework them all without hesitation. Great team, great windows! Gave a much-needed "face-life" to the look of our home!

I strongly satisfied with their professional work. My house looks phenomenal with the new windows. Very reasonable price and highly recommended.

They significantly damaged a window frame and have not replaced nor completed a repair in nearly one year…Lead installer unprofessional and rude. We were not informed that custom blinds and draperies would no longer fit after the new windows were installed which cost thousands to correct. They claimed that’s “normal’ which is not according to 2 other companies. Windows installed nearly one year ago and significant damage to window frame not repaired They expect us to do half the repair work. They have not replaced 3 screens installed with holes in them.

Entire process from the first meeting to final ordering and installation was smooth and easy. Windows arrived 8-10 weeks after ordering and only took two days to install 25 windows. Brandon Oehm was our contact guy and was very flexible with scheduling meetings and answered all our questions. We had no issues with mismeasurement or anything through the installation process. Would highly recommend them.

Charlie, our Rep, is excellent! He explained everything clearly and we were sold. Great company! Outstanding windows!

Our original home windows were about 28 years old. Several windows on the front of our house had failed leaking out Argon-gas resulting in foggy windows. Our sales representative did an excellent job explaining the benefits and features of Apex Windows.
Final and exact measurements were done by very competent employee (Patrick). We upgraded to the Krypton-gas with improved efficiency compared to Argon. Krypton is a better insulator and R-value.
Apex windows are awesome! They are somewhat expensive, however they are TRIPLE pane, with the high quality exceeded our expectations. The good thing is all windows are “custom made” in Ohio.
The installation team (lead by Story F.) waited until a nice day on in early March to do the install, which took about two days. The interior trim and exterior coil aluminum wrap was very nicely. One new window was damaged (but functional) in shipment, and warranty replacement was completed in about 6-weeks. The owner of Apex (Jay) is good about follow up and making sure we were perfectly satisfied. Apex windows are top notch, and we hope to do the rest of our house someday soon. -
Our home had original windows that were 40 years old and were poorly maintained over the last several years before we bought the home. We started Phase 1 in January 2022 with 12 window replacements (all front windows and 3 floor to ceiling windows that were in BAD BAD shape). The process from working with Brandin the moment he knocked on our door to Patrick coming for measurements, and the team coming to install was very easy. Everyone was great to work with and you can tell the entire company takes pride in their high level of customer service. Two years later....life happens, you get in a groove and just forget there are 5 more windows that need to be replaced. Brandin calls us to check in and to see if we are still interested and what our timeline is. He was NEVER pushy for us to finish Phase 2 but his call was greatly appreciated because we are finally getting the rest done this spring!
Apex (and Brandin and Patrick) were so great that I even had them replace the windows for my mom's house. Patrick was wonderful and made sure the install was smooth. Especially since she had to have some oddly shaped and sized custom windows made. Her windows look great and I felt confident with Apex working on her home, never once worried that someone was taking advantage of an older customer. Thank you again Apex!! -
Charlie Rinehart and team helped make this an easy home upgrade! The Insignia windows by Apex look amazing and the installation process was smooth. A+ service and quality all around!

We love our new windows! The team did a great job with installation and clean up . They were very thorough with the final inspection and even found a defect that they brought to our attention . They ordered a replacement part and came back out 8 weeks later to replace the door with the defect. Thank you Apex for a great experience!

Trey helped us with the recent window replacements. The new windows look fantastic. We were glad we went with Apex. The three layer windows definitely saved us some utility bill. The installment crew are very professional and they did a great job clean up after the installment. We would definitely come back to Apex if our family/friends have any windows replacement in the future!

APEX did a terrific job. Easy to use, high quality windows were delivered as promised. Charlie was knowledgeable and responsive. Installers David and Matt were efficient and professional. Highest recommendation!

The overall window installation was average, but we encountered several significant issues that were never properly resolved. Three of the windows had problems, most notably, the installers removed the metal flashing from the trim above and said it did not need to replaced. One window even developed a water leak underneath.
It took months just to get someone to come back and inspect the issue. When they finally did, they claimed they'd return in warmer weather to evaluate it further. Unfortunately, they never came back.
If you're considering this company, be aware that while the initial work might be passable, their customer service and follow-up are severely lacking. If something goes wrong, don't expect timely support—or any resolution at all. I have since resolved the issue myself.
Comments to response from owner:
I’m extremely disappointed with the window installation and the lack of accountability from this company. From the very beginning, it was understood that window sizes and framed openings would be adjusted—this was communicated clearly and confirmed by both the salesperson and Pat, who assured me it wouldn't be an issue. The size of the framed opening was changed by moving up the bottom and shortening the window. No changes were made by me above the window.
However, during installation, your crew removed the existing flashing and trim above the windows and failed to reinstall them properly. Like you state, “like the one in question it was due to the walls around the opening or based upon another factor above the window which we pointed out once we were finally given a time to come and inspect the windows.” I could not agree more, the issue is changes your company made above the window.
When Pat finally inspected the work, he acknowledged issues with the installation. After Pat inspected and agreed that there was an installation issue you were very quick to email my wife and ask her to remove any negative reviews and promised that you would be back to fix the issue. That was 6 months ago.
This experience reflects poor communication, subpar installation practices, and a clear lack of follow-through. I would not recommend this company based on how my project was handled. -
Just finished Phase 1 of our Apex windows. They look amazing—very high quality. Everyone that we worked with was very knowledgeable and efficient. Joe and the install crew completed the job in record time. Thank you.

Updated! Step two went great also. Pat came out for exact measurements and was able to answer all our questions. Very professional and mostly importantly knowledgeable. So far so great. We have been very happy working with Charlie during the early stages of the window replacement process. He is fun, helpful, and honest. We look forward with the next steps as we move toward the window replacement install.

Review of sales call and quote only: Me-picky engineer who has replaced many windows myself. Salesman -Jon, an Army vet with fascinating experience. Jon knocked on my door and I invited him back since I had some interest and high and low quotes to compare with. The good: sturdy triple pane double hung virgin vinyl windows with argon and low-e glass (not coated), with many color options and the option of wood grain imprint. Integrated sill and beveled frame on the outside = nicer looking, more curb appeal. The windows are definitely higher quality and sturdier than average. Lifetime warranty that is transferable. Aluminum trim wrap in many colors. Company install crews (not subcontracted), trained and certified. Install uses quality low expansion foam and Quad brand caulk (not the cheap stuff.) They will do minor repairs if the wood in the window opening is not sound. Quoted price was fair, approximately 30% more than my neighbor’s two pane windows, but 40% less than the crazy quote I got from the company that shall not be named but starts with An…. The bad: They are following industry standards for aluminum wrapping replacement pocket windows without flashing the opening before install. As someone who is very picky and has done the job myself, personally I would prefer that they flash the opening, make sure the metal flashing at the top is tucked under my wood siding, and use a hard sill pan, or fab an aluminum sill pan before they sit the window in place, then use flashing tape up the sides of the opening. Likely you’ll be fine, but there is too much reliance on that outer caulk line to keep water from getting behind the aluminum wrap. Minus one star for that, but I doubt you’ll find a bulk installer that will do it my way. Bottom line: If you’re looking for sturdy windows with a lifetime warranty, I’d say give these guys a serious look.

We had Apex replace all of our windows 10+ years ago and experienced no problems. Charlie stopped by to check to see how everything was going. We have experienced no problems over the years and appreciate that all of the hardware continues to function normally. I recommend checking with Apex if you are considering window replacement.

Super happy with my new Apex window. I had Apex windows installed about a decade ago and during a recent bathroom remodel I wanted to add one more. I was able to work with Apex to get a singular window installed to match the exact same windows (and trim) I had installed 10 years previously. They were so fast and kind and patient. Definitely recommend!

We just finished round 3 of our Apex window replacement, and I must say, it went just as perfectly as the previous two! Hands down, the team at Apex are easily some of the most professional, reliable, friendliest, talented, and all around greatest folks we've ever had the pleasure of working with.
From start to finish, our sales manager Jon patiently walked us through every step (often anticipating our needs before we even realized we had them). He did a phenomenal job keeping track of all the little details and making sure everyone was always on the same page.
Patrick was also extremely helpful, friendly, and a downright pleasure to work with. He helped us troubleshoot a few stickier situations regarding some of the pre-existing framework, and his ideas worked perfectly!
Lastly, but certainly not least, David and his install team knocked it out of the park with their beyond impressive speed and skill on installation day. They finished (flawlessly) in roughly half the time we thought it would take, and in the rain no less!
A+ work from everyone involved - we couldn't be happier with our Apex windows and team, and look forward to the next round! If you're in the market for some high quality, affordable, and energy efficient windows - you've found your company!
