I have been using Controlled Comfort to service my furnace and heat-pump for about 27 years now. I recently had to have an entire new system installed. I was told by the salesman, Travis, that I would get a $700 Rebate from OPPD and a $212 Rebate from the local Sheet Metals Union. It has now been approximately 2 and a half months of waiting for those Rebates. After calls a month ago and today, I was told that the system that Controlled Comfort installed does not qualify for the OPPD Rebate, even though the salesman, Travis, assured me I would get that $700 rebate as part of his sells pitch. I'm still supposed to receive the $212 rebate from the Sheet Metals Union folks who don't seem to be interested in timely Rebates. Overall, I have been satisfied with my service from Controlled Comfort.

I was a little reluctant to believe the salesman, Travis, when he told me about the $700 Rebate, it seemed a bit like a con sells pitch. I would suggest you request a different salesperson. One other complaint I have is they added a charge of $800 dollars to the system to install a chimney vent. I believe Travis should have included that in the original sales pitch. We have been using the previous furnace without a chimney vent. $800 seemed excessive for that chimney vent for what they installed, and it did not take that long to do that installation - I understand the City Code might have required that now in an older house, but that was another expense that Travis should have included in the original sales.

Controlled Comfort was called to fix a gas leak in our basement. They came and left, claiming it was all fixed. However, the next time I went in that room 2 days later, I still smelled gas. So my husband called them again & they told us we would have to pay for the technician to come out again, even though they never fixed the problem to begin with.

We had Sustainable Mechanical come out instead. And they were WONDERFUL! They found 2 obvious leaks that Controlled Comfort missed on the manifold they claimed to have fixed. So an additional $200 later and it was finally fixed.

Don’t waste your money on a company who doesn’t stand by their work. What a liability!

IN RESPONSE TO THEIR REPLY: You didn’t do anything to resolve the issue! Your manager hung up on me. And you also refused to come back out to test for leaks & fix the problem you failed to fix the first time. Unless I wanted to pay, of course. 🙄

I lost the heat in my house on January 2nd. Controlled Comfort came out that day. Paul was awesome! He diagnosed my issue, got the parts needed to fix the problem and completed the job quickly. The cost was less than I anticipated, very reasonable. I highly recommend Controlled Comfort.

Hello all, I am writing this review hoping would help some one else:
I had Controlled Comfort come to service my unit. Initially, they claimed to have fixed the problem after multiple calls between the technician and the "boss." However, the issue wasn't resolved. They sent another technician to try and figure it out again. After another call to the boss, he came up with a very unreasonable explanation. The company refused to acknowledge that the first technician had made a mistake and instead suggested replacing the entire duct system.

Frustrated, I called a second company and, of course, had to pay another diagnosis fee. They fixed the issue in less than an hour, and the problem was very obvious. It’s incredibly disappointing that two young technicians from Controlled Comfort couldn’t figure it out. Very Saaad that the issue was so obvious.

Please be advised when using their services. While I’m sure they can handle basic repairs, I highly doubt they have the necessary expertise for real issues.

Controlled comfort came in and figured out how to cool our 100 year old house with poor ductwork. When our AC went out this summer, we knew finding a modern system with our old ductwork’s would be tricky.

They found the right systems and took the time to figure out the specific issues at home.

We loved working with our salesperson. And their team helped with every process along the way- finding the right equipment, install, fine tuning the system, troubleshooting issues, etc.

We will use them again if we ever need tk get an HVAC system again in the future!

Controlled Comfort is an amazing service. Tanner was our technician. He was very professional and walked us through different options. Very conscientious and knowledgeable. They are a five star company right here in Omaha.

Tech was very pleasant, but definitely was working on commission. Told me no leaks, but A coil was going bad. This is a furnace that was 3 years old and under warranty till 2031. Told me it needed to be replaced and to replace all my duck work. Air Conditioning quit the next day (heat pump was new last year). When he was out he put in 8 lbs of Freon. Came back out and said he couldn’t do anything until I replaced the A coil. I contacted a HVAC service person who came out and ran leak tests. A coil is perfectly fine with no leaks. Air conditioning is working perfect and is staying where it was set at 73.Seem like tech from Controlled Comfort was looking to just sell a new A coil and duck work. I used this company in the past, but won’t in the future.

We recently had a new heat pump system installed, and the entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. Paul, our estimator, went above and beyond in every way. His customer service was outstanding — not only was he knowledgeable and professional, but he also made a special trip back to help me connect the thermostat to our Wi-Fi. That kind of dedication is rare and truly appreciated!

The installation itself was seamless, and the service was both quick and top-notch. The team was efficient, respectful of our home, and clearly knew what they were doing. We’re already noticing a big difference in comfort, and we’re so glad we made the switch.

Highly recommend this company and especially Paul — you’ll be in excellent hands!

We moved here five years ago and Controlled Comfort was recommended by our realtor. We have been using them for spring and fall maintenance - they have been great! From the office and scheduling to the maintenance, they have provided the best customer service! This spring Paul came to provide the spring maintenance. He was awesome.!!

CC relocated an AC unit to the top of a 2 story building. This involved a crane, a lift, electrical work, building a base, and more. They lived up to their intention to "exceed expectations" by giving a clear estimate, on time service, respectful team members, and additional support with city planning for options. (Thank you, Jim R.!). Highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of meeting Michael to help me assess our hearing system. After checking over thins very meticulously, he was able to find that there didn’t need to be a replacement which was a huge relief! Michael’s knowledge base is out of this world and he explained things every step of the way. Thank you again for all the good you do for everyone you serve!

Fred’s Heating and Air was able to repair our AC the same day we called. No pushy sales pitch-just great repair service for our older unit. The technician took time to explain to us what the issue was and took care of the problem. He gave us some advice for what to watch for in the future as we have an older system, but for now everything is back up and tested and running perfectly!

I have had an annual maintenance agreement with Fred's for years now for multiple units. Fred's is amazing - they're always responsive, friendly over the phone, and have never once missed an appointment or not shown up when scheduled. They treat your time just as valuable and theirs. Gary is an awesome technician who really takes the time to maintain our systems as he would his own. He explains everything very thoroughly, doesn't upsell more than necessary, but makes sure our systems run perfectly between our two annual appointments. Highly recommend Fred's to anyone looking for heating & air maintenance or repair!!

Great service. Great communication. Great Technicians. Been with them for 16 years and wouldn't change if you paid me. We've been paying for the comfort care and all in all it's been well worth it.
