If you want personal care from an individual rather than a company (who will send out a different tech each time you make a call) and you want wisdom from an experienced provider and you want honesty, then Ed Cline is your guy! He came promptly on time to fix a clog that was causing water to fill the pan/tray beneath the AC unit in the attic. He jokingly told us he would love to charge us for some freon but we simply didn't need ANY and said other than the clog, our system was in great condition. Mr. Cline was not in a hurry and gave our system a thorough check. ALSO, he answers his own phone! That's a plus these days!

Do not hesitate to contact Ed. He is quick and concise: yet, communicates extremely well. He has taught me a great deal about HVAC during his visits. I have called on his expertise for my home's A/C and heating and also at my professional locations.

Absolutely awesome experience with this company. The previous company that came out said we had to replace the unit and there was ZERO feasible alternative. Well, my husband is a keen lie detector and even though the technician who came out seemed to exude integrity, it was not true. The man was LYING and making a special effort to rip us off. So Rainbow Services saved the day. The fellow didn't charge us anything beyond the service fee to come out and get everything running strong and smooth again. Will absolutely recommend to closest friends and family and to anyone who is sick of dealing with liars and con artists under a clean, corporate guise. Trustworthy, competent, friendly, human, and totally earnest. Perfect experience!

It is always hard to find specialists who you can depend on and trust. When you find one, like Ed and Rainbow Services, it is a joy to be able to tell others about their work. Rainbow Services is all about maintaining and servicing what you depend on to keep your home heated and cooled. You won't be disappointed in the quality of the work!

We have had an on again off again problem with our air conditioning problem on very hot days for about a month now and after being told we had to wait 2 weeks for the original installer to come out, I did some research and found Ed aka Rainbow services. The reviews all looked good so I decided to give him a shot.

He came out yesterday the 23rd of June and approximately 2 hours later we had a fully working system. I got some education on what not to do and what to do that no one else cared to point out to me prior to this. Listen to him. He had to replace the air conditioner condensate pump, fix a damper for one of the 3 zones we have that was stuck and do a Freon top up. Good work, fair price and honest and he'll be doing my service from this point forward.

Wow. You simply will not beat the level of expertise and honest advice that Ed Cline can give you.

I called him to potentially get a quote for a system replacement and he spent 45 minutes on the phone with me discussing options. After the discussion, I have a completely different take on what I should be doing to improve my home HVAC.

His advice will lead me to spend less money and get more value. If you have a problem or need a repair, I HIGHLY recommend you start with Ed!

Wow! What terrific service. My AC was not working, and Ed came within hours of my phone call. He' knows everything about air conditioners, and I'm happily sitting in my cool home. He is a man of integrity, and he's highly skilled. I recommend him highly!

Ed is my go to guy now. He's installed my ac unit, has an amazing attention to detail and just finished getting the blower on my Hvac unit working again. He is willing to teach you about what he is doing and more importantly why. I would recommend him to anyone that wants a job done right on the first call.

Ed was exactly what we were looking for. After noticing some issues with the consistency of our heating in the house I reached out to a local provider (ARS) and was told much the same as everyone else here reports.Almost all my furnace components were bad, and needed to be replaced. The repair estimate alone with almost $2800 and the technician "strongly advised" me against it saying I would be wasting my money, and the only alternative was a full replacement for how ever much that would be. I wanted a completely opposite opinion from a local, independent expert...and Ed fit that mold perfectly.

He was prompt with both his communication and response. Candid with me during the entire process, and welcomed me along during his work. He was great at explaining what he was doing, and why. The faulty valve he discovered, while still not a cheap fix, was a fraction of what I was being told needed to be repair/replaced. The repair was completed in just over an hour.

Rainbow has become my trusted go to based on this experience, and I'd be happy to be a referral or recommendation to anybody with similar issues.

I've posted to my friends on facebook, but it's also time for larger shout out. Bear with me while I rave about Ed Cline and Rainbow Services Raleigh! We are fortunate enough to have 3 of our Raleigh homes under contract, and if you've sold a house, the inspection can be a nail biter...For each home Ed personally reviewed the inspection list and not only knows NC code so well, knew what was legit and what was "added fluff" on each report, but his work is fast and his work ethic and honesty can not be matched by any other contractor, home repair, HVAC person I've ever met. His prices are very reasonable. I have used him now 6 times for anything from AC tune up, diagnosing and then installing a new AC capacitor, to installation of a new heat exchanger, to numerous inspections on various homes. Did I rave enough? I don't think so. Ed is awesome. It was amazing for me to have such a great experience, especially since I now live almost 3,000 miles away from the house he did work on. He is responsive to emails & phone calls and does not hesitate to contact with questions or updates. Invoicing is clear and easy to pay with various methods. Tell your local friends & family...need AC/HVAC work? Want the best? Here you go, you are welcome!

I have used Rainbow Services the past two times I've had trouble with my HVAC systems. Ed has been in the business for a long time and comes across as very knowledgeable, honest, and fair -- all qualities that are very hard to find in service technicians, let alone all 3! Ed's prices are fair, and he even included two coupon discounts ($20 each) on my invoice without me mentioning (or even knowing about) them. It's refreshing to work with a service technician who tries to find ways to help you out on the price instead of the all-too-familiar hidden costs and up selling techniques most people use.

I strongly recommend Rainbow Services to anyone needing heating and/or AC work and lucky enough to be within Ed's coverage area.

BTW - I have already paid for my most recent service visit, so I'm not getting a discount for writing a review. I just felt compelled to share my experience to help others who, like myself, rely on internet reviews for pretty much everything.

Ed repaired my dog-chewed thermostat wiring, and gave my 2 units an inspection in the process. He was prompt and very transparent about what work he was doing, what was worth it, what wasn't, and he was reasonably priced overall.

Definitely will contact him again for the next work I need.

Ed Cline is honest, dependable, and most importantly, trustworthy. When something is truly in need of service, he will do it effectively and at a fair price. If nothing is wrong, he will never try to unfairly promote his services. He is a rare find and will always take care of his customers. I have used Ed for the past 6 years, and I hope to have him around as long as I live in the area.

We came home after a weekend away to find our upstairs heat pump not working. I did a quick search on Google this morning and found the reviews for Ed's service. The reviews were all positive, but what I was particularly looking for was a person who would diagnose and fix the problem, rather than telling me I needed a new system. The reviews on Ed were definitely along those lines. I called, he answered immediately, and met me at my house in 20 minutes. (Full disclosure, he had another call that had cancelled; otherwise, it would have taken longer.) He quickly assessed and fixed the problem for a reasonable price.

When I bought my house, an inspector said my HVAC would have to be replaced sooner than later. My first winter, the heat went out. Ed came quickly, found a broken fan motor and replaced it right away. He told me the unit was fine and didn't need replacing. I called in the spring for an AC check-up. He cleaned the unit, cleared a clogged drain and gave me a thumbs up. He is fast and very honest (he could have taken me for a new system). I highly recommend Ed and he is the only person I would call. I have recommended him to friends that are very satisfied with his service.

Our heat went out the other night and Ed was able to come the next morning to fix it as soon as he could. We were so grateful because all other companies were going to take a couple of days , and we could not have gone without heat for that long.

When Ed came, he was very friendly, informative and knowledgeable. I accidentally damaged our fan and Ed did his best to make sure we did not have to spend $1200 on a new one. He was able to fix the problem I caused and saved us $1200 instead of putting in a new fan and taking the money.

He fixed our main problem and got our heat up and running in no time. I really appreciate his integrity. It is hard to find repairmen that will fix something rather than jack up prices on you and buy unnecessary parts, but Ed is that someone. We will definitely be using him from now on.

Came home last night - 80 degrees downstairs, 90+ degrees upstairs, unit was blowing hot air. Called my usual service guys - can't come out tonight. Called the next morning and was told it would be A WEEK before they could come out. What?! I've been a customer for 13 years - they treated me like they didn't know me. So, I decided to try Rainbow Services. Ed answered the phone and was very nice. He came out the same day! Said he'd be here between 12-2pm and got here at 12:30. He is easy to talk with and is very personable. Ed has years of knowledge and experience and it shows. He explained what he found and why it needed replaced. I felt confident in his assessment. The problem: a bad capacitor. He put a new and better (!) capacitor in and voila! Add a little freon and I was good to go. The price was very reasonable for same-day service. I will definitely be calling Ed again if my A/C goes on the fritz and needs some TLC. Thanks a lot Ed!

Wow! I am so amazed by my total experience with Ed Kline and Rainbow Services. He is by far one of the most trustworthy and thorough business owners i have found. He is committed to service, above all else. Our furnace failed last night (during record 17 degree weather). We were referred to Ed, by a friend and he was out this very morning. Not only did he efficiently ascertain our problem (less than 20 minutes) but he took the time to investigate our options. Even options that did NOT include using Rainbow Services to do the final fix. Before he even came to brief us on our problem, he had already called Goodman manufacturing on our behalf and learned that we not only had a new $500 part under warranty , but that our contract also had labor costs pre paid. So, what would have been a possible 1K repair, was reduced to a potential lesser deductible and service fees if we used a goodman dealer. He also made calls to find out how fast he could procure a new part. Since he is not a big company, and not a Goodman dealer, he suggested we call one of his competitors who are such dealers. He even suggested to check whether they have our part in their inventory to expedite our repair. He gave us everything we needed to make this the least expensive solution for us. He also offered to still do the work at a reasonable price, should we have any trouble with his big name competitor or if we felt they were putting our repair off too long and it was necessary to have it done ASAP. My husband and I were so blown away, I wrote this review in thanks for his professionalism and candor. We will use Ed whenever we are able to in the future, and we could not recommend him enough. Plus, as a bonus he is a super respectful, pleasant, good-humored soul. What a gem!

Our AC went out sometime last summer, and I googled "AC Repair 27615" and Rainbow Services came up. Based on the other positive reviews, I decided to call and Ed was able to come out that same day. He had to replace a fairly substantial part (can't remember exactly what it was at this point), but the price was very reasonable, especially for the quality of the service.

Since then, I've had to call Ed back twice - both were for very minor repairs/replacements - and both times Ed came through with fast, reliable and affordable service. I would highly recommend going w/Ed and Rainbow Services for any and all HVAC service and repairs.

We have used Rainbow Services for approx. 2 years for our heating and AC needs. With two older AC units and LP heat, we have needed help on several occasions and replaced one AC unit to date. We trust Ed Cline to make recommendations that give us the best choices and that are in our favor as the consumer. He is highly knowledgeable, dependable, and trustworthy. Highly recommend. We will always call him first.

With Rainbow Services you get an experienced, thorough professional, not a tech trainee or person who only works on the company brand. Ed has worked on my systems a few times, always quick to respond, thorough and fair in price. In one case, he replaced a unit that had been limping along, but not before he checked for and fixed leaks and performed other diagnostics on both the system being replaced AND the one he wasn't working on. Ed knows his business!
