What can I say? Great family, genuinely friendly from the first time I stopped by. David did some kind of conversion to my alternator that allowed my Jeep to bypass my failing PCM and it worked! Saved me a lot of money that I didn’t have at the time and I’m still scratching my head at amazement as to how he did it. I’m truly grateful for what he did. Second time I have used Carolina auto electric. Both interactions were excellent. Owner really knows what he is talking about. Today he was able to identify my starter I had in my caterpillar C7 with just a photo. I would highly recommend using Carolina auto electric instead of replacing Parts with Chinese knock offs. Owner contacted me after hours to confirm the starter installed and worked. Great customer service!

Wow! One of the finest repair experiences I have ever had, regardless of type. A first time client, they treated me like I was their most important customer. Very old starter repaired within 24 hours for a very reasonable cost.

All service businesses could learn a thing or two from these folks. First Class, all the way! We are now a customer for life.

I recently had my alternator on my 2007 Jeep Wrangler Sahara completely rebuilt to like new standards. I have a lifetime warranty on the alternator and it looks beautiful.
Original OEM/American made parts were used to complete the rebuild unlike others which are made in China.
The service was exceptional and I was back in service the same day. These people are amazing. I saved money as well by going this route. Thanks for a great experience.

Amazing experience today!!!! I came here after my battery seemed to be dead and my check engine light came on last night. I first went to Auto Zone because it was close by only to be told
I would need a new battery even though mine was fairly new as well as parts for an alternator. I decided to get a second opinion and found Carolina Auto Electric and it was the best decision ever!! They got me in very quickly with no appointment and was able to take a look at my vehicle and within minutes realized the wires to my battery were loose and had some buildup. Problem solved and check engine light off! I felt so grateful to get help without someone seeing me as a walking dollar sign because I’m a women coming in with car issues. Such amazing and friendly service.They have definitely won a customer for life:)

1 day turnaround rebuilding a Leece Neville starter from a '95 Ford/Cummins/Thomas bus. They only use the best components and no cheapo-commie crap!

Heard about these guys through A friend. Had a customer come into my shop with a battery drain. Diagnosed it as a bad alternator. It had been installed by another shop and after sending it back 3 different times to the manufacturer and getting it back bad,we decided to try this company. TOP NOTCH CUSTOMER SERVICE !! Sold us a new alternator after dissembling the original part another company had sold us and seeing it was a mess. Installed the new alternator from these guys and fixed it.

I'm new to the area and don't have a mechanic yet. I couldn't have my alternator removed to bring to them, so i just called and asked them if I could tow the car in. They said they don't usually do that but allowed me to do so. I sincerely appreciate them working with me and getting the job done. Great attitudes and customer service. I'd recommend them to anyone. My car drives so much better now!

(Original Review): got me a new starter for my CHIPPER MACHINE, no one else could come up with an answer, he got mine ready right away, at a very comfortable price too, highly recomended !!

Had a generator off my 1950 ford 8n tractor gone bad and hard to find a replacement. Well in two days this family had it rebuilt and ready and if not for fed ex they would have had it ready next day.
This family business is a dying breed of people who do quality fast work hands down!

These guys were GREAT! I have a Japanese mini truck and parts are hard to source, had my alternator go bad on it, was looking at about 2 weeks to get a refurbished one from Japan. Brought it there around 8am, had it completely overhauled and ready to be reinstalled in under 4 hours. Thank you Carolina Auto Electric!! You guys were great, and I will be sending anyone that needs your services your way!!

Just took my kids dirt bike starter here that has failed. The bike is so new the OEM parts are astronomically expensive and the aftermarket parts don’t exist yet. Carolina Auto Electric fixed me up in 2 days for a great price. They cleaned, lubed, tested, and repainted this thing. They just made a customer for life. I can’t thank them enough!

Take a look at the pics. Can you believe these are just rebuilt ones? They really went above and beyond to rebuild my alternator and starter. These things look brand new! Nobody does a rebuild job like they do! This is definitely the place to go to if you want a proper rebuild.

If you want a state if the art facility that can rebuild your OEM alternator and starter's back to better than new condition, then take them to David @ Carolina Electric in Charlotte, and they will save you money and get you the best quality rather than buy remanufactured parts from the chain parts stores that buy from China. I've been using Carolina Auto Electric for 3 years and just recently had my Bosch alternator rebuilt with all brand new parts for 60% less than the chain store would charge for a foreign part!
