HVAC reviews in Springfield, Missouri

We had a pretty big job done a couple months ago. Everything new, furnace, A/C unit, all new ducking, added vents, a added return and the impossible addition room. This addition room fairly big size, and has such a small crawl space an called for two vents, how he got under there and got it done perfectly was a shock! We even had another company telling us they wasn't going to comment to that job but they could do the rest of what we needed. We are very pleased we chose John's, they had a four day job with us, did amazing, stuck to everything they explained in the beginning, was pleasant to have around, and the price was very good compared to other quotes we had. One other thing to add after the job was done. A few days later we had one small issue under the house on a Sunday, we called, and Greg came within that hour of calling. Problem fixed, was no big deal. Definitely a good choice for anything needed done by them!

Excellent service from the entire staff. Greg, Scott, Dave, Tony & Tim were all great and very informative. We were able to get our new a/c unit up and running very fast and before the extreme heat kicked in. We also had a new gas heating unit installed and we are extremely happy with the Amana Products! I would highly recommend John's Heating and Air to anyone needing HVAC services. Thank-you! Dave and Mary Kay

John's hvac has been my service go to for quite a few years so naturally when I needed to replace furnace and ac I called them . Not only did they do a fantastic job they went over and beyond as some carpentry work was also involved as well. Their techs fixed things I didn't know about and extremely pleasant to work with. THEY ARE THE BEST in Springfield and also reasonably priced. Shouldn't tell this as might be more difficult to get my name on the list next time I need them.

Awesome company. Great service techs. Do the work for the agreed upon price. No hidden charges. Very knowledgeable. Great attention to detail. Treat you like they are your best friend in the business. Would not hesitate to work with them again. Number one reason “They speak the truth.“

We highly recommend John’s Heating , worked with Daniel who is very knowledgeable and very honest person. The best technician in the industry! Thank you !

Great overall experience. Even though the unit was going to take a couple of weeks to get in, Greg made sure to have my old condenser recharged to get us cold air until the new one arrived. Even after the installation and I had already paid, Greg drove to my house to give me the rebate forms I’d need to get. He could have easily just put in the mail, but Greg saved the extra days and delivered it in person. It’s the little stuff like that, that makes you feel valued. And John’s Heating and Air does just that. I’d highly recommend them. Honest, good folks.

John's Heating and Air did a super job from start to finish. They installed a new heat pump and air handler system for us. To give us a quote, they evaluated everything thoroughly to determine proper load calculation and spent a good amount of time helping us determine what was best for our home. They promptly came out the day we called for the quote and were able to work us in for the install within a couple of days!
The technicians were friendly and knowledgeable and they were happy to answer all my questions. I was impressed with their professional work. They were reasonably priced and I would highly recommend them! -
Superheroes without the capes! I've used John's Heating and Air Conditioning for years and they are consistently fast, knowledgeable, professional, fair in their pricing, and honest. They even explain things I can easily do that will save me money in the long run, which I appreciate. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

WARNING: John’s Heating and Air is Under New Management
I have been a customer of John’s Heating and Air for 15+ years. The first time I called this year was for a furnace problem on 1/9/25. Dave came out, cleaned some parts, tested and charged me $90.00 for a SERVICE CALL.
Now I can’t get the A/C to cool the house below around 80. Rob showed up, hooked up gages and waved a hand over the vent. Stated A/C is fine, that will be $170.78. I also didn’t receive an invoice for the first time ever. When I actually received the invoice, they had charged a 3.5% Credit Card fee. I paid by check.
I called John’s to find out about the 90% jump in service call fee. Ligia informed me they NOW charge $90.00 to drive to your home and the minute equipment is touched, it’s $75.00 labor. I asked WHY the $90.00 is listed as a service call. In my opinion, no good answer. Just went in circles about the semantics between “service call” (listed on invoice) and “trip fee” (not listed on invoice or discussed at time of appointment).
Before I knew of the “New Management” I recommended John’s to a neighbor for his A/C last month. The tech came out, cut his finger, looked at the A/C for around 15 minutes. Stated he couldn’t do anything for it and that will be $165.00.
Update: The afternoon of Rob’s visit, my house was at 84 degrees. My husband and I watched some internet videos of BASIC A/C service. After we vacuumed and hosed out the condenser, the amount of yard clippings removed was amazing. Love Google. -
Our HVAC was installed by John’s Heating & Air in 2019 with the previous owner of our house. We bought our house in 2020. The inspection report didn’t note anything being wrong & as first-time homebuyers we didn’t know much to look out for. There are a lot of little things we’ve since noticed that were just done/installed poorly (like our refrigerant being slightly overcharged, no access being installed in the drain line so we could flush out clogs that may occur, blower motor being set to the wrong setting) but there was 1 HUGE thing they did wrong that cost us $1,700. They installed the refrigerant lines & condensate drain line in such a way that our water heater was completely blocked in. To be clear, the water heater was installed first, in 2015. We went to replace our water heater this year & found out we could not do it ourselves due to this. So we got quotes from several companies to remove our old water heater & install a new one & EVERY single company told us that they could not remove or install the new one without first rerouting the refrigerant & drain lines out of the way. Each company quoted us a few hundred dollars within $1,700 to do so - some higher, some lower. There was no getting around that bill if we wanted to get a new water heater. This is a BIG mistake for a company to make & honestly they should be liable but they won’t honor their warranty if the property is transferred to new homeowners after installation & I honestly don’t want them touching my stuff any further if this is the type of work they do. The issue is now fixed, $1,700 later, thanks to another company. They were able to use the same hole in the floor for the refrigerant lines but rerouted the lines around the door frame where the water heater is no longer blocked at all. They also moved the drain line. I’m not sure why John’s Heating didn’t do this in the first place. This is extreme negligence on their part at best. Do not hire them.

We called FTS for our spring maintenance. Trevor was very thorough and explained everything clearly. He took time to make sure our questions were answered.
-
Andrew was professional and friendly and answered all of my concerns. He explained what he was doing and seemed to genuinely care about my concerns and the smooth operation of our HVAC. Awesome all around!!
-
Courtesy. Professional. Was able to get our furnaces operating, even an old one that we were told wouldn’t work and had been partially disassembled by a different repair person over a year ago. Upstanding techs with this co. Thank you Andrew and Trevor for a job well done.
-
Technicians were courteous & professional...but company charged me $329 for a capacitor that only should cost $40--$60. Service/ diagnostic fee was separate ( on invoice). Called company to check with technician..as maybe he listed wrong repacement item on ticket...said no..it was correct. I called 3 other AC companies....all 3 told me that capacitor should only cost $30--$60 for that part. Hence...appears to me definitely a bit price gauging...charging customer $329 for a $40--$60 dollar part???

Trevor came out and was very knowledgeable friendly and helpful and very in depth with answering as many questions that my wife and I could come up with.

Cory arrived close to the scheduled time frame, even after being given the wrong house number. He called prior to arriving and again when the address given did not exist. That was our fault.
Very courteous and respectful. We had open communications and the matter has been addressed.
I have recommended that the hone owners consider contacting FTS for a quote to replace the entire system. -
Jay took his time and went thru 8 options to remedy our hvac woes. Very knowledgeable and informative. We appreciate all his time and expertise.

We've had a long, difficult ordeal the past year with an HVAC system we purchased to replace a 20+ year old system. To be fair, FTS has lately shown concern and perseverance in their efforts to resolve the problems. It will be some time before we can be sure, but we are hopeful they have fixed the issues and that the system is now operating properly.
