We have been working with Sparrow & Sons for years, and they are always professional, prompt, and friendly. We recently had to have a part of our water treatment system replaced. While we thought waiting a week for a part to arrive was not a problem, Josh knocked on our door just a day later with it. Although it was a weekend and he was responding to emergencies, he generously came to our house to replace the part. That extra effort and care are extraordinary, and we are grateful for Josh and his colleagues.

I recently had two appointments with Sparrow and Sons inside of one week at two different locations. They got us on the schedule within 24-48 hours, were excellent communicators, showed up exactly in the time frame they said they would, and did excellent work quickly and efficiently. They are highly skilled and competent, and they don’t dawdle. They get in and they get out. 10/11 would recommend.

Edit to add: after a lot of back and forth, it was discovered that the consultation decisions were not communicated to the office or sent on to the warehouse, which is why the first faucet was nothing like what I asked for. After texting Mr. Sparrow directly, a suitable replacement faucet was found and installed. I recommend trying to get in touch with Mr. Sparrow directly as he worked to get everything right. The other people seemed less interested in what I wanted and more in just getting a job done.
Not only did it take 2 weeks from consultation(which they were late for) to scheduling the install of my kitchen faucet, they didn't confirm with me the choice of faucet. It took a week to get someone scheduled to come in, then he didn't show up to work on the day. Had to reschedule for another day, their office scheduled for a time I wasn't available despite me confirming over the phone a different time. After another rescheduling, he installed a faucet I don't like that was not what I discussed during the initial consultation a month ago, and he left the old sprayer hose in place because he didn't have the part to cover the hole it would leave. Absolutely do NOT recommend, under any circumstances, you use this company.

Had Ken from Sparrow and Sons come by to help with a running toilet. He fixed it quickly and even helped with another issue that was not apart of the call. Super knowledgeable and friendly service, would recommend them to anyone needing a reliable plumber.

Simply put these guys rock! I have used Sparrow for both emergencies and for planned work. While I enjoy the latter, it is comforting to see Sparrow recover from the former.

The staff is efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. If you are in need of a Plummer, I cannot recommend Sparrow and Sons strongly enough. Do yourself a favor and give them a call.

We Hired Sparrows to replace the cast iron plumbing under our house with PVC. After they finished the job, we started noticing problems right away. The downstairs toilet became a geyser when an upstairs toilet was flushed. It literally hit the ceiling sometimes. We had them come back to diagnose the issue. They performed hours of diagnostics and came up with nothing. They made a total guess that it could be a partial blockage in the sewer line. We cleared that and it didn't solve the problem. It was at this point that they became really obnoxious to deal with. They clearly didn't want to solve the problem that they caused, because they couldn't figure out what they did wrong. We even tried to help. We spent hours of our own free time researching NC plumbing codes. We came up with a hypothesis that there was a problem in the wet vent pipe. When we told Michael Sparrow, instead of saying that could be it, or he didn't think that was right and here's why, he told us we're 'not allowed' to use plumbing jargon because we aren't educated in plumbing. That blew my mind. If I was so incompetent at my own profession for so long as Michael Sparrow, I would be begging the client that was suffering from my incompetence for forgiveness and doing everything in my power to fix the problem I caused. It is pretty clear that Michael is the type of person that instead tries to find a way to blame the person he is causing problems for and weasel his way out of having to do any work.

We hired another plumber to come look. He saw the problem with the wet vent pipe right away. We asked Sparrows to fix it. They sent Marcos. Marcos slammed our doors and didn't speak to us. He didn't even tell us he finished the work before leaving. I supposed he didn't want to stick around to see a test. What do you know, when we tested it the problem was solved.

There is a lack of maturity at this company that goes all the way to the top. I'm sure they're just fine to work with if they get it right the first time, but if they make a mistake even the managers start throwing tantrums. I would expect mistakes too, considering how hopeless they were at diagnosing the problem they caused.

I was walking out of my house at 6am when I noticed a leaking hot water heater. I called the after hours line on my way into work, they answered and a technician called me back an hour later. I sent a pic of the issue so he knew what to bring. The issue was resolved by 10 am. I was SOOOOO impressed with how quickly and professionally this was taken care of. Thank you. I will always use Sparrow and sons.

Never thought I would say this about a plumber, but this group is great. They care about doing the right job, aren't trying to oversell you stuff and are friendly.

I was fine with last week's cancellation by this company due to the emergency with the Chantal. However, today they did not show up for the rescheduled 8-10 slot. When I called the person answering the phone said, they had me done for 12-2 (their mistake not mine). It is now 2:30 and nobody showed up. My time is valuable too.

Outstanding service all around. Sent email listing a number of projects I needed to have done in home I had recently purchased. (Remove old toilet ... Service and Adjust tankless whole house hot water heater units ... remove outside island sink and cap drain and water lines ... clean slow drains ... etc.); I had done my research before selecting Carrboro Plumbing and I was not disappointed. Jeff arrived ahead of schedule and tackled every project listed in four hours. I was amazed and thought it would take two trips. He even crawled the entire house crawl space to cap the outside sink and drain lines under the crawl. Jeff discovered one of the tankless hot water units had a bad element , ordered a new part, and returned to replace it. Five Plumbing Wrenches Up! Great Job and Service!

I've been using Carrboro Plumbing since 2009 for my in home plumbing needs as well as repairs to my rental properties. Chris and his crew are hands down the best plumbing company in the area--they're honest, easy to work with and more than fair on pricing. I couldn't recommend them enough.

Carrboro Plumbing has done three repairs since I purchased my home in Chapel Hill. I have used several other plumbers in the area for my previous home and rental property. Carrboro Plumbing is by far the best provider I have found. Scheduling is easy and efficient. They arrive on time and prepared for the job. The plumber does a great job explaining the problem and solutions. They complete repairs in a timely manner. Their hourly rates are extremely competitive for this area and they do a good job of explaining the cost of each repair. I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again in the future.

We are remodeling our 50yo master bathroom and the tub was a one-piece unit. The crew sent to replace the old tub with a larger new tub did a fantastic job. The framing was not square and it was a difficult job to get the new unit places and re-install new plumbing. The crew did not give up and followed through until the installation was completed. Definitely would recommend Carrboro Plumbing for any project.

Mark came out to repair a leaking toilet connected to a pipe that is set in a concrete floor. The old flange was cracked. The pipe was surrounded by concrete such that a new flange would not fit properly (and the old one was probably never installed properly). Instead of making the problem worse, Mark suggested that he consult with Chris and other colleagues and come back. By the second visit, the fix was complete!

We are very happy with the outcome and that they did so with minimal damage to the concrete (just chiseled around the pipe to make it mate with the new flange). What was cut out did not show once the toilet was set into position thus saving us further hassle had the hole been bigger.

Mark described the problem to us and possible solutions with this more tricky situation (and potential problems that might be encountered along the way). Because of the Mark's excellent communication, we were kept informed, had no surprises and were confident in the solution. It is nice to have the toilet fixed properly. They were on time for the visits. The rates are on par with other plumbers in the area.

We had a very good experience with Carrboro Plumbing.Technician Sim was here right on time, and resolved our problems (fixing leaking supply to toilet and cleaning clogged sink drain) quickly and efficiently. We highly recommend them, and will call on them again.

Don't bother with going to anyone else in the Carrboro area. Carrboro Plumbing needs to be your first call. The reps are very nice and explain what is happening. Eric is responsive and the office team keeps you in the loop. Will they be able to come immediately? Maybe. Maybe not. But that is the nature of the plumbing business and not a fault. They will be much more responsive than anyone else and in the end you will be MUCH happier. All the others in the local area were all too willing to charge me $3k to $6k for a new water heater but any repair put me on the wait list. Carrboro Plumbing was out the next day and fixed everything to my satisfaction for a 10th of the cost.

Very pleased with the service and repairs done. Making the appointment was easy; they came out the next day--not only on time but a little early! Our serviceman was Corey, who was incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Will definitely use Carrboro Plumbing again. Thank you for making this a painless experience.

We had completed a bathroom renovation using a different plumber (Unfortunately, I did not know about Carrboro plumbing at the time). We quickly discovered our dream bathroom had turned into a nightmare because the original plumber had botched the job, leaving multiple problems: a hand shower incorrectly installed, leaking tub faucets, and we were finding water in our crawl space. I was desperate to find someone I could trust to evaluate what was going on and make the necessary repairs.
I contacted Carrboro plumbing and Linda listened to my concerns with empathy and got us quickly scheduled. Jeff, the plumber, came out exactly on time and quickly figured out the problems we were having, including finding the source of the water in the crawl space- the original plumber never even connected the shower drain.
Part of our bathroom renovation had involved tiling the bathroom and shower. Jeff worked meticulously to problem solve a way to access the plumbing without cutting or damaging the tile. This was no easy feat because it involved cutting multiple small windows into the back of a built in entertainment center that was behind the bathroom wall, and working through those.
I am forever grateful to Jeff, Linda, and the Carrboro Plumbing team and can’t recommend them highly enough. We will never use a different plumber now that we’ve found these guys.
Their pricing is straightforward and fair. They clearly are experts at what they do, and work efficiently, but beyond that, they really seem to care. I know of very few people who would have taken the time to save the tile work that Jeff did. We are extremely grateful. I give Carrboro Plumbing my highest recommendations!!

The job at my house was a leaky toilet plus a clogged shower drain with the drain cover frozen in place. Not the most challenging job to be sure, but difficult enough that I hadn't been able to fix the problems myself. I was impressed by Carrboro Plumbing's efficiency and responsiveness. It took them less than 30 minutes to fix both problems, and the bill was reasonable. The plumber (Corey/Korey, not sure how to spell his name) was friendly and arrived early. Communication from the office was excellent.

Excellent service and great pricing. We had a leak in our crawl space and we couldn’t pinpoint the source. Jeff found the source (hall tub/shower) within a minute. While checking out the inside, I mentioned our toilet that doesn’t flush well and the one in the primary that recently started making noise. He quickly and efficiently repaired both and saved us what could have been a very high water bill. Definitely five star service!

This is a great plumbing company. During this past Holidays I was looking for a reliable plumber to fix some items for one of my properties. Emily and Linda find out the best time for one of their technicians to do the work at my house. Chris did an excellent job, I had no problems and they help me to have my house ready to close. New buyers were happy with the repairs. I will recommend this company to everyone. Thank you!
