I was concerned about a few spots that I thought could be leaks. H & S had a wait time (because they are so popular) until they could send someone out to check. They said they would call if there was a cancellation, and sure enough, they did! Billy came out. He was on time, friendly, and professional. He was able to quickly assess two areas as being unrelated to roof leaks. He comprehensively investigated the third area, going up into the attic, and then outside on the roof. He didn't feel there was any issue with the roof, although he was nice enough to fix a small area with a nail that needed attention. His advice was to keep a watch on the area on the ceiling over the next several rains, and see if it grows. He was reassuring about the roof in general, pointing out that it had normal aging, but nothing in need of immediate attention. He didn't try to scare me into doing anything. It is wonderful to have a local business such as H & S - that is skilled, trustworthy and reliable. And most of all, run with integrity!

Just had H&S replace the flat roof over our den. From the very detailed quote we received from Ned, to the office staff that kept us up to date on the scheduling of our project, to the crew that installed the roof, they were all outstanding. The crew arrived on time, was courtous and professional, the job was completed on-time and they left our yard impeccably clean.

Our experience was amazing. They were responsive, professional, and reasonable. They were able to diagnose our problem with the leaking roof and sent an experienced person to make the necessary repairs. Jim has helped us with a couple roofing needs in the past year. One was a minor leak that was a little difficult to figure out where it was coming from, but Jim approached the problem in a very smart, experienced way. H&S is professional and easy to work with.

H & S Roofing was one of four estimates that I got for a new roof. They were not the cheapest or most expensive. The reason that I choose to go with them is that they are the only ones that actually got on the roof to evaluate my situation. My thought was, if the other three estimators were too lazy to get on the roof, then chances are that mentality carries over to the rest of the company. My new roof is about two weeks old, has made it through one night of thunderstorms with no leaks. The roof looks fantastic and the installers finished ahead of schedule.

We used H&S to replace the roof on a home we were buying for my mother-in-law. Jim was very easy to work with, and helped as we worked through paperwork with the insurance company to get the project completed timely and efficiently. I referred H&S to 2 of my elderly neighbors. Ned personally visited them and worked up the quotes. It is so nice to be able to trust Ned to take care of my neighbors! I was proud that they both used H&S for their new roofs!
We will always use H&S for our roofing and gutter needs.

First of all, I WOULD recommend H&S for full roof replacement. I have a two story home in Union County, NC. The roof replacement cost me $15,600.

My roof replacement started on the morning of Jan 26, 2022, and ended 24 hours later on Jan 27. Francis Lopez, the crew foreman, cleaned up nails dropped on the lawn, hauled off the shingles, and swept the driveway.

Derek McMillion, my first contact with H&S, gave me a contract with a solid estimate. He remembered some special trim work I wanted to have done to prevent water from running off the roof and splattering one of my wood framed windows. H&S also did most of the paperwork, including pulling a building permit.

The person I worked with at the main office ( I forget her name) was friendly and professional. All of my questions were answered in an acceptable timeframe, meaning they answered immediately or the next day. After I paid for the job, their office mailed all the H&S and GAF Roofing warrantees in a nice packet.

Francis Lopez' crew did a good job replacing the roof and preserving my gutters, gutter screens, and shrubbery. They found 5 squares of OSB that needed replacing. Three squares were included at no extra cost. I paid a reasonable price for the extra 2 squares. They also replaced and caulked all the flashing, installed a new ridge vent, replaced an attic fan, and a new vent for one of the bathrooms.

My wife and I think the roof looks wonderful.

The only issue I had (and it's a minor issue) is that one/some of the crew stepped on two of my outdoor landscape lights, even though I had tagged the lights with bright orange tape. However, the lights were just knocked over and were not damaged/broken. It took me about 10 minutes to correct the problem.

After getting a total of five estimates for having my gutters replaced, I went with H & S. Three things stood out and these things were the reason I chose them:

1. I dealt primarily with Jim Strahan. He was no-pressure and very responsive to questions or concerns. He did not rush through things and really spent time explaining options, whereas other companies seemed to want to rush through the consult to move on to the next one.

2. All four of the other companies quoted outrageous prices, very much out of line with what the work should cost. H & S's price was fair and reasonable.

3. When the work was done, it was all done in less than a half of a day. Efficient and solid work.

Highly recommended.

We contacted H&S to repair our roof after noticing a leak. The office staff and the gentleman who came to prepare the estimate were very helpful and professional. The roofer was also professional and knowledgeable and is one of the hardest workers we have met. We will be using only
H & S roofing in the future.

We had our roof done in April of 2017 and after reviewing several quotes decided to entrust the work to H&S Roofing. We were not disappointed!

After awarding the work to H&S Roofing we received information that their scheduler would be in touch with us in a few days. We were advised a few days later on when the work would start and that it would take 3-4 days. We followed the H&S instructions on preparing for their work. Several workman appeared on time on the agreed upon day. The work was completed ahead of schedule something highly unusual given the scarcity of qualified construction workers. Every evening the entire area surrounding the house was cleaned; all debris cleared and hauled away. The workers were professional, friendly, orderly and courteous at all times.

While the roof was being done we also had some work entrusted to a general contractor and his opinion was that the work was done very well and the result more than acceptable.

Our overall experience with H&S Roofing was excellent and we recommend this firm highly.

Derek was great to work with on both of our roof issues. We were thankful for the honest and truthful evaluation of our roof needs. Well definitely call them for any additional repairs or roof replacement!

I have had a pleasure working with Derek M as a salesmen for our roofing issues, he was very professional and polite and figured out the problem in a timely manner. Dylan M was the service tech that came and fixed the issue, he was also very polite and knowledgeable with the issue that had occured. They both did an excellent job and I highly recommend this company.

I wanted to give them a positive review, but our latest experience has left a sour note. We used them last year to replace the roof on the house we purchased. To my knowledge they did a solid job and the roof looks good. We removed our tanked water heater for a tankless shortly after, and noticed a few weeks ago that there was small water mark on the ceiling where a patch was under the old water heater plume. I called out Derek (who is great to work with). He told us that since the roof was new and shouldn't be leaking that they would cover the repairs at cost. In an ideal world a less than 1 year old roof should have been under warranty from labor issues and cost me nothing, but I wanted the leak fixed, so I agreed to the repairs. They called for a 4'x4' piece of plywood be replaced along with a 6'x6' section of shingles. I was home the day the technician came out. He was in and out in less than 20mins and did not do what I agreed to pay for. The patch was made, but just in a more simple manner than I agreed to pay for. I called the team to simply adjust the amount owed as the repair tech only put a small patch and maybe replaced 8 sqft of shingles. All I asked for was to adjust the total amount down to match the services done vs quoted. Instead, they sent out the guy again with little notice and he started tearing off a LOT of my roof and doing repairs without my consent. He also spoke almost no English, so I was not able to communicate my concerns with them. I understand not everyone is going to be fluent in English, but if there is a problem with someone's roof maybe send someone who is a bit more fluent incase any further issues arise. He did a 2nd set of patching & repairs, but still did not do what I was quoted for. I got billed for the same amount despite me calling multiple times that what was provided was NOT what I signed for. The only thing they did was remove the cost of the plywood and charge me instead way too much for 2 feet of 1x6 board. They refused to adjust their quote despite the guy only replacing at most 12sqft of shingles despite me paying for 36sqft in the quote. As a first time home owner I naively thought they were working in good faith, but I won't make that mistake again. I paid the amount as it had been almost 1 month with no resolution and I wanted to move on with my life. I harbor no ill feelings, but this whole ordeal reeks of money over customer satisfaction, so they have unfortunately lost me as a customer and I cannot recommend them to anyone else. I only ask that H&S, please work on your internal communication, it seems like you are large company and things fall through the cracks easily leading to unfortunate situations like this.

Called H & S out to look at our roof 12 years after they installed it. They saw about 20 nails around the perimeter were trying to back out and hold up the edge of shingles slightly . Fixed this mostly cosmetic issue same day for free. Awesome company and excellent workers.

Derek McMillion saved this business relationship. As a prior customer, I used H&S after hail damaged my roof. I had some issues with the original estimator (assigned by management) and some poor flashing work by the crew, but Derek, my regular representative, came in at my request and corrected all issues. If you choose H&S, insist on Derek as your rep. His knowledge, professionalism, attention to detail and responsiveness is refreshing and very much appreciated.

Our roof was damaged after a bad storm in June and thankfully we were referred to H&S. I would highly, highly recommend their service for anything in the home related to your roof. We received an extremely competitive estimate for replacing our roof and the crew was out about 2 days later to get to work. I thought it would have taken them a couple days to complete the job but they were able to replace the entire roof in one day! It even rained sporadically through the day a couple times and they didn't quit until the job was done. The crew was super friendly and professional and Randi was a pleasure to work with. Thanks to H&S for turning an other wise terrible scenario into a positive with our beautiful new roof!
