Stop! Don't look any further , as you have found the best damn tree service company in Columbus. Seriously.

Tom Tabor is the owner of this company and he is far and away the best arborist I've ever dealt with. Consummate professional. Kind, prompt and courteous. Would rather save a tree than make saw dust.

I have a huge, old saucer magnolia that is the focal point of my backyard landscaping. It is beautiful, but sadly has some spots in its old branches where water has gotten in and bugs have started eating the soft damaged wood. I was worried the whole thing was going to have to come down. Tom met me at my home and spent in excess of a half hour walking me through how to properly care for the tree, and reassured me that it has many beautiful years ahead of it. He also told me what NOT to do which may cause more damage to the tree. Tom then talked to me about my pruning of two trees in my front yard. When I asked him what I owed him for his expertise, advice and guidance he said nothing was owed as he didn't feel he had done anything that I needed to pay for. Wow. If only all other service providers were so nice!

And to top it off, Tom texted me the next morning with additional advice on when to water the tree to help it heal.

I highly recommend calling Tom and his company for all your tree service needs. Believe me, you will not be disappointed.

We have been very impressed with Tom, his level of expertise, but moreso his level of integrity. His team took down a number of trees, listening to my concerns and desires, and interacting always professionally. Even when one of his stump grinder subs did not come out as planned, Tom arranged to come out personally. A man of his word, for sure. We look forward to working with Trapper Tree Service again!

After a major storm we needed someone fast to take care of a fallen tree. Tom the ownern was not only was able to take care of us pretty quickly but he also helped us with the insurance. He was very responsive and we will definitely use Trapper's again!

Called Tom for a quote thinking he would be the most expensive based on his reviews, experience and knowledge. I was wrong.

Asked him to remove 4 trees which were completely covered in poison ivy, and to raise the degree of difficulty, asked him not to let any of the trees damage various flower beds we had planted underneath and nearby. Tom assured me they would do everything they could to protect all the plants below, while secretly I resigned myself to accept that some wouldn't survive the culling. I was wrong. Everything made it through completely unscathed!

Tom and his team were easy to communicate with, always timely with a response. Scheduling was flexible to fit my calendar, not just theirs.

Wish I had more trees to cut down because Trapper's deserves the business. I will be referring my friends and neighbors to Tom and his crew in the future.

Tom came highly recommended by a neighbor who has used his services for years. He agreed to take out a tree for me at the end of a long day of trimming and pruning that neighbors trees. He and his crew did it quickly and efficiently. Except for the now missing tree, there is no sign he was even there. I am absolutely delighted with his work and am looking forward to having him back to do some pruning and trimming.

I met with Tom this morning for a estimate on what to do about a tree in my front yard. Instead of spending the entire time trying to sell me on why I should hire him Tom spent the time educating me on what I currently had (the pluses and minuses, if any) and what I may want to consider. He even educated me on how a tree should be properly planted and cared for and the reasons why. This was a pleasant experience and I would recommend him to any one that asked for a tree service referral. I felt like he cared more about doing what was in the best interest of my case than trying to make a sale.

Great service. The logistics were difficult, due to the inaccessibility of our back yard by truck. The workers were polite & professional. They were careful of the existing landscaping, which required some effort. When an issue came up Tom was easy to get hold of, & dealt with it promptly. Cleanup was accomplished effectively. The work looks good! We will definitely call on them in the future.

I had a huge tree emergency on a Friday afternoon. Not many of the other tree services were interested in starting a job at 3:00 on a Friday afternoon. I called Whole Tree Care with Trappers Tree Service and they had someone available. Tom T. came to take a look at the problem tree. He stated it would be best to remove the rest of the tree that was hanging over the apartment building, because it possible it may fall onto the building. He had his crew out at the site and was working on it 2 hours later. Tom has a really dedicated team that worked quickly and professionally. Tom took great interest in making sure the building was safe from the falling tree and he and his entire crew worked well into the evening. Tom and same crew members made it back out early the following Saturday morning to follow finish the job. I will highly recommend Trappers Tree service to anyone that asks about tree services.

This is our second time using Whole Tree Care by Trapper's Tree Service, and we would recommend them to anyone! They come out to speak with you about the job, making sure you understand everything. Tom was really great and patient. It was a long wait, but well worth it. Rachael was friendly over the phone as well! Very professional and great to work with!

Whole Tree Care did an excellent job taking out numerous trees and brush on my property.  Tom came out an gave me a very thorough assessment of the work I wanted to be completed. He also took the time to give me some other tips to help increase the health of my remaining trees.  The team that came out to complete the work was very courteous and cleaned up very well.

I received a thorough estimate very quickly after requesting it. Tom provided options to me for removal of two very large trees and even itemized costs in order to present to my neighbor for cost-sharing purposes. Tom’s communication and integrity is next to none and he is a true professional. I would highly recommend Tom for your tree service.

We had a number of extremely large hardwood trees that came down on/around our cabin during a bad windstorm and Tom was able to get them all off without allowing the trees to cause additional damage. This job was turned down by many trees services due to the complexity of the slope of the land and the size of the trees. Tom planned out how he would tackle the project and I must say it went flawless. He went the extra mile to educate me about the other trees that we have on the property and any risk that they may pose. He even cleaned up some old brush that I had on the property while he was there. I would highly recommend Tom and his company to anyone that needs tree services.

Tom was super responsive to my call when a branch was threatening to fall on my fence. I ended up using his company to also cut down a very large evergreen that had been slowly dying over the past several years, trim another large tree and remove a birch that was leaning against the house. He was cautious and thorough, friendly and professional. Plus, the cost was very competitive. Such a relief to have found a such a reliable and trustworthy tree service!

I wanted to update my review and just say Tom has continued to give us great service not only when he does paid work, but he’s been very consultative, as well.

Tom has come out and given me advice on numerous occasions, without charge. To have someone that you can call on and have them give you advice and such without charging you for every visit is really a great service. It makes you happy to work with him when you do need a real service done.

I will continue to go to Tom anytime I have any questions or need any tree work done.

Tom has been great to work with on numerous occasions.

Most recently, I called him to look at a specific issue and he came out and gave me free advice. I appreciated that he didn't automatically tell me that I needed to spend a lot of money on something if it wasn't that big of a deal.

I will continue to work with him on other tree related issues as they come up.

Could not be happier with Trapper’s Tree Service. Had a large tree fall on our house and take out an electrical line. Tom and his team were quick to respond, and did an excellent and thorough job in removing the tree, disposing of the debris, and providing professional advice. Tom is an excellent arborist. He’s a super hard worker and goes above and beyond. Our job required precision and he delivered with the right team and equipment. Last but not least he and his crew did a fantastic job with clean-up (on a late Friday afternoon nonetheless!) An absolute professional from start to finish.

Update: Because of a cancellation I was given the option to move forward with my tree removal earlier than originally expected. I agreed and the team arrived promptly and began working immediately. They were professional, courteous, and cleaned up everything upon completion. They even took some smaller branches that had fallen over the past few weeks. As fast as they arrived, they were gone. The tree was removed and the stump remained (per my request) at the exact height I wanted. I absolutely, highly recommend them!

Just met with Tom and was immediately impressed with the level of care, knowledge, and attention to detail. When I mentioned plans to improve curb appeal, I was given a great education for the best results. This is my first time having a tree removed and had no idea what was involved. After speaking with Tom, I am now confident the job will exceed my expectations upon completion.
