Will Lehnert is a uniquely talented architect for outdoor spaces and has tremendous vision for recreating a space to optimize it for its best use while still utilizing a timeless element to his design. My wife and I own a home in German Village that had a particularly odd outdoor space. After trying to figure out the right layout for it on our own and failing for years, we were fortunate to meet Will at a home and garden show. He met with us in our home, reviewed our space, discussed how we envisioned using the space and all our requirements for it, then came up with a master plan for it. Quite honestly, we felt like we were living our own HGTV episode as Will came up with ideas for the space and a layout that we were not able to envision on our own. We ultimately hired him to oversee the process of the transformation and still interact with him to this day for small suggestions and other odds and ends. We could not be more happy with the finished product and the opportunity to work with Will. In fact, we hope to be able to feature his work on a future German Village Haus und Garten Tour as his plan let us fully maximize the outdoor space we have while creating a seamless to our indoor/outdoor living experience.

Will produced a very beautiful detailed plan for my small Clintonville front yard. His design shows how much he was paying attention to my idea of "beautiful". I can't believe how quick he gets to work on the plan and meets with you to go over every detail. I highly recommend Outdoor Space Design. Thank you, Will.

In 2018, Will designed a backyard oasis for us including a large deck, brick fire pit patio, brick walking paths, and beautifully incorporated our hot tub into the deck and landscaping design. The plants he designated have thrived with little to no intervention on our part. We thoroughly enjoy the private, peaceful "nature reserve" Will crafted for us. We never could've come up with this design on our own, and I highly recommend Will's services!!!

Will drew up a landscape plan for my backyard, including a new patio. I was looking for a modern design. Will did a great job of taking into account my likes/dislikes. He was easy to work with. When I changed my mind about something and needed the plan revised, he did so quickly. He also provided us with great advice once we got quotes from some contractors and the changes they were proposing to the plan.

We contracted with Will for our backyard design that we intend to phase in over time. Will provided us a beautiful site plan with the end game in mind. Will was prompt in his responses, considerate of our feedback, and provided realistic deadlines, meeting all deliverable commitments on time. In addition he provided us recommendations for contractors. We can't wait to see the finished product!

Will has been wonderful to work with on our landscape redesign! We have a large project that we are starting and enlisted Will to help with the design plans. He listened to what we were looking for in terms of look and style, but also considered what is realistic for us as far as maintenance and project cost is concerned. Will did an exception job transforming our back and side yards into a space we love. He is a great listener, took our suggestions to heart, and came very prepared to all of our meetings. Will took what felt like a small and unfinished space and made it feel much larger and intentional. He introduced us to the contractor we ended up working with, and they were able to match the quality of work Will brings on the design of the project. We would highly recommend his work!

Will Lehnert advised me on replacing an overgrown area of weeds to make a pollinator friendly area. On his advice I removed all the weeds (easy to do, as he had predicted), then used Joe Pye weed as the basis, enhanced with black-eyed Susans, shasta daisies and yarrow for diversity and contrast. The result has been a garden that is attractive, pollinator rich, and has required low maintenance. I am very grateful for Will's input!

Will and Steve are true artists. My husband and I utilized their expertise for a backyard patio project at our home and could not be happier with the result. They made our vision and the art of the possible come to life. They also are very connected in the contractor space and we ended up using one of their suggested contacts, which was the absolute correct choice! Highly recommend using their services.

Will’s design turned our boring backyard into a true garden oasis! I hesitated to hire a professional for ‘just’ a backyard in a regular clintonville neighborhood, especially since a lot of hardscape companies will include the design if you use them. But it was 100% the right decision. Will designed a layout that is simple and fits our modest house, but is also beautiful and unique. Just sitting out there makes me feel like I’m on vacation somewhere fancy. I get so many compliments on it, from everyone who comes to the house, as well as just strangers walking by! I’ve attached a few pictures, though I don’t think they really do it justice!

Outdoor Makeovers did a great job with our spring clean up and mulch! I would definitely recommend them.
