When I called, I spoke to Ross and I explained to him that there was a suspected gas leak. I was told at that time that there would be a $59 service call fee that would be waived if they performed any repairs. Billy got here and explained that there was a gas leak and that he'd need to do a bubble test which runs $353.82. In case your wondering what a bubble test is, it's where they spray soapy water on your gas lines and look for bubbles which indicates a gas leak. It was a lot to swallow, but I agreed to let him do that with his assurance that it includes fixing the leak. Bear in mind, the only reason I agreed to that crazy amount was because I thought my wife would have a greater peace of mind knowing that "a professional" did the work. But, the irony is that the word "professional" doesn't indicate a skill level. Rather, it's only defined as someone who does what they do as a profession instead of for a hobby. In other words, anyone who is paid for what they do is a professional, regardless of the quality of their work. I digress, Billy quickly found the leak coming from the shutoff valve in under 3 minutes. His "specialized tool" was a spray bottle with water and a little Dawn dish soap or the equivalent. He then proceeds to tell me that the valve would be an additional $283 because it wasn't a "simple repair" but instead involved replacing parts. Bear in mind, that the valve costs less than $25 almost everywhere. He offered to call the office to see if they would "work with me" to which they knocked the total down to $530-ish to replace the valve. I opted to reluctantly pay the $353.82 and bid Billy a nice day. Ross should have told me that there was an astronomical price to spray soapy water when I was agreeing to the service call. It would have saved us all some time and me a lot of money. This should be part of the diagnosis NOT a charge for service. Because a service charge results in something getting fixed. Billy fixed nothing. I should have been charged $59 for the nothing that got serviced, NOT $353.82. He was here for less than 30 minutes. If you want to use the company for whatever reason, MAKE SURE you have them tell you the ACTUAL price of a diagnosis before you agree to them coming out. My loss, your gain. Hopefully, I've saved someone the money and pain from working with this company. Granted, I'm a pretty capable person. So, if you don't know your way around plumbing, don't attempt fixing it yourself. Pay White Plumbing Co over $600 to change your valve or better yet, find a more reasonable plumber. However, for me, that evening I went to Menards and bought a gas shutoff valve, a 3 inch long 1/2" pipe and a roll of yellow silicone tape for gas, all for $11.18. Maybe 20 minutes and I had it fixed. I guess I paid $353.82 for a lesson learned and an embarrassing story. Hope you enjoyed it and learned something at my expense.

Affordable, quick and honest.
I was in a tough spot with an exterior faucet that wouldn't shut off in below-freezing temperatures, and their response time was so fast, I think they would have beaten emergency services to the scene.
​The technician, John, was great. He actually crawled under the house in 8 inches of snow to fix the problem, and the total cost was only about $105. For perspective, another company quoted me nearly $150 just to show up and tell me what was wrong.
​White Plumbing had great communication, explained the problem clearly, and showed real integrity. They could have easily tacked on emergency fees given the weather and the roads and the immediate response, but they remained honest and affordable.
I’ll be using them for every plumbing issue I have in the future, and recommending them any time I can.

Colton was absolutely AMAZING! He showed up so quick and was so polite. He fixed everything super fast and did an amazing job doing so. If we ever need services again we will be requesting Colton.

Colten nettles was our tech he showed up at exact time the appointment was scheduled. He communicated clearly and hit key points so that I could understand. We purchased a water softener and a filtration system. Clean and fully functioning once the job was completed. Very happy with the price, quality and professionalism!

Fast and friendly. They will keep you updated on everything from traveling time to job completion. I have had them out twice for different jobs, and will be calling for more in future. Jake H has great initiative and awareness. I am glad I called White and glad I had Jake to do the work.

Needed some work done on our basement sewer ejector pump. DeLong always offers prompt service. Allen was on time, professional, and did the work quickly. He attempted first to fix the issue before deciding to replace any parts. He gave a good run down of what was wrong, what had to be replaced, and he made sure I was informed of what not to do in order to keep the problem from happening again. DeLong is our "go-to" plumbing place in town, and I haven't had a bad experience with them yet.

I have had Delong Plumbing take care of about 5 plumbing problems we have had in the last 4 years . All of the plumbers they have sent us have been polite , respectful , friendly and very competent. Thanks to Allen R. and Austin A. for solving our last issue . They analyzed an ongoing issue that we had been having and got us on track to solve the problem . I have dealt with Allen for 3 times now and I am very happy about the work that he has done and his pleasant attitude even when the job isn’t very pleasant. Also the dispatcher did a great job of working our job in on short notice. Management appears to be setting the right priorities for their employees

Working in Springfield away from our hometown, needed a piece of 4inch rigid conduit cut and threaded, called a few places first and was told wouldn't or couldnt. Called DeLong and they said absolutely, bring it by. They cut and threaded it for us in a few minutes. Price was fair and the job was able to be completed on schedule. Highly recommended!

I just wanted to compliment an employee, Josh, who was on call last night. My pump had frozen and he gave me suggestions as to how thaw it, which worked. He told me to call back if it hadn’t thawed by 9. I’m sure he was awaken by my call, as it was before 6 a.m. and he was so nice and kind! Then he called back around 10 to check and make sure everything was working correctly.

Every time I have called the DeLong’s, whether it was for plumbing, air conditioning, or anything else I’ve called for, the professional who has come out to help me has always been so kind and informative. I just would recommend DeLong’s to anyone!

On April 18, 2024, Jayden cam to perform my semiannual HVAC maintenance. He discovered that additional work needed to be done on the blower to ensure reliable A/C over the summer. Today, June 12, 2024, Ethan came to work on the blower. He completed the task efficiently, with excellent skill and professionalism. I have worked with DeLong since 2007, and have always received excellent service; today was no exception. I am grateful to be their client.

We had Allen out for a pretty gnarly drain clog in out kitchen. He was beyond wonderful, professional and a pleasure to speak with. He was able to free up our clog initially. We did have Kyle out the next day to free up wvwn more of the clog - which is simply due to us having metal piping in an older home.

We will definitely have DeLong handle our large re-piping of our entire system in the near future. Nothing but awesome service and a decent price. So glad we chose DeLong over other local companies! We are a customer for life.

Can’t say enough good things about DeLong Plumbing and their repairman Kyle. I thought my On-Demand hot water heater was toast after a lightning strike. Kyle came out, diagnosed the problem, ordered a part, came back and fixed it right up. They do what they say they are gonna do. Get there when they say they are gonna get there and it even cost less than was originally expected. Will definitely use these guys again!

Excellent service to replace toilets, faucets, replace the entire water system in the house and clean sewer pipes to the street.

We just had a young man by the name of Evan out to do some repair work on a house we just purchased. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and personable. He was on time (even early) and took care of our problem in a very timely manner. He explained what he had done and answered all of my questions. The pricing was fair and reasonable. I would HIGHLY recommend DeLong for any plumbing needs.

We have used Delong several times for plumbing issues after hours. They are prompt and courteous. Allen helped us out this last time and we appreciated him coming to fix our issues. I have used DeLong since moving back to Missouri in 2016 several times and been satisfied with their service. However, that changed with my experience on 10/28/22 with a small water leak at a T joint in copper pipe that required working inside a run that included AC/heating ducts, electrical wires, sound system wires and water pipes. The first plumber arrived on time and looked at the leak through the hole I had cut in the ceiling. It was obvious pretty quickly that he didn't have a clue what to do. He advised that he couldn't do the repair and that it would require 2 people. Two people came on 11/2/22 as scheduled and one of stood around and watched and handed a few tools to the plumber who told me exactly how he would repair the leak. He proceeded to cut out the the joint back about 6 inches on each side and replaced the pipe and joint with PEC pipe and fittings. The helper did prepare the new pipe to put in but the plumber could have easily done this in 10 minutes. The repair was made satisfactorily and then the bill came. I was charged $433.20 for and hour and 15 minute leak repair that included $130.00 for the first plumber who did nothing except walk inside and look at the leaking joint, $112.50 for the helper who did nothing but watch and $150.00 for the plumber which I felt was fair for him. Don't think I'll be calling DeLong again.

I had a hard time finding this review and then a way to update it. I hope this works because I want to say that DeLong handled this situation in a most professional manner. Mr. DeLong contacted me and discussed how the misunderstanding happened and why. He then refunded the money for all the extra time and in the end I felt , as I always have, that the price and service was very reasonable. I will continue to use DeLong in the future. Thank you Mr. DeLong for the attention you pay to your customers and your service.

I have used DeLong for my plumbing issues for over 10 years. All their service technicians and office staff are great. Most recently, Evan has provided multiple bathroom plumbing repairs for us. He is an excellent plumber—professional, knowledgeable, timely, keeps the work area neat, and nice.

Outstanding professional service! Old houses built in small old communities can pose challenges. All I can state from my experience that Josh and Brent were highly trained and performed to meet the challenges and kept the project on track. Old towns with ceramic water pipes and a mismarked gas line did not stop this team from getting the old sewer line replace and left a better system for a very old house. Thank you. I appreciate everything you did. I highly recommend. I appreciate the honest assessment by Skot! Short term fixes are not a solution and never once did I feel pressured. Just the facts and you can make your own decision. Thank you again.

Delong was well priced. DeLong sent Josh and his team to repair our sewer mainline from our home. They arrived on time. Took great care not to damage the front yard more than necessary. The break was close to the home. The removed our flower bed, rock, and wall stones. They took the time and care to return that area to close the original state. Something they did not have to do. I would definitely work with DeLong and their team if Josh was involved.

DeLong has always been incredibly responsive to our needs. We use them for both plumbing and HVAC, both for emergency repairs and upgrades. Their team members are good at explaining what needs done and make realistic suggestions for repairs/improvements. We have recommended them in the past and look forward to recommending them anytime in the future.
