HVAC reviews in Columbus, Ohio

If I could leave a 0 star review I would. I am not one to leave a bad review but this service was insanely horrible. If you need heating and cooling services PLEASE find a different company.
During the process of selling our home we had to use this company to replace our heating/cooling system. We were told it would be about 12k for a 1,400sf house. We were given better estimates (by thousands) but the sellers demanded this company.
We were told it would be done in a day. When I got home from work the service wasn't done and the techs seemed stressed. We asked many times if everything was alright, eventually one of them told us he wired something incorrectly and didn't know how to fix it. Another tech came to assist (Gabe was so kind & respectful!) They couldn't address the problem so we went without heat and my baby had to sleep at a relatives house. The next day they fixed the inside unit but stated the outdoor unit broke and would not be able to be installed until the following week so we had to use emergency heat. The following week it was fixed. When we brought up the idea of negotiating the price down slightly Ron yelled at my husband and threatened to break onto our property and remove the unit and to not give the warranty. We got overcharged for a horrible service. We had to have my baby sleep in a different house, my in laws had to drive down from Sandusky to be there for them to fix things twice, and we have to pay hundreds extra for the emergency heat charges.
Please please please do not hire this company!!!! -

I’m a caregiver for a older gentleman that lives in Gahanna and his air and heater went out in September 2024 and I called them and they came out and put a new heater and air conditioner in there home and they did an excellent job They were very nice and they let us know everything they were doing as they were installing it They cleaned up everything and they came back twice when we had some questions about some things I would recommend them to everyone I know

Ronnie was very responsive and even called after to follow up. Cameron was professional and detail oriented. This is now my goto company for my York systems. They checked my system after another company told me I had a cracked heat exchanger. Turned out to be nothing wrong. Thanks, guys!

From installation of both residential heating and air units to annual inspections, Gahanna Heating and Cooling continues to exceed expectations. Knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommended!

Did work at an apartment that I manage. Terrible work. Had to have a different HVAC company come in and handle multitude of issues such as low freon, units not getting hooked up to power sources and push back when we asked those issues be resolved.

A/C went out and had great techs at our house quickly, found out the problem and replaced parts that needed to be replaced the next day. Guys were great and as helpful as we’d hoped for! Great service and great company!

25 year old unit was low on coolant. I looked at the situation and went with a full heating and air replacement. They were back in 5 days and done by noon. No mess no issues and true to their quote.

It was New Year's Eve 2018, and I had no heat coming out of my furnace, I called like 20 companies over 4 hours and no one would commit as to when they would come out. Gahanna Heating and Cooling literally helped me over the phone in 2 minutes....and within the hour we had heat. It was a miracle!!! I am so grateful. The guy even called us back to followup to see if he needed to come out. What GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Ever grateful!

Thank you, Gahanna Heating & Cooling for getting my furnace back up and running in under a couple hours and for an unbelievably great price! And shame on the big name national competitor that came out before you and found my "furnace to be beyond any hope for repair... but luckily, with the remainder of my system uncompromised, they could have me up and running by tomorrow with a brand new unit for only $7,600". I think not!
It's nice to know there are still good, honest companies out there and I'm so glad I found one of them.

So, I waited a few weeks to post this review, because I wanted to give it some thought before I posted.
Here's what happened...I was out of town on business when my wife called and said there was a bunch of water coming out of the furnace and leaking on the floor. I wasn't home to handle the situation, so I got online and called Gahanna Heating & Cooling because of their excellent reviews and proximity to my home.
The good...they answered the call & were quick to schedule someone to get out & take a look at the issue. Customer service was top-notch. Quick, friendly, responsive and professional. As I wasn't home and couldn't diagnose the issue, I very much appreciated that they got to the house so quickly & figured out the problem. Turns out the drain pan under the A coil had a crack in it and needed to be pulled & replaced. Most homeowners have no idea what that even means.. and as I talked to Neil, he explained that the system would need to be drained of refrigerant, the A coil would need to be cut out & removed so that the drain pan could be replaced. The A coil would then need to be re-inserted, the refrigerant lines would need to be re-braised (soldered into place), the system would then need to be re-charged with refrigerant and tested to make sure everything was working as it should. Neil was great! he told me he would get two or three guys out and they'd knock the repair out in 4 hours or less. But, it would cost me $810 because of the amount of time & labor. As I was traveling and needed to take care of the issue, I told him to go ahead and schedule the work.
They sent one guy out to do the job. I got done with work early & headed home. I got back an hour after the tech had arrived-as he was finishing up the job and getting ready to leave. So, I had the opportunity to talk to him. Turns out, there was enough play in the refrigerant lines so that he was able to remove the cover, lift the A coil & insert a new drain pan. He didn't have to drain the system, disconnect the A coil or recharge the system. Anyway, problem solved & I told the tech I'd call the office & talk to them about the final invoice because it had taken one guy an hour to complete a job that had been quoted for 2-3 guys at 4 hours.
So, I called the office & spoke to Robin, she said she would speak to Neil about it and get back to me.
Robin called a couple of days later & said, it'll still be $810 for the work although they weren't charging me the $180 invoice for the initial visit to diagnose the issue. I told Robin I expected better of a 5 star rated business. I asked to speak to Neil & she told me she had already talked to him & he wasn't available to speak to me; I said, "Have him call me" & she told me he wouldn't be available to speak to me in the near future. This conversation quickly became very contentious & Robin became very agitated. She told me to pay whatever I felt was fair, she told me not to pay & they'd just write it off, she told me they'd never do work for me again. She was very aggressive and belligerent because I told her that the job that was quoted wasn't the work they ended up doing. In the end, I sent them the check for $810-which they cashed. The reason I chose to write this review is because I know most people rely on "professionals" in areas regarding HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc. & that they usually don't know anything about the systems they need help with...as a contractor, I do know how these systems work & how to install them.
I was treated rudely & given a raft of s**t from Robin for having the audacity to question the charges, and I was still being asked to pay for a much more involved job then what actually happened.
Gahanna Heating and Cooling seem like good folks on the surface, but be careful and question what you feel isn't right. In my case, I paid $75 for parts and $735 for labor and travel...which is shady as hell. -
We were very happy with Gahanna Heating and Cooling when they replaced our air conditioner and furnace. Ronnie provided excellent customer service through the entire process all the way to following up on the installation after it was complete. He assisted in filing for our 10 year warranty and was able to help us secure an additional warranty on labor! Thanks Ronnie for making it an easy process and going the extra mile providing great customer service via text (even on Saturday weeks after our engagement)!

I bought the Unit in 2017. I have spent $1400 dollars to keep it running. $687 with one company and $783 with Gahanna Heating and Cooling.
Tech was competent , but I think I got a bad unit installed.
You all be judge
I did get a call from Gahanna Heating and Cooling and am very satisfied with their explanation of my issue. They are a very very good company and would use them again -
Ghanna Heating and Cooling is honest and can be trusted. I called for an estimate after another company said my furnace needed to be replaced. The sales person came out and looked at the furnace and disagreed. He then sent out their lead technician to check the whole system and he said it didn’t need to be replaced and showed me the test results and photos. They now have a new client going forward. I can’t believe they passed on a big sale to do the right thing. Extremely grateful. You can trust these people to treat you fairly. No high pressure, just great service.
