Staff here is great! David Root rebuilt and painted my boat starter in just a few hours. Brand new starter for 1/2 the price of a new one! Highly Recommend them!!!

Great place for electrical automotive parts

The only place you should get your alternators repaired or rebuilt. In fact you’ll spend less here for a rebuilt alternator than at any auto parts store. And the rebuilt one here is vastly superior to any one you buy at an auto store. David is extremely knowledgeable and efficient. He’s also fixed mine in less than a day. And he’s very friendly and stands by his work. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Did an absolutely miracle job on my 1967 BMW Bosch alternator (seized) and Bosch starter motor. Both look like new and are in perfect working order. Besides the fact that it is hard to find original parts for this car, the complete overhaul of these parts turned out to cost little compared to new purchase and they really look like new. Dave goes out of his way to satisfy his customers, he knows that if he treats them right they will refer people and write reviews like these. Thanks Dave for a great job! Once I have my car finished I will show you the result you were part of.

A few months back the alternator went on my 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan and no one had a replacement available. I found Carolina auto electric and these guys did an awesome job rebuilding my alternator it was the original part and they made it look and run like new again. Guys you get what you pay for and these guys know there stuff. I will be bringing them the alternator from my 2005 Chevy Tahoe. A++

Excellent service!!! Dropped off my starter off my Yamaha 250 outboard not sure what was wrong with it, got it back the same day! They didn't charge me for any unnecessary parts and couldn't have been more courteous!!! Wish I could give 10 stars, highly recommend!!!!!

Great place to deal with. First they looked to see if they had a replacement starter, and when they didn't, I asked if they could rebuild mine; "give me a couple hours". Perfect! When I picked it up that afternoon, they couldn't take credit cards b/c of a power outage, and I didn't have cash. I said no problem, I'll get some cash and grab it tomorrow. They said take it with you, stop by when you can. And they'd never seen or met me before. Anyhow, due to circumstances, it took me a couple days to get back there and pay them, which I did today, and they were just as cordial and helpful as the day before. Recommend them to anyone needing auto electric work done.

Last month I took my worn out alternator to Carolina Auto Electric, and the next day they returned it to me as good as new using non-Chinese parts. These guys are awesome!!! They saved me $1000 by completely rebuilding my generator head (electric motor) that now looks like it's brand new and runs like a brand new one too. They're very nice, helpful and professional. Thank you so much for the help.

Took a JD 430 starter for rebuild. They had no issues and it appears to work great since installation

I needed an alternator rebuilt, i took it to Dave and the repair was done in record time, a few hours at best. Took it home and replaced, had an issue with it. Called Dave and brought it back. He stopped all he was doing to assit my repair, not once but on two seperate days, rebuilt my alternator 2 more times only to find out it was not his problem but a faulty ground wire on my truck. He did this at no extra charge and i know this repair cost him money. I am very pleased with the service and hope that anyone needing repair of alternator or starter would give them their business. You won't be sorry. I have never got vehicle service anywhere that took such great care of their customer, from price, parts, service. Great work, good service on rebuild of my supplied alternator. Minor delay with UPS parts delivery. Good pricing compared to parts stores like Advance or O'Reillys.

You (do not wanna take your electric motors )to this person he does not follow up he does not return your phone calls poor customer service all around.
After waiting 2 years for him to fix my motor and fine parts for it. I went his shop he said he throw it way or at bottom of his trailer he look for and he short of staff. I waited over another week and called him left message for a update. No return phone call. Waited another week call him again got hold him he told me he will not warranty motor fix and it's left there over 90 days he follow it a way. He also told he will look for it when he get to it. Really bad customer service try someone else.

Friendly folks, and good service. Brought an alternator to be rebuilt here. Finished up the job in a couple hours and the part worked great when reinstalled in the vehicle. The price to have it rebuilt wasn't much less than just buying a new one online though.

I've had a few starters and alternators rebuilt here for my business and personal car. David always does excellent work. Pricing is very reasonable and the rebuilds are done extremely quickly (no skimping here!) and right the first time. MUCH better quality and specialized work than what you would get at a big parts store. A true local asset in Charlotte for this type of repair.

These guys are awesome. I took my 25 year old starter here to get rebuilt. The guys were super busy but knocked it out in a few hours for me.
