HVAC reviews in Columbus, Ohio

Open and honest communications in today’s world is a rarity. I over researched and over solution’ed my needs and was recommended a less expensive solution than i T H O U G H T i needed. Years later its still functikning yhat was it was designed to function. i have also learned didnt need a whole home humidifier but would benefit from an ionizer. humidity is now acceptable all year round, and i have recored before and after filter replacement weights proving it adds value to the system. allergy sufferes take note, this makes a difference, as dors Gahanna Heating. i have referred several other friends, all are equally happy.
thanks. Ron, Ronnie, Erin and others for the amazing support and service over the years -
To start, the customer service staff (Erin) and the technicians are excellent. I appreciate the work they did and the support they provided. The one star rating is due to the quoting process and the leadership -- at least the leadership I had contact with. The lack of transparency, high price tag, and inconsistency in quote language are my main issues. For example, I was told that I "had" to get a new thermostat as part of the remedy for my situation. In the quote it included a specific brand/model thermostat, when they came to address my situation I immediately noticed that they were installing a 'Branded' thermostat, meaning it had 'Gahanna Heating and Cooling' on it. This was concerning for me, as clearly they ordered these with their name of it and clearly they were offering/making folks use these. I will be hesitant about doing business with them in the future.
Update, 10/28/25: called GH&C due to an issue with the devices they installed, asked them to come inspect. As always Erin was great and scheduled a time.
Update, 10/30/25: received a call from Ron, Service/Operations lead, informing me that due to my review they are only coming out to inspect due to the warranty. As a BTC Service Leader, I would have liked for Ron to have asked me about this review and the legitimate concerns I raised. -
I was on I-270 going northbound at about 7:30am this morning when an older caucasian male was driving erratically. I’m not sure if he was late for work or something, but he was tailgating, hopping in front of vehicles, beeping, and flicking people off for not going faster. He did this to multiple vehicles! It was not safe at all. Other vehicles were swerving to the side so that they didn’t get hit. That kind of driving is absolutely unacceptable. It could have resulted in an accident. He was being very aggressive. This is not the fault of the company, but he was driving a company vehicle. Management should reevaluate their employees, I’m sure this is not the type of people they want representing their company in public. I sure wouldn’t want someone who’s aggressive on the road entering my home to fix my HVAC system! That’s scary, please choose your contractor wisely.

I had my HVAC installed by Gahanna Heating and Cooling just one year ago, and now it is making a horrendous noise without me doing anything to it. When I called for help, the receptionist on the phone was dismissive and completely unhelpful with scheduling. Even though this was an urgent issue because the unit isn’t working properly, she didn’t offer to send anyone out for two full days. They couldn’t even give me a specific appointment time, only a vague 4-hour window that ended at 4:30 pm... not feasible for anyone working a normal day. Her snobbiness and inflexibility were totally unacceptable.
Thankfully, a technician came earlier than expected and he was lovely. But despite the unit still being under warranty, they wanted to charge me over $1,000 just for shipping and labor to replace a blower and wheels. They also told me no financing options were available. After looking up prices online, it’s clear their markup is outrageous. It is nowhere near this cost at other places. When I brought this up, they were extremely rude and dismissed me as a customer.
I am truly baffled by Gahanna’s excessive pricing, rude and inflexible customer service, and apparent lack of loyalty to their customers. I strongly recommend NEVER using this company. -
Gahanna Heating and Cooling took $15,000 and left us with malfunctioning equipment
For details, I received quotes from four companies in the area and selected Gahanna Heating and Cooling because they seemed to understand the scope and scale of the project and were willing to discuss options. They were approachable and seemingly intelligent on HVAC issues and weren’t just trying to sell us. They were not the cheapest and part of the reason they were selected is because they were on Mitsubishi’s list of approved installers. We agreed on a contract in March and agreed to delay installation until weather was better since we would be without heating for several days and to accommodate their schedule. The installation began April 8th through April 10th and continued April 15th through the 17th to install a mini-split system with three indoor units and one outdoor unit (Six days). A week after the install, we were able to actually test the system because the temperature warmed up. The indoor unit was covered in ice and the room felt like a walk-in cooler and it was making a terrible sound intermittently. They came out and inspected the system and said the levels were all fine and the tests came back normal. (Day 7). We then paid the full amount assuming that any issues were addressed. A week later and same issue of noise and icing and also water was dripping from the indoor unit onto the floor. They came out with an expert on mini-splits and recharged the system with refrigerant and again and said all tests came back normal. (Day 8). A week later, same issue of loud noise, icing and inconsistent temperatures where one unit is cold and never turns off and other units are blowing out warm air. A tech came back out and found that the wires for two of the indoor units had been crossed during installation. That was fixed and the levels of refrigerant were checked. (Day 9). When we could test the system again, we had the same issues of excessively cold air in one room and warm air in another. Gahanna came back out with representatives from Trane and found no issues with the system other than the pumps and could not recreate or diagnose an issue since there were no codes in the system. (Day 10). We had to purchase window units since this was during the peak of summer. A month later, new pumps and wireless thermostats were installs and the issues persist (Day 11). It’s been nearly five months without an operable system. It cannot regulate the temperature and randomly produces excessively cold or warm humid air and the vanes and fan seem to reset themselves. I’ve held off on this review because I wanted to give them the opportunity to fix the issue. However after 11 days, five months and now they’ve stopped returning my calls or emails I’m left with no option. We’re tired, frustrated, hot, and out a lot of money and time. Our only hope is that we can help others avoid our mistake. Stay away from Gahanna Heating and Cooling or retain a lawyer. -

After being told by a different company my AC struggling to keep up in 90F+ temps was normal and they were booked a wk out, I called Ron Murphy.
He asked the right questions, said it was worth looking at and got me in the same day.
Turns out it was a bad capacitor, he saved my unit and made it house a liveable temp again.
Price was alsi super reasonable -

This HVAC company treats us like family. If we ever have issues, they will promptly be there to help. Today, John helped us look at a safety concern for the electric panel where the heat pump connects. John is professional, polite, knowledgeable, and kind enough to give us time to alert the household to shut down all the computers. He always makes certain that I know what's going on and what to do before he leaves, with a smile on his face. Thanks again John!

There were problems but these two young men were wonderful in all the problems. It took all day and these two young men went over and above to make sure the job was done correctly. I give them both 20 stars. Thank you so much Trey and Blake. Pat and Lynn are the best people in management and customer service. Thank God there are still good and helpful people in the world. I continue to be impressed with each interaction I have with Right Way. They installed a ducted mini-split unit in our attic to address the large temperature differential between our upstairs and downstairs. It is one of the best things we have done to our home! The price was right, and the quality of life afterwards exceeded our expectations.
On the service front, they continue to support us well. Truly a great experience and one that I highly recommend. -
My AC stopped working. I called on a Friday to schedule an appointment , thinking it would be next week before a tech could come out. I was able to get scheduled the same day. The tech, Mike, called in advance and arrived to my home within 20 minutes. He was able to diagnose the issue promptly & fixed less than an hour. He was very knowledgeable & also very kind. It’s a plus that he wore shoe booties when entering my home, without me even asking. I highly recommend Rightway! Ask for Mike, if available. You won’t be disappointed!

Blake came to inspect our furnace and AC and was great. He was very polite and professional. Blake was thorough and explained what he was looking at and checking for along the way. He gave a great recap at the end and provided recommendations on what to consider now and wasn't pushy at all. Would definitely recommend Rigth Way and Blake.
