Cant say enough about the staff of smoke alert. From the office personel to the techs what an amazing group. As a first responder it was comforting to find a company that employs them to bring that level of comfort to my home. Jake came today to service my gas fireplace. The level of professionalism was unmatched, he explained everything, and answered all my questions. Amazing tech and cant wait to use them in the future.

We had our chimney inspected and cleaned up today by Smoke Alert. Charlie was wonderful - after clearing out a pretty filthy chimney while somehow keeping things very clean, he reviewed safety considerations and gave us really helpful guidance on work that needed to be done to make it useable. Highly recommend these guys!

Brandon L. did an excellent job replacing my dryer hose and cleaning the dryer vent. He was professional, respectful, and thoughtful and even taking his shoes off before walking inside, which I really appreciated. My dryer is working perfectly now! Thank you so much, Brandon. Had a fantastic experience with Charlie from Smoke Alert! He provided chimney cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, and smoke detector checks for our home and was absolutely wonderful to work with. Charlie is professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to share helpful tips about using our fireplace safely and keeping our home protected from fire hazards.

He was also very respectful of our home, carefully covering all surfaces and ensuring everything was spotless when he finished. It’s rare to find someone who combines great service with genuine care for their customers, but Charlie absolutely does.

We are very pleased with Smoke Alert's services. Jacob Evans was our technician today. He let us know when he was on the way and arrived very shortly after. Jacob is very professional, friendly and efficient. He serviced our fireplace, cleaning and inspecting it. He explained everything very clearly, including reviewing home fire safety. We feel the fee charged is very fair and reasonable, especially considering the high level of professional service provided.
We are also impressed with Abby. She answers the phone and is very polite and friendly.

Mark G. is, hands down, the best fireplace technician out there. If you’re looking for top-notch service in Raleigh, look no further. From start to finish, Mark was incredibly professional, punctual, knowledgeable, and hard-working — but what truly set him apart was how kind, warm, and genuinely friendly he is. It honestly felt like having a longtime friend over for coffee while he worked on our fireplace.

He went above and beyond, thoroughly cleaning out years of built-up debris (including part of a dead squirrel 🤢), and was extremely meticulous in making sure everything was spotless, properly set up, and fully functional. He took the time to answer all of our questions and never made us feel rushed.

On top of that, Mark checked our smoke detectors and noticed they were expired by many years — something we deeply appreciated, especially with a baby on the way. That level of care and attention made us feel truly looked after.

We were able to get an appointment that fit our schedules with no problem—the young lady I spoke to was very nice and accommodating. Our tech, Charlie, arrived on time at the front end of the arrival window. He was friendly, courteous, professional and very thorough. He cleaned out our dryer vent (which was pretty bad after not quite two years since its last cleaning) and made some good recommendations for helping our dryer’s efficiency. Then he thoroughly cleaned and inspected our fireplace, also making some good recommendations. It is well worth spending the money to be fire safe, and I would highly recommend Smoke Alert—and Charlie—to anyone who needs a clean dryer vent and fireplace!

Craig and Johnathon were extraordinary in the installation of my fireplace insert. It was brutally cold and never once did they complain. They made sure I knew how to operate the woodstove safely. They were polite and cleaned up everything and started a fire for me before they left. My Corgis, Indianna and Jax approved of them also. Ask Craig about the spider 🕷️!!!!!!

The team at Comfort Wizards really care. They take the time to make sure I know all my options and Harland talked me through the pros and cons of each. I trust them to have my best interests in what they do.

This company is a service partner with my home warranty. Worst customer service. When I first called to schedule a service call, I was told that a technician will come out on Monday and he’ll call 45 minutes before he arrives, with NO timeframe. So I didn’t even know if he’d come in the morning or afternoon or what. On Monday, at 12pm I called to confirm the appointment, I was told the technician was at the current service call and I’d be next. I called again at 2pm and was told the same thing and that “he’d be on his way soon.” At 4:30pm I called again and was told “Oh I’m sorry his current service call is taking all day so I don’t think I’ll be able to get someone out there for you today.” They had me waiting all day and didn’t bother to call and let me know that the technician won’t be able to come. To me, that is unprofessional and unacceptable. I’ll make sure to spread the word about this company.

I can't say enough about how great this team is. The repair guys are very friendly and helpful, and they really take pride in their work and want to do the best job possible. Very flexible about addressing emergencies. I completely recommend!

My AC broke over 6 weeks ago, in the middle of a NC summer. They were hired by our insurance company to complete the job. We are still waiting. A month and half of being homeless and they do not care. I call them every day, they tell me they will call me right back with answers and never return the call. Can I give them negative stars? I just want to live in my home again.

Do not ever hire them, I have never seen such incompetence and lack of integrity from a company.

Harlie and team replaced my whole HVAC system. They did a great job at a great price, and were super friendly and professional. Would recommend to anybody with HVAC needs.

If I could give zero stars I would. This company is deceitful and greedy. The technician will diagnose you with problems you might not even have, so the company can rake in more dollars. The receptionist is very rude and unprofessional, on numerous occasions I have asked to speak with a boss or supervisor. Her response " oh he's busy" every time. BEWARE, if you don't believe me, just look at the yelp reviews and don't be fooled by the google reviews. If you're going through your home warranty with this company, just forget about them even fixing it, they will give you any excuse in the book to avoid fixing your unit.

Harley reponded quickly, it was Memorial Day weekend and super hot. He let me know where he was at on his list and kept me updated. He knew I had a small infant in the house and was thoughtful not to ring doorbell...just went straight to work letting me know status through texts since baby was sleeping. I would definitely recommend service to friends.

Would not recommend. They were supposed to come out last week and at the last minute canceled. Then, they called yesterday and pushed appointment back by 2 hours. Then was late for that appointment. Supposed to check Air Conditioning unit, but never even turned it on (how do you check a unit if you don't even turn it on?). Tried calling in today to see what was going on and have not heard back.
