Plumbing reviews in Brooklyn, New York

Franco Belli is the epitome of professionalism and honesty. I needed a new toilet to be installed and I was overzealous and purchased my own toilet. Under my recommendation they tried to install the toilet but told me that it was not practical, showing me that it would not last a while and there were way better options on the market. Fast forward to the next day, and the plumber, Chris, installed it for me and told me every step involved with the process of installation. The level of professionalism and guidance that Chris and Manny gave me definetly made me more confident in my choice of plumbers. I would hightly recommend this company to my friends and family!

I met Paul (owner) and Manny (project manager) from Franco Belli & Sons in November 2013, after 18 months of construction on our home in Queens. Our previous plumber had abandoned the job after continually asking for more money (outside of what we agreed to in our contract). Then a second plumber I hired refused to supersede the original plumber’s work which was substandard and unsafe. We were stuck without gas, without hot water and without a plumber who was willing to pull a permit and complete the job so we could move in.
Paul and his entire workforce were incredible! They were competent, professional, and reliable – at all times. Paul personally dealt with the bureaucratic Dept. of Building (Plumbing Division) and facilitated with Con Edison so we could have our gas service restored. Paul’s crew worked tirelessly to correct multiple mistakes of the previous plumbers and to certify that all work done in my house was safe (think: leaky gas pipes). Also, Paul is capable to being reached via email and text message, which was very helpful when I couldn’t answer the phone during the work day. Manny is an excellent problem solver and will not leave until your job is complete!
Paul provided us with detailed billing statements, showing the hour-by-hour tasks that his employees completed – there was no question as to overbilling or billing for work that wasn’t performed. I trusted him with keys to my home and to work when I was not present in the house. Franco Belli & Sons Plumbing are not the least expensive plumbers but they are the BEST plumbers you will find in NYC. Safe yourself time, energy, money and headaches by hiring them FIRST! They will be our plumbers for life.

I have had drain issues for a long time. Burned through various plumbers over the years and still slow drains. The crew at Franco Belli arrived on time and analyzed the issue carefully. They had no issue working in the crawl space and replaced the drain lines. Highly professional and got the job done. Great business.

Every experience with Franco Belli has been positive! They are responsive, efficient, clean, friendly and helpful. Dealing with a 100 year old brownstone is a challenge and having reliable and honest plumbing service has been extremely helpful. Recommending them wholeheartedly!

Franco Belli & Sons Plumbing and Heating recently replaced my oil-fired boiler with a gas fired boiler. I dealt with Paul Belli. He gave me an itemized written quote for the job. He also arranged for the rebate on the boiler from the gas company which saved me a thousand dollars. The crew was courteous and efficient, and the manager returned to check the system and explain basic maintenance. The job also included a new digital thermostat. I'm happy with the system and the work. These guys are Brooklyn classics, and the real deal.

Called Franco Belli to investigate a water leak for me. They set the bar very high for contractors in Brooklyn. They're responsive, organized, communicate extremely well and obviously know their craft. I highly recommend these folks; don't waste your time with other plumbers. There's a reason Franco Belli has a great reputation and has been doing this a while. I also personally know them from other commercial projects they have completed, so they are flat out great at what they do! Thanks guys.

Let me tell you my story. I own a 3 family home in Brooklyn and I am affected by the new local law 152 requirements for a gas inspection. I vetted about 13 companies before settling on Franco. Why because they were on the lower end of the price spectrum. So naturally I didn’t expect to be dealing with professionals…..boy was I wrong. The team was super responsive and professional through out the entire process and made everything from payment to processing a breeze. The experience was so good me and my neighbors all sign up with Franco and got the inspection done. Anyone who would call me about the process I recommended Franco. #trusttheprocess go with Franco.
FYI this may sound like an ad. However it is now. I want other people to benefit from my experience -
I was having company over my house on Saturday and the drain in my kitchen sink was clogged. I called Franco Belli early on Saturday and they came right away and were able to get my drain cleared that same morning. This was great emergency service that really saved the day. The price was reasonable as well and the worker (Manny I think his name was?) was very polite and helpful. I'm glad I know which company I can call for any future problems.

Update 4 years later: Just had the 4 year Local Law 152 gas inspection done by Franco Belli, in and out and painless and friendly. Many thanks to Paul, Shawn, and Manny!
We contacted Franco on a recommendation for our periodic local law 153 gas inspection on our facility. They were prompt, efficient, and honest. We needed extra work to comply to code but they were able to guide us through the process and took the anxiety out of it all. From the owner to the field team, all were approachable, accessible, helpful, patient, reassuring, and friendly. We will definitely be using them for all our future maintenance and inspection needs. Thanks very much to Paul, Manny, Mike, Chris, and the rest of the gang! -
I would highly discourage using this plumber, they sent a high quote, charged a deposit, sent two plumbers who were not able to do the work and then claimed I owed them additional money (when I did not). I ultimately had to hire a different plumber who was able to complete the work within an hour....pretty terrible experience.

Our 13 unit coop in lower Manhattan is very pleased to have found Franco Belli to perform a city-required inspection of our gas heating pipes. Their personnel are prompt to answer the phone and respond by email. They are cordial and knowledgeable and answer questions thoroughly. Their prices compared favorably to other firms we approached. They came on time, completed the work efficiently, and billed exactly as they promised. We would hire them again for other plumbing work.

I found Franco Belli to be an amazing company for my boiler install--something that's hard to find in NYC. Manny and Chris did a nice job putting in a new Navien for me to replace a very old boiler that kept breaking down. Manny was always available to answer my questions and help plan logistics. The price was reasonable and the work professional. Very happy to have found them, and am looking forward to working with them in the future.

I highly recommend using Franco Belli Plumbing and Heating. They were responsive to us, even tho' I called on the weekend and explained the extra cost for a weekend visit right upfront. We had them come on a weekday and got excellent service. Our system is operating very well: quietly and efficiently. I live in a coop building that has to use Licensed plumbers and after this experience we plan to consider them our "go to" plumbers.

Excellent job, very professional, will definitely work with them again. We had a plumbing connection issue with our fridge and a hose valve issue….they were extremely helpful and did an overall thorough job.

So happy I found Franco Belli. After receiving exorbitant prices for a new hot water heater installation from several other local companies, I did some searching online and discovered Manny and his team at Franco Belli. They came in and not only did a fantastic job, but found a smart solution to my complicated problem that literally saved me several thousands of dollars in the process. And when we had an emergency boiler failure during the coldest day of the year, Manny and his teams were on site immediately, repairing the issue quickly and professionally. It's also nice to deal a company where you can reach the same person every time — and talk to them honestly, with no BS. I am happy to recommend Manny and his team at Franco Belli to anyone in Brooklyn who needs great (and responsive) plumbing and heating services.

Excellent job, very professional, will definitely work with them again. My heat was not working in the middle of winter and Franco Belli Plumbing came to the rescue. They were extremely helpful over the phone when I initially called. Working with me over the phone to fully diagnose the problem was a pleasant experience, and they sent over someone right away. Highly recommend this company for anyone looking for great work at an affordable price.

Paul and the whole team were fabulous, running new gas lines throughout our 4-unit building. They were fast, responsive, and supportive throughout the process. They were patient with difficult neighbors, worked to problem-solve the inherent challenges of running new pipes in an old building, and ensured all inspections went smoothly. Start to finish, Franco Belli Co. partnered with us to get the job done: on budget, on time, and done right. Highly recommend this company!

Franco Belli & Sons have worked on the plumbing in our building for 10 years and we are satisfied with their work. Sadly, we will not be using their services after this last experience in October.
My husband made an appointment for a certain date in October to check the boiler before we turned it on for the season. When a plumber hadn’t shown up by 1pm for a morning appointment, I called the office, only to be told that the employee hadn’t shown up for work. I was then contacted by another plumber who said he would try to get over to our house that afternoon; he later said that he was stuck on his current job and wouldn’t make it that afternoon. A different plumber called the next day 15 minutes before I had to leave for an appointment, but, luckily, my husband was home to take over.
The plumber tuned up the boiler and then said that he wasn't happy with the state of the mortar around the flue. Unasked, he left and returned with a bucket of mortar to touch up the questionable areas.
We were shocked to find a charge of $1058.06 on our credit card for the same service that cost us $500.08 the year before. An extra $500 for a job my husband could have done in 30 minutes? We don't know because they didn't bother with an invoice or even an estimate. When my husband called the office to question the bill, he was brushed off with the statement that they raised their rates earlier this year and the plumber was there for a long time.
After that experience, we are looking for a new plumbing company. The guys on the job still do nice work but we don't wish to pay through the nose when we aren't even sure someone will show up as scheduled nor how much a job might cost. -
Had a mess of a clogged sink. James and Jesus came, cleared, and installed everything. Very nice company. Works great.

This company has been my go to spot for 25+ years. Work performed is second to none. From residential to high end commercial. Every job completed by this company is backed by the Belli name. They stand by their work. They are honest and fair. What more can a consumer ask for?

Absolutely terrible experience with Franco Belli Plumbing. I called them to service my water heater, and the technician was at my home for less than five minutes before refusing to perform the work, stating that my unit was not serviceable by their company due to missing parts. No repairs were done, no meaningful diagnosis was provided — yet I was billed $280.35 for “one hour of service.”
At no point before the visit was I informed of a mandatory one-hour minimum charge. Only after the technician declined to perform the job was I handed paperwork with that language buried above the signature line. This is a classic bait-and-switch — no disclosure up front, refusal to provide the service, and then a hefty bill.
