Working with Alaskan Plumbing, Heating & Air has been a pleasure! Jeremy is incredibly nice and very knowledgeable about plumbing and HVAC. His dedication really shows in the work he does, and seeing their work vehicle around town is a great reminder of the reliable service they provide. I highly recommend this company for anyone in Las Vegas looking for excellent plumbing or HVAC service.

One of your workers (Josh, I believe he said his name was) just assisted in catching a lost dog in my neighborhood (Valley View & Oakey) who was struggling in the heat, and helped find the owner.
Hats off to you all for hiring such upstanding individuals! -
“Promises Made Promises Not Kept” “Buyer Be Where”
If there was a rating less than one star Alaskan Plumbing. Heating & Air would get it from me.
On July 12,2024 we had a new Daiken Furnace/AC installed. Our previous Maytag was having issues even though it was only 10 years old. It was extremely hot that afternoon, 115 degrees and a repair estimate was provided. It was for the replacement and installation of a TXV valve at a cost of $1800.00 with no guarantee it would fix the problem.
Subsequently, about two weeks later we found the average cost of this TXV value with labor was $470.00 with a range of up to $750.00. Quite a difference and a good example of overpricing and taking advantage of two elderly senior citizens. We did mention Daiken as the manufacture of the compressor unit which was installed about 4 years ago.so we made a decision to replace the unit instead of repairing the Maytag. No sizing of the unit was done, no other comparable units were mentioned, no pluses or minutes, no detailed bill. It was very quick in less than10 minutes Chad e-mailed paperwork to be signed, took my credit card number and charged us $6285.00. In less a half hour a technician was over dismantling the old unit and hour after that another teck came over with the new Diakin Furnace/AC to assemble.
Little did we know at that time that the unit was a 5 ton, 60,000 BTU unit which for our one story 1380 square foot house was too large. Should’nt the contractor have known this. Of course not, because they wanted to make a sale, and did not size the house to the unit.
It did work for a week then the coils froze up. Defrosted by them and froze up again. Said due to fan speeds. Said fan speed set to low. Tried different fan speeds but the higher the fan speed the louder the noise inside the house as the unit is located in the garage and not in the crawl space. That is when the short cycling began and to this day continues. Short cycling is when the unit goes off and on more than twice an hour. We have tracked and our average is 4 or 5 times an hour.
Alaskan still claims it is the fan speed. This unit has nine speeds. At nine it sounds like a jet plane at two it is still loud at 70 decibels. Anything over 80 decibels causes hearing issues and we already have hearing issues at 77 years old. So we are in a dilemma. They want to turn up. We want another unit properly sized and money back to utilize another contractor because we view this company as not professional and as one Yelp reviewer said “They take the money and run”. All we want is what we paid for. Our old 10 year Maytag had no issues cooling, no short cycling, and little fan noise.
As respects pricing we think the $6250.00 charge was too much. They put freon in the old unit –2pounds worth over $400.00 and quoted air duct cleaning at $600.00 when we got it done for $295.00. So buyer be where and do your homework. In as far as the person who sold us the unit -Chad. He promised that he would personally come over to our home to inspect the installation, check the vents and duct work. He has never come over, never called, never returned calls, almost does not exist. As for the other technicians there were three beside the initial install and two had no clue as to the Daiken unit and how it operated, speeds, etc. Only Lorenzo knew more and was helpful to an extent.
Where will this lead us We cannot say. We will file grievances with the local contractors board, the better business bureau and post on social media.
We encourage you too look elsewhere for your AC needs. -
Appreciate the technician’s timely service and clear explanation of the HVAC systems status.

Russell P. was great! Knew his job, was courteous, explained what was wrong and fixed the problem in short time. I will ask for him next time we need service.

Update: alleged manager from Alaskan called me today after I left the review.
Cussed me out, yelled at me for leaving one start review and BBB complaint made threats against me and shouted at me over the phone ‘do you ever shut up?!!’
He refused to give me his name and refused to resolve the mess up. I’m out of money and they’re refusing to honor 10 year warranty.
The AC unit was installed improperly. I paid over 20 grand for two AC units for my home.
They wired the bigger unit at 35 amp and the unit needs 40 amp on the breaker to match. I called them to let them know to fix it asap. Benjamin who’s answering the phones today was incredibly rude, condescending, mocking my accent and refused to have the issue resolved.
PLEASE STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM ALASKAN plumbing and air.
Also this company shall reconsider who they hire to answer the phones - the individual who I got to speak to is borderline racist and xenophobic. Hung up on me 2 times after I asked to speak to management. -
This company used to be my go-to for hvac. Not any more. Their employee said a furnace safety feature needed immediate replacement. It needed to be cleaned as well as the fan motor which also was in need of immediate replacement, according to them. They Just want to upsell you - not really interested in doing the maintenance work. I will not use them again. So sad - used to be a good company.

Josh came the same day I called. Updated all three of my air conditioning units and explained everything. Highly recommend Alaskan.

Good to work with guys that enjoy their job and willing to be thorough. Thanks. So far, so good.

Had an appointment for the technician Jeremy to be at our house between 10 and 12 today. He was a no call no show called in spoke to Amber. She said that she would have him call never received a phone call. We used to do business with Gibson Air they always treated us with respect , always showed up for our appointments, did awesome work then we found out that they went out of business during Covid and alaskan air and plumbing had taken over their customers so glad to see that there such a great company and they do such wonderful work, not! Thanks for showing up. What a wonderful company you are and how reliable you are. We called you because our heater went we are two disabled people without heat, but that’s OK. We obviously didn’t need it.
