I got my estimate from Mason and after interviewing 3 other roofing companies, Five Star was the obvious choice. Mason didn’t waste my time with a 3 hour sales pitch. He got right to the point and I really appreciated that. Matt was the person who came out to meet with me about the project. He answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. Next came the roofers. Louis’s crew was amazing. They were professional, friendly, and incredibly skilled. I could not believe the amount of work they did in 2 days. I had 3 layers and cedar shingles to take off. Matt came back to make sure I was happy with the results. Mason, Matt, Louis and his crew, all went above & beyond what I expected. Job well done!! No one wakes up one morning and says, "I think I'll drop a tree on my one year old roof today." But, that is indeed what happened to me. Five Star did such a phenomenal job installing the roof (see below) the year before, I wanted them to do the repairs. Abby came out and walked the entire roof, even though only a small area was damaged. She took numerous photos and documented damage to other areas, like the gutter and siding. Her estimate to the insurance company was so thorough, along with the photo documentation, that they used her estimate and did not have to send an adjuster out to the house. Insurance can take their own sweet time, as you may know, but when they did pay on the claim for the repairs, I was able to get on the schedule pretty quickly and have the repairs done. Chris did an excellent job with the repairs and I am back in business with my home all in one piece.

Like I mentioned in my previous review - for a professional roofing company, you kind of expect them to be good at roofing, which they definitely are. It's the OTHER stuff that makes them a company I want to continue to do business with - the excellent communication, the responsiveness to inquiries, the professional yet warm personalities, and the time they take to explain and discuss things so you feel comfortable, and know you're in good hands. That other stuff - Five Star excels at that as well - especially Abby! Abby is a true asset to her team at Five Star - she exemplifies patience, understanding, compassion and she gets it done! Many thanks to Chris and Abby for making home repairs a lot less painful!

I am not easily impressed by contractors. After having worked in insurance adjusting for several years I have seen the worst to the best of them. Five Star Improvements has an appropriate name, however, because they are top notch all around. Truly. Codie took his time to answer all my questions during the sales process, and was easy to get a hold of for follow up. The office team sent out reminders of the appointment and I always got a person when I called. James came out the morning of the roof install to make sure everything and everyone was there doing their thing; and the install team was amazing. They showed up early, knocked out a superb job in less than a day, and the clean up afterward was something that I have literally never seen before. When I tell you there was not one scrap of old roofing or any nails laying around...there were none - zero, zilch, nada. I expect a team that has been in business for a lot of years to do a professional job, but the excellence at which they do it, in every part of the process, is what makes these guys worth your time, and your money. Highly recommend Five Star - for a roof or any project you may have in mind.

Five Star did a very good job of tearing off the old asphalt roofing materials and installing a new roof. The weather was not the best, but they made sure everything was protected. Completed the project with no issues. Nicely done!

Aaron was very helpful. We had a roof job done, fair price, excellent warranty if you're not planning on solar. (same is true for other companies, solar voids your warranty on that part of the roof)

Aaron himself came back in the cold weather to complete the job, as they missed some vents the first time around. Not an issue for us at all.

Five Star Improvements has delivered impeccable service to the HOA communities that have had all the new roofs replaced in 2024 & 2025. These communities are excited to see the next section for 2026. Five Star has been dedicated to address all last minute calls, as well as any questions or concerns. Very happy with their work!

Roof for our newly built barn. Great communication always! Justin and Aaron: friendly, excellent professionalism and quick responses to our messages. Aaron took care of every detail, we could count on him to do the best for us. Luis' crew went above and beyond to finish in frigid temps before the next snowfall. We built the barn, not perfect corners, but they overcame any obstacles, very professional and punctual, cleaning up after, too. Very happy with this company; great office team also, helpful and friendly.

Had ice dam that leaked into bedroom. Aaron came to assess the damage and come up with a plan for the roof. Promised to come back when snow is gone to inspect the roof installed by 5 Star years ago and fix in the spring. First impression of Aaron is great customer service. Great to see 5 Star respond so quickly to a possible warranty issue.

Mason was phenomenal, worked on my behalf with the insurance company for 100% replacement of my damaged property. Very professional along the way, excellent communication throughout.

The work was done quickly, professionally and with the attention to detail all home owners should expect.

I had a problem with piece of siding coming off and a section that had loosen and was bowing out from the house Arron from Five Star Improvements came out to fix these issues. He was on time figured out the problem and fixed it all very quickly. He is very pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable a pleasure to work with.

Our technician Rich did a terrific job with our shower renovation. He was super careful and walked us through the project while he was here. We're very happy with the end result!

Our cottage was dark brown wood in the front and brick in the back. 5 star did an excellent job replacing it with vinyl and stone.
I would have given 5 stars but the communication between staff and myself needs great improvement.

Two very efficient and professional people performed an outstanding job siding our home. Little did the cold weather phase these outstanding professional people. They were
friendly, polite and happy, as well as knowledgeable of their trade.

Project managers manage the roofing and siding very well. Always on top of what was needed and when. Their follow was very good.

The accounting manager was great to work with, with all the changes and upgrades.. Very reasonable, and accurate. A very up beat personality.

Sales representative was excellent in presenting the products and process for our roofing and siding project. The professionalism displayed was outstanding as well as their knowledge of products and procedures.

Is there an opportunity for improvement; sure there is. Communication within the company internal structure would be a good start.

We just finished up a new steel roofing project. Five Star did an excellent job. Aaron, our project manager, kept things moving smoothly and more importantly, was receptive to any input or concerns we had, was willing to adjust on the fly, and was on site or only a text message away to offer his expertise. Aaron, is a real pro, and just a really good dude, it was a pleasure working with him! Highly recommend this team if you need a roof.

We had a great experience! Nate was very professional. We had a step in shower installed with a seat, handles, glass doors, and fixtures see. He explained everything. My house was immaculate when he was done. Thank you!

I was disappointed with my experience with Graves Brothers Home Improvement. They canceled on me twice, which meant I never even had the chance to see their work. While their team may do quality jobs for others, the repeated cancellations made it impossible for me to move forward with them.

TL;DR: Graves Brothers is great at making a sale, telling you they will do all the right things, but they perform work very quickly WITH errors, and do not return to fix them for month(s) after installation. Post-sale response is very poor. We do not recommend them.

We used Graves Brothers to replace our roof and install gutter leaf protection based on reviews we’ve read and positive recommendations from friends. Pricing was decent for our sized home. I have waited for them to attempt to take care of everything before leaving this review, but things are taking MUCH longer than expected and we certainly are dissatisfied after repeated calls expressing our dissatisfaction and attempts to get things reconciled with little or no effort from Graves to get things resolved.

Premise: we had mold/mildew in our attic from 2 bathroom fans venting into the attic instead of through the roof vent for an unknown number of years. Both were connected to a tee, so venting was additionally poor. The roof deck was rotting, especially where the roof meets the chimney. We have trees in our property and constantly clogged gutters.

Quotation: new tear-off roof, 100% of decking replaced on main house, close gable vents to use soffit/ridge vents, ridge vent for garage, upstairs bathrooms get separate vents, install gutter leaf protection.

Day-of Roof Installation: It took one day to complete the entire roof. Started at 7:30am, finished at 6:30pm. Received call from the site foreman about some gable vents, he took care of it.

Day-of Gutter Leaf Protection Installation: Completed 3 days after the roof. They arrived sometime mid-morning and completed mid-afternoon.

Issues:
1. Roof: finished the garage roof with no ridge vent.
2. Gutter Leaf Protection: uneven, pitched toward house, wavy, rubberized backing in and out of place. Leaves collecting at downspout connecting house to garage and entering due to a poor cut not covered by leaf protection.
3. Flashing at base of siding: flashing along base of siding is tacked down and very wavy.
4. Flashing at base of chimney: large cut across width of chimney where old flashing was removed with remnants of the old flashing.
5. Bathroom vent fans: still installed using the existing tee. New flex pipe between “tee” and roof vent is tee. Both roof vents not centered over vent fans (holes in roof are 1 truss width away from directly above vents), seams are opposing direction of air flow , 2nd roof vent is connected to inside of cap but dangling in the attic, not connected.
6. Heat tape wires: Cut heat tape wires and instead of simply unplugging them from existing exterior plugs, they were left hanging on the side of the house

Resolutions:
1. Roof: called the foreman during installation, said he did not have a record of it doing garage ridge vent. Called our sales person, who called the foreman and instructed installers to get the garage ridge vent completed. Completed on the same day
2. Gutter Leaf Protection: called sales person who stated he would look at the install. Waited 1 week for him to respond, heard nothing, I called him again. Stated he came out to look, did not like quality, and would send out a service crew to fix. Different crew came to adjust, but I am still not happy with the quality of workmanship. Still same situation, with little change.
3. Flashing at base of siding: mentioned the waviness of flashing at base of siding, it was brushed off by sales rep, stated it will eventually relax over time (?).
4. Flashing at base of chimney: representative mentioned he will have someone raise the flashing or install taller flashing. Nothing done yet, +28 days since install
5. Bathroom vent fans: I entered attic to verify, told rep, he stated a call back by next day, no call back after 2 days, will have to call to remind. Nothing done yet, +28 days since install
6. Heat tape wires: rep mentioned they can unplug and discard these wires. Nothing done yet, +28 days since install

I had a stone facade and pot lights installed. The workmanship was well above par. Matt did the installation and I was extremely pleased with his talents. I know who to call for any future work.

Awesome company to work with. Frank was a great project manager he came right out to get me an estimate. The roof looks fantastic. Great work and clean up.

They resided my house by first stripping off the two existing layers of siding the covering the sheathing with insulation board. There were a few areas of the house, shed, breezeway and garage that had been done with different materials and at different times. The new siding unified it all to look consistent for a change.

They have a great way of wrapping the windows and doors in white aluminum trim that looks fantastic and should be weathertight since they also caulked around it once installed.

They cleaned up everyday and left things in pretty good shape when fully done. The team lead was available to quickly address any questions I had and everything was taken care of as agreed. They really stand behind their word and promises.
