Wishmeyers Plumbing Plus's had Joe show up at my property and quickly and analyzed the situation. He completed the clogged drain and resolved the problem.

I can't say enough good things about Wischmeyer's. I've met several of their team over the past year for various projects upgrading my home. Not only are they professional, punctual and respectful, I really feel as though I've known them a long time and am comfortable with them right away. They each have unique personalities that really shine through, and each one is a true perfectionist. My late dad was a plumber and I feel the same dedication and mindfulness to their craft as he put into his. I want to put a five-star shout out to the office team - very responsive, personable, and y'all have a great sense of humor which I appreciate. So far I've worked with Paul, Jim P, Darrell, Milan, and Joe - all on various aspects of my bathroom gut remodel. I was referred to Wischmeyer's by my plumber/excavator when my then-exterior projects were done and I was ready to tackle indoor plumbing projects. Great referrals beget great referrals, and Wischmeyer's is GREAT.

This company was amazing, we called at 5:40 to see if they could do a same day service because our basement was flooding. Paul gave us a call less than 20 minutes later saying he’d be here in an hour. He showed up and immediately got to work he fixed all of our issues in less than an hour. We are just so thankful for all his help :)

Huge thanks to Joe for the quick fix! A surprise leak popped up, and while others couldn’t offer a same day fix, he was here the same day and had us back up and running in no time.

Recently had Paul come and replace an outside faucet with a
freeze proof unit called a "hose bib". He also recommended a new shutoff for the unit for convenience in case it needs servicing in the future. In addition, he installed a new mains shutoff. All was completely explained along with the price before any work began. Everything went as smoothly and efficiently as an episode of This Old House. Wischmeyer will get my business in the future. What an incredible experience! From the moment that Will arrived, his exceptional interpersonal skills and communication gave me a great comfort level. Being older and having lived in other states as well, I have had many past experiences with companies who take advantage of people, charge outrageous prices, incorrectly analyze problems, and do an incomplete job. Will was very efficient in assessing the drain situation, explaining everything thoroughly and quoting a very fair price for the work that needed to be done. No hidden agendas and no ‘empty’ words. Simply stated, Will was great and did an exceptional job.

We had Wischmeyer’s Plumbing Plus (528 Hollenbeck Street, Rochester, NY) come to do 3 simplistic repairs we specified in detail before they came out: a leaking turnoff valve behind a toilet, a leaking exterior spigot (hose bib) and a short PVC extension to exhaust sewer gases (something they had attempted prior that proved ineffective). In the past 5 times we have used them they have given us material price and then labor costs despite having a small notation on their receipts that suggested they are a “flat fee” business. We trusted them because of prior favorable experiences that were priced fairly with work done to our satisfaction. This time was different. JoeB. wrote on a scrap piece of paper what appeared to be estimates of the work. Having had no problems with Wischmeyer’s or this particular plumber in the past I agreed to and paid for the work not realizing that the details of the materials involved. Joe B. arrived at 8am and under the guise of leaving for parts offered an unnecessary isolation valve to turn water back on in the rest of the house. I refused it. He left for roughly 30 minutes returning to wrap up the job shortly after…roughly 10:30am. The job itself was completed to my satisfaction. THE PROBLEM began when I learned from my husband later that day the limited materials used to complete the job. I then priced those out at retail. Wischmeyer’s gets these parts wholesale so even on the high side less than $100 or parts were used. We then checked several resources to find what an average fair charge for plumbing repairs would be in our area: $60-$80 per hours. On the high side the completed job should have cost us roughly $260 plus tax. Instead we were charged a $79 service charge, $1032 for labor and materials and $82 in taxes. If you deduct materials at $100 and the taxes of $82 we were charged $942 for two hours of labor. There is absolutely no way for Wischmeyer’s to justify a charge of roughly $471 per hour labor. When my spouse called to complain the person answering the phone said a manager would return our call the following day but it was she who called the next day. Her excuses for those exploitative charges were numerous and are as follows: “We aren’t a materials and labor company but a flat rate company.” She repeated this line even though we are repeat customers with whom that has never been the case. She added “You are paying for expertise and experience.” We countered that Joe B. had done work in our home prior and not billed us exploitatively and that all their plumbers are licensed as required by law and experienced. She repeatedly said she understood our “frustration” but refused to justify the labor costs each time insisting they were a flat rate company. She asked what we thought the job was actually worth and we said $260 plus tax and she guffawed and accused of us not understanding the industry despite our history of using them to do work for us. Then she went into a litany of their costs such as insurance and labor costs. We countered that none of these would justify the exploitative labor charges. She refused any refund other than the $79 service fee.

Very professional and courteous. Kept me well informed about my plumbing issues. Eager to please and customer satisfaction appeared to be a high importance.

Joey and Paul were very knowledgeable and professional . They carefully inspected our floor, ceiling and bathroom after listening to our explanation of the water leak. They worked through the possible sources of the leak and determined the cause. They repaired the leak and helped us determine next steps.
We were also impressed with the woman who answered the phone when we first called. She listened carefully, responded knowledgeably and was very clear in describing the service and costs for their service.

Pros: Receptionist who answered the phone was friendly and professional. Scheduling was a breeze; and the tech arrived on time. The tech was personable and knowledgeable. He completed the job quickly and efficiently. He left the powder room clean. Price seemed a bit high, but we don’t have plumbing done often, so it’s difficult to say for certain.

Pat came out on Saturday for the first service call. He recommended to replace the furnace based on the age and cost to fix. Pat scheduled the install then Dan and Josh showed up on time, Monday. They worked fast, clean and overall did a great job. Thank you!
