Professional, responsive and understanding is what comes to mind. They performed the work, followed up appropriately and called the crew back to redo anything not up to standard.

When my insurance company refused to pay and made me jump through hoops, they helped me with resubmitting documentation, answered after hours text messages from me and coordinated with my adjuster.

The service level was unbelievable. I can’t say enough about Rumsey and it’s staff. A big thank you to Mike, Damien and crew as well as the office staff for being patient and professional even when I had to say, “no , I don’t have the checks yet “, multiple times for weeks. Thank you!

I’ve waited about 7 months to post a review to ensure I captured any pending items. My project was completed in November of 2023 and I worked with the Charlotte office.

I had water damage in my kitchen and bathroom directly above the kitchen. Rumsey helped with water damage repair and renovations.

Here are the pros:
- My contacts at Rumsey were Mike and I Gallardo (I think that was his name) and they were both great
- Gallardo helped with water damage. He was the first person I met from Rumsey. He was very informative, respectful and thorough. He inspected the house for water damage and set up machines to begin the drying and microbial treatment process.
-Mike was the project manager. I dealt primarily with him. Mike had good communication. He dealt directly with my insurance and followed up with them proactively. He was also very professional and knowledgeable. Through Mike, I also dealt with Ismael. Ismael was actually doing the work. Ismael’s crew was great.

Cons:
- Towards the beginning of this process (after I had given an initial payment) Mike was out on vacation. Mike did inform me of this when the process started and he provided me with contacts at Rumsey that I would be dealing with during his absence. My issue is that I didn’t hear a word from his backup (while Mike was out). After almost 3 weeks of no communication from Rumsey I gave them a call (this was after I emailed them). The front office person (I think her name was Jessica) was not helpful at all and was not interested in getting me in touch with anyone from Rumsey that could provide an update. My concern was that I was being scammed. Imagine giving down a significant amount of money and then receiving party goes missing. I did eventually hear back from Mike’s back-up but his update was not satisfactory (this is the reason I did not give them a 5 star review). I decided to be wait a few more days for Mike to get back and get an update from Mike. Thankfully, I did immediately hear back from Mike once he returned.

Review on the work performed:
The restoration and renovations went great. I am happy with the end results. There were a few hiccups along the way however Mike and Ismael took care of everything. All of the workers were very respectful and professional.

Other things to note:
Dealing with insurance takes a long time. My claim was filed late July and the entire process was not approved until October or so. Rumsey did work on the water damage during the waiting period. Once insurance approved my claim then the process moved along. They started in October and finished in November. I was happy with how long it took Rumsey to complete the project. Here’s a list of items that they worked on

- removal of anything with water damage (wall- kitchen and bathroom, cabinets, tub), removal of tile floor, removal of remaining cabinets, removal of kitchen island, moving water supply from point A to point B, installing new floor, cabinetry, stairs, kitchen island, countertops, kitchen sink, existing vanities and toilets.

Overall review, if I could work with Mike and Ismael again then I would go with Rumsey.

Trey with Rumsey Construction of Charlotte is an absolute gem! He was kind, considerate, and understanding of the situation my parents were in. He was always available to answer questions and was super helpful. Rumsey as a whole is easy to work with. I highly recommend this company to anyone who finds themselves in a water damage and restoration situation!

They arrived quickly, diagnosed the situation right away, and walked us through every step of the process with patience and empathy.

I own a condo in Uptown and recently had water damage, and a friend of mine recommended I call Rumsey. Josh came out and truly handled everything from drying, mediation and demo to making sure the reconstruction was exactly how I wanted it . His professionalism and communication were top-notch. Had a pipe leak in crawl space on 12/23/25. Fatman plumbing fixed the issue but we needed a clean up specialist and he recommended Rumsey Restoration. So glad he referred them to us! It was late in the evening and Josh was terrific! Dealing w owners that experience a leak and water requires patience and kindness. Josh and Trey were so understanding and considerate.

We had a dishwasher leak over time that caused extensive floor damage. From mitigation to restoration Rumsey C&R did a great job. As project manager of the restoration, Stephen Appell kept me well informed of the process and coordinated with the construction crew to ensure timely repair. Reeves Harvey coordinated selection of the new flooring and paint and was great to work with. Charles (I don’t know his last name) brought in a great crew of well skilled people. They performed the work quickly, neatly and the kitchen looks fantastic! Thank you men for taking such good care of us.

So my house had a l water leak buT it was bad it was in my walls and floors and it had mold every were then did a good job with fixing I had said I didn’t have space in my u-haul and I said I was picking it up when I got there people was going throw my sutff

Four weeks ago we had a serious water overflow in our house. This event flooded bathroom, two bedrooms, corridor, laundry room and kitchen area. The damage was extensive. From webpage I randomly picked a company and called Carolina water Damage company and I am glad that I did . Jake, from Carolina water company responded and arrived at our place within half an hour and quickly installed equipments for mitigation. After mitigation was done in couple of days, repair work that included bathroom vanity, carpets, flooring , base boards and painting etc was carefully estimated and then carried out quietly and completed proficiently. Jake also kept our insurance company in the loop throughout . Jake is very efficient, polite and friendly Individual and I would strongly recommend him for water damage mitigation and repair work.

Jake, the owner, showed up at our house an hour after some flooding occurred. He diagnosed and handled the issue very clearly, and within 48 hours all our floors and drywall were completely dry. He’s very personable and professional, and he does his work at a very good value. I hope I never have to talk to him again, but if life happens then I’m absolutely calling Carolina Water Damage Restoration.

I recently had a water leak and my entire upper level was flooded. I called Carolina Water Damage Restoration for help. Jake came out in less than an hour and went straight to work. He not only helped us with cleanup and repair, he also helped with the insurance process. He is very responsive, polite, and helpful. I highly recommend this company.

I cannot recommend this company enough! If you have any water damage issues, Jake from Carolina Water Damage and Restoration is the only person you need to call. Jake was at my house within 30 minutes of my first call. I had a leak in our 2nd floor laundry room that soaked through the ceiling, walls, and flooring on the 1st floor. Jake was quick to assess all of the damage and provided extensive photos/documentation for insurance. He even worked directly with the insurance company to make sure all the necessary repairs were covered.

For the cleanup and restoration work, Jake was careful to protect all my belongings and he made sure I could live and work from home with as little interruption as possible. He organized every step of the project and was always responsive to calls and texts. He went above and beyond to get the project across the finish line, and I am incredibly thankful for all the work Jake and his team did on the house.

CWDR did a phenomenal job on my parents' house after we had late night plumbing issue that resulted in water damage through 3/4 of the house and the mitigation required drying out several rooms, flooring repair and carpet restoration. Jake works fast, efficiently and documented every step of his work which made it super easy to provide the information our insurance and warranty company needed to cover the cost. The house is a new construction and the builder's have their own list of approved vendors, we were so impressed with Jake's work that recommended that they include CWDR in their list for future work. We couldn't be more pleased with how nicely everything was restored back to new. He made sure that despite all the work that needed to be done, that we still were able to function normally, which was a huge blessing given that everyone is staying home and quarantining these days.

I highly recommend Jake and Carolina Water Damage Restoration of Charlotte. We had a washing machine overflow on the second floor of our home. Jake came to our house and performed the demo and mold remediation himself very quickly. He is extremely responsive, professional, fair priced, and respectful. He was invaluable in helping us navigate the insurance claims process and subcontractors for repairing the extensive damage to our home. At one point, we thought our cat had escaped, and Jake insisted on helping us look for him. Great guy. I hope we do not have any water damage in the future, but if we do, Jake will be our first call without a doubt.
