Renu Energy Solutions, LLC, did terrific work installing solar panels on our house, parts of which date to the 1890s. The job couldn't have been more complicated, with multiple rooftops and an arcane, tangled electrical panel. The installation and electrical teams were both excellent--capable, hardworking, patient, knowledgeable, and communicative. They left the job site spotless and followed up with clear communications and instructions for moving forward. If you want to go solar, this is the company to work with.

I had a fantastic experience with Renu Solar Energy from start to finish. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. Excellent experience with Renu. Every person involved, from the original sales rep, site review, electrical team, solar team, and the project manager. Great service to the very end. We even had a problem with a vendor device where they had to come swap it out, but they scheduled it immediately the same day.

Getting solar panels is a big undertaking and Renue handled all communication and set up extremely well. I personally dealt with Megan Price as our installation manager and she was amazing. The sales/installation/electrical teams were all top notch.

We started with Renu for solar after hearing about them from the Piedmont Environmental Alliance (PEA). From the first call through Sales, Engineering, Installation, Financing, Approvals and Support this has been a fantastic experience. Renu took care of just about everything including working with Duke and the county inspectors. When we did need to do something, they guided us every step of the way. We have NEVER worked with a company that had all its stuff together this well. I wish I remembered all the names of their wonderful people so I could call them out here but a couple stick. Aaron from Sales, Devin and Megan from Project Management, Calli from Operations and Will from the install team as well as all of their coworkers have my thanks and respect. Anybody asks, we say call Renu, they’ll get it done right. Note: just got our first full month Duke statement since activating the system and we are more than thrilled with the results. We are excited to be producing clean energy and saving money while doing it.

I’d seen reviews here about Renu Energy Solutions from the past that were very positive, along with great ratings on BBB. I want to share my story so anyone interested in solar knows the other side.

My first year solar production was 57% less than contracted rate. I received 43% of what I paid nearly $40,000 for. I have a contract that states my solar would produce 9602kWh (after change order) for a system that was installed and turned on in October 2024. In July, we knew we were never going to meet that number and something was wrong with the system. We attempted to call several times before I finally emailed multiple leaders at Renu Energy Solutions asking for help on 7/23. What I got was a response from Ariel confirming my system was under producing and a constant disregard of my requests to have someone fix it. We are now 3 months into asking for help and not a single person from Renu has agreed to fix the solar, step foot on my property to look at the solar, or even speak with me on the phone.

I believe they have no intent on delivering the production values they quote and use their “we’ll pay your Duke bills” guarantee to profit on over-charging for an outcome they don’t intend to deliver on.This was my experience, which may be a one-off or a change in how the company is run. I can’t speak to that, but I can speak to what is currently happening to my household at the time of this review.

Renu recently installed solar panels on my house. Renu is one of the best companies I have worked with. They were so easy to work with; they handled all the communications with the Historic District City. They overcommunicated, their installers were polite, professional, and cleaned up after themselves. I have researched solar for over three years and after last year’s hurricane, decided it was time to get a PV/battery system. After hearing pitches from two different companies, I was worried. Then I spoke with the team at Renu! From sales (Thanks Almir!!) to operations (Megan is awesome) to the excellent install team (Connor on the roof and Justin leading electrical), I cannot say enough good things about my experience!! They handled EVERYTHING! All of my questions were answered, HOA coordination, install, explaining the system and continual follow up throughout the process. Absolutely enjoyed opening my first “post solar PTO” and seeing a negative balance! Thanks Renu!!

The staff was extremely professional, kind, and understanding. I obtained an initial quote, they came out and did a site survey and finalized the quote, unfortunately the project was denied by my HOA but they were very understanding and provided a refund. The communications were regular, the information was substantial but not overwhelming. Through my experience, This is a fantastic company, and in the future I plan on going through them again!

Had an issue with a Renu project delay. Worked with several reps, eventually working with Ben (Customer Satisfaction) and Hannah (Dir of Ops). Reached a fair resolution primarily due to Ben and (especially) Hannah’s professional, thoughtful, and reasonable approaches. My confidence was restored in RENU’s dedication to good customer service.

Despite extensive growth at this top rated solar services company, they proved in the end that the customer’s concerns DO matter. I feel that potential customers would want to know that they demonstrated a fair, professional approach and resolution. As a long time RENU customer. I needed to see this - AND I DID!

The staff at Renu energy were all courteous and knows their role in the process. From start to finish they were able to update me on next steps. The staff who installed the panels were very careful in the installation process and it was fast. They were out of the house like in 5 hours including battery and other installation. My sister had hers installed with another company and took her 8 hours. So I was really impressed.

I am very happy with Renu Energy. The planning, installation, inspection and setup of my online account was all excellent. The Cary, NC installation team was knowledgeable and professional. After the installation I requested a modification (adding a squirrel guard on the roof panels). The team has assured me that it will be added. I highly recommend Renu Energy Solutions.

Great experience buying a Tesla Powerwall from Renu. I wanted to add solar but my HOA said no. Dan is an amazing rep and always gets back to you ASAP.

The preparation for weeks in advance was impressively thorough and detailed. The install crews were skilled, polite, clean, and willing to answer questions and educate us. It’s a sunny day and we’re making our own electricity!

Panels are good, installers were awesome, but once they're up, good luck getting any service. I've been trying for 3 months to get someone to service my SPAN panel (insatlled with the system). Immediately after install, 3 breakers trip twice a week shutting off power to multiple rooms. I've emailed & called the project team, my salesman, installers and warranty division. I've filled out multiple online requests. No one has ever called me back. When I do get a person, they transfer me to a voice mailbox or a disconnected number.

UPDATE 11/17/25: ReNu & SunService came out and fixed my panel. It didn't take them long to knock out the work. The repair guy was fast, friendly and explained to me what he was doing and the scope of the work. I do love my Solar system. It's easily saving my $120+ dollars a month on my power bill, and more importantly, it's kept me powered and online when outages hit, no matter how brief they are. Thank you Renu & SunService.
