HVAC reviews in Staten Island, New York
-
They fixed my old heating system that was out of commission - now I know what to do if it breaks again. Their service was helpful, even with an older unit. They made it work, so I'm happy and will pass on their name to others who may need similar help.

Had a decent experience with Breein HVAC after being forced to switch due to horrible service from another provider. The rep at the office was helpful, took my info, scheduled an appointment, and sent a technician - that's it, but so far so good. Will likely choose them again when I need AC or heating work done in the future.

Anthony fixed my parents' issue quickly and efficiently. He was super helpful, explaining everything clearly. The whole process went smoothly from diagnosis to fix. They're really satisfied and will likely hire him again in the future.

The techs showed up on time and did a great job. They stayed organized and cleaned up as they went. The sales team got it right, understanding our budget and what we needed.

We hired this company based on online reviews. When we called, they quoted a diagnostic fee of $85 over the phone. The service guy, Dan, showed up and replaced a capacitor in under 5 minutes without informing us beforehand about the cost. He charged us $225 for the part and claimed labor wouldn't be extra, essentially charging $200 for labor. We later found out that a capacitor costs around $20 online. It seems unfair they didn't disclose this information before proceeding. When we called to discuss with Fran from the office, she was dismissive and argumentative, refusing to listen to our concerns about being treated honestly. We just wanted transparency and a clear option to proceed or not before the replacement took place.

This company deserves zero stars. Don't waste your time with them. They sent inexperienced kids who didn't know their stuff, missed multiple vents during the duct cleaning, and then abandoned the job, leaving you high and dry. The result? Your filters remain clogged, and now you'll have to search for a reliable contractor to do it right.

They botched my AC diagnosis, pushing hard for a new unit despite finding a $500 fix that still didn't work. After taking it to another company, they discovered a simple loose wire at the thermostat. I called their office about getting the old part back, but Teresa was hostile and unfriendly. Despite knowing now that the issue wasn't with that part, I'm still waiting for someone to follow up – which is appalling. Avoid this company due to atrocious customer service and subpar work.

I've been working with Breezin for about a year now, getting regular checks done during both summer and winter. The staff and technicians are top-notch - friendly, polite, and genuinely know their stuff. Overall, I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable service.

I just got a new AC unit and I was thoroughly impressed. After reading reviews, I had high hopes and they didn't disappoint. Pat came to my place and explained what to expect - exactly as promised. He also gave my old unit a boost so I could hang in there for a few days. The technicians arrived right on time, were spotless, professional, and courteous. I highly recommend them without hesitation. Thanks for the great service!

We had an outdated, 500-pound rooftop unit that desperately needed replacing due to its remote 3-story height. The replacement process went flawlessly with no issues, thanks to skilled workers who proved themselves to be courteous and diligent in their work. I highly recommend this company for similar tasks.

I was struggling with my heating unit, unsure who to trust. In the phone book, I spotted Breezin - a lucky find. From initial contact to the visit from the technician, their staff is warm and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them. Word of mouth has spread – my brother-in-law now uses them, as do some neighbors in our complex. If you have heating or AC issues, don't hesitate; tell others to reach out to Breezin straight away.

I've had the misfortune of dealing with multiple contractors over the past 28 years, living on Staten Island in my current home. Unfortunately, Breezin is one of those companies that still lingers in my memory, albeit for all the wrong reasons.
It was back in 1998 when I called them about a heating issue - my furnace just stopped working. What started with one technician quickly escalated to two and then three as they struggled to diagnose the problem. Their approach seemed haphazard, replacing parts without a clear plan, including disconnecting the gas pipe out of habit. I was oblivious to this chaos until my wife called me at work.
I requested to speak with the lead technician, who was taken aback by the situation. He assured me that he had replaced every part except the blower motor, but the unit still wouldn't work. He eventually contacted Bryant, the manufacturer, and asked them to bypass the thermostat to see if the unit would function. And, indeed, it did.
However, what followed was a six-hour ordeal at my home, with Breezin charging me for parts, labor, and even a new circuit board, ignitor, limit switch, and thermostat. The final bill must have been substantial. I never forgot this experience, nor the owner's apparent lack of accountability.
It's surprising that Breezin still operates despite such a debacle. Their haphazard approach to problem-solving was costly for me, and it's clear they haven't changed their ways since then. Even their response to negative reviews seems evasive, with claims of slander that ring hollow when faced with the facts.
If I were one of your competitors, I would have no hesitation mentioning my company by name. Instead, Shawn, the owner, insists on claiming ignorance, which only serves to highlight his incompetence. It's laughable that they still use this tactic, as evident in another review on Yelp that mirrors my own experience from 1998 but with a similar outcome in 2011.
Before using any HVAC company, including Breezin, take the time to check their reviews and ensure you're not falling prey to a similar mistake. If the Department of Consumer Affairs is involved, you may be entitled to recourse up to $15,000 for shoddy work. I urge anyone reading this to look at Breezin's Yelp reviews before entrusting them with your heating needs. -
This business fell short in terms of professionalism and reliability. We made an effort to accommodate their schedule by meeting them at our new place twice - both times early in the morning. However, on both occasions, there was no one present to take the estimate, and we were left with no warning or explanation.
After speaking with Theresa, I was initially told that we would be prioritized for a follow-up appointment. She even went out of her way to acknowledge my wife's frustration during our call. But when the day of the consultation finally arrived, she didn't contact us at all - instead, she revealed that someone had called in sick and they couldn't keep their commitment.
The lack of communication was staggering. The least they could have done was let us know what was happening so we could adjust our plans accordingly. Unfortunately, this experience left a sour taste, and I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone due to its subpar service and poor reliability. -
This business excels at punctuality, courtesy, and professionalism. Workers leave the job site spotless, a testament to their dedication. With a flawless track record of excellent customer service, I wholeheartedly endorse them for those seeking reliable HVAC services. Their contract work has consistently exceeded my expectations, making them an ideal choice.

Yvan performed service on our furnace and did an excellent job. He's highly knowledgeable, efficient, and explained the issue clearly. Very professional and courteous - made sure everything was taken care of. Cleaned up afterwards too. We've been using BREEZIN' for home maintenance since moving to Staten Island and can't recommend them enough - wish we'd discovered them sooner.

Adam and his assistant arrived promptly, were courteous, and efficiently replaced my water heater within under two hours. They also collected the old unit. A follow-up call on Sunday morning resulted in a brand new water heater being installed less than 24 hours later. The work was satisfactory.

The team at Breezin took on an incredibly complex project that was thrown at them by my general contractor, who provided woefully inadequate information. The actual scope of the job ended up being three times more extensive than initially anticipated, yet despite this, I was impressed by their professionalism and willingness to work with me.
Throughout the process, Sean, Tony, Danny, John, Gina, and Sabrina were consistently responsive, understanding, and committed to delivering a high-quality outcome. They demonstrated exceptional collaboration skills, patiently addressing unexpected challenges and working closely with me to find solutions. Their attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the job, from pricing to ongoing troubleshooting. I'm thoroughly satisfied with the final result, which is functioning as intended, and I have no hesitation in recommending Breezin for future projects. -
This company is a complete waste of time. I called them because my furnace wasn't working, and the guy came out and told me he couldn't fix it - instead, he said they needed to replace the gas valve. He promised to order the part but didn't actually do so. When I called back to find out the price, they quoted me $800 for the part, plus a huge rush fee if I wanted it expedited. To install the new part, they wanted an additional $375. I ended up buying the part myself for $225 and paying $200 to have it installed. Don't bother calling this company - they're only out to take your money. Do some research before you commit, because they clearly don't care about their customers.

I was away visiting family when our son called us from Raleigh, North Carolina, about a problem with our heating system. I told him to contact companies on Staten Island and have someone come down to assess the issue. Luckily, he ended up calling Breezin and spoke with Shawn, who came out to examine the approximately 20-year-old system.
Shawn explained what was wrong with it and why replacement was necessary. I gave my permission for him to proceed, and he did a fantastic job. What impressed me most was that despite being away when the work was done, I knew everything would be taken care of. Shawn's professionalism, competitive pricing, and skilled workers made a great impression.
I've come to trust Breezin because they're an extremely reputable firm with high standards for customer service. They treat their employees well, too. The peace of mind that comes with knowing you can rely on them for honest repairs or replacements is invaluable - I don't have to worry about being there when a problem arises.
For years now, I've been using Breezin's contract maintenance and repair services without any issues whatsoever. -
Working with this company was a delight. They showed up promptly the day after Thanksgiving, identified the issue with my furnace, and had it fixed by the end of the day. What impressed me most was the exceptional customer service I received. The technicians were polite, knowledgeable, and kept me in the loop throughout the process. Kudos to Glen, Ronny, Gina, and Barbara for their professionalism and courtesy – they really made a positive impact on my experience.

I had a frustrating issue with my contractor, but Breezin stepped in to resolve it last June. Initially, the contractor was pointing fingers at the age of the HVAC system, but Glenn from Breezin dug deeper and found two overlooked wires touching together during re-installation by the contractor. He thoroughly tested the unit, replaced necessary parts, and ran new electrical wiring between the outside and inside units to ensure everything was secure. What impressed me was his genuine attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
