Dave from Z Excavation did great work for us to replace our underground pipes that extend to the storm sewers. He quoted us a great price and then followed through on exactly what he said he would do. We were very happy with the result and will definitely use this company again for renovations and repairs.

Very impressed with Dave. I called him for a second opinion when a large plumbing company said they cleared our sewer line, but we needed to replace the line. He saved us thousands of dollars by using his camera to see it was still mostly clogged. He was not able to clear it himself and worked on referring someone that would do it affordably. I so wish I had not panicked and called the first name on the internet; however I did find Z Exavation in the end.

I highly recommend Z Excavation. David Mayfield is the owner, and he does all his own work. I had a water line break in my front lawn. I called him on the Saturday of a holiday weekend, and he was at my house within 30 minutes. He got all the necessary permits and had the work done the next business day. He is super responsive and cares about doing a good job. His price was great, and he was wonderful to work with. Call him.

Z Excavation & Plumbing was a great find for me! They were clearly experienced, and communicated with me what they were going to do, and exactly how much it would cost (his was the best quote I got too). I called Monday, and Dave came to quote same-day, next day he was able to get the city out to mark the water shutoff, and the next day they was able to get all the work done (despite needing to call in 2 work orders to the city for various roadblocks my house put up for them).

We used Z Excavation to replace our broken water line. Dave came out to give a free estimate, and was easy to communicate and schedule with throughout the process. He was patient with all of our questions and always showed up when he said he would. His pricing seemed fair, and once we knew what options we wanted, he was able to give us an exact price (the other plumbers we got estimates from told us it would be “plus or minus $1000”). We will use Z Excavation again for any plumbing needs in the future!

We had a great experience working with Dave Mayfield from Z Excavation. He arrived promptly and quickly diagnosed the two water main leaks on our property - one at the curb box and another in the front yard. Dave explained the problem very clearly and provided a detailed estimate for the repair. Like to mention that Dave was the only one to notice that we had two leaks. Three other companies that gave rather inflated estimates did not even notice the second leak in the yard. Dave and his partner completed the work very efficiently and left the yard clean and tidy. Dave did a great job of fixing the problem. He and his assistant were very professional and easy to work with. Never thought we would have to address such an issue but glad Z Excavation was there to help.

Dave should wear a cape! He saved the day! Our main water line had a leak at the foundation, the city gave us 14 days to have it replaced before they shut off our water. The big companies you hear advertise on the radio and tv wouldn't even come out to give us a quote. Other companies said the job was too big and complicated. Dave quickly repsonded, inspected and gave us a quote. He also educated us on the whole process and possible complications. All of Dave's competitors said his quote was great. Dave was in constant contact via phone calls and texts throughout the whole job. In one day they replaced the water line without damaging the driveway, yard or porch. So thankful we found Dave and Z Excavation!!!

David was literally 10/10!!! Not only was he the best price, but he was the best human! No gimmicky talks or having to call a supervisor. David did my estimate and was the one doing the work!! He’s easy to communicate with and was very upfront about everything! I will be recommending him to anyone and everyone!

I cannot say enough good things about Dave Mayfield and ZExcavation. He responded quickly to an emergency, worked diligently on our behalf with Columbia Gas and the City of Columbus Water Division, and installed our new water line at a reasonable cost. He ran into difficulties beyond his control with our property and did not raise the estimate. Class act, and highly professional.

Dave Mayfield, and his company Z Excavation and Plumbing, did a fantastic job repairing our water line. Dave answered his phone both times I called, arrived at the scheduled date and time, and completed the work efficiently and without making a mess. The care they showed to our property and home was outstanding. They had the job done quickly, and had the line inspected shortly after on the same day. He even offers a 12 month warranty. If you’re on the fence about Dave, don’t be. If the price sounds too good to be true, it isn’t. Dave quoted less than half of what the great big plumbing national company did. Highly recommend!
