This was probably one of the worst purchases we ever made. We expressed that buying Solar wouldn't be anything we're really into because we plan to sell soon, but the sales agent swore up and down that transferring to a new seller would be smooth. That solar adds "amazing" resale value. LIES. This has been the BIGGEST headache for our family with having to come up with 10k+ to reach a target balance IN ORDER to even begin transferring to the new home owner? And that's IF they qualify. If they don't, then in order to fully sell we have to come up with 30k+ OUT OF POCKET same day of closing. This is crazy and was never explained EVEN after we had multiple questions about it with our sales rep. He knew we were planning to sell because he even offered to try and be our realtor (we already had one). Glad we didn't do that either.

My husband and I really had no idea how solar worked but we were interested in finding out if it was right for us and our family ❤️ Dane Allard Ohio sales manager came to our home and he was immediately family. His warm smile and personality really gave us the comfort the ION solar was the company for us. He walked us through the process step by step and was always available when we had questions about anything. My experience with Ion Solar have been very positive from the very beginning. They have answered all of my questions, they have been very Informative, and have had great communication with me. The day of install was a breeze. The crew that did my Install were great. They were very professional! No complaints and so far I am a happy camper.

Wonderful team all the way through. From Harper (my door to door guy) to the installation crew (too many names to list) everyone was courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. They made sure to do all the heavy lifting on paperwork allowing me to continue leading a normal life while getting things set up. Very excited to watch this system go over the years.

Edit: I maintain that the team members are all professional and kind. However, the system (especially scheduling) is atrocious. With the installation process there have been some wiring problems leading some main household appliances to not function. Trying to get issues fixed is consistently a multi week issue. Admittedly this is compounded by the fact I work a full time job.

I give 5 stars to the team that went to install the panels. They were very professional, they did a good job, they were friendly. In general, the entire ION Solar service has been very professional.

I was a little skeptical when my brother in law referred me to ION but from the moment Ms. Cameron Buchanan educated me on Solar power I was sold! Her knowledge was impeccable and never left me wondering throughout the presentation and ensured I had the knowledge to make my own decision if I wanted to continue with the process. Never once did I feel pressured into anything. The whole process has been seamless! There is constant communication on what the next process is between you and ION and if you ever have any questions (which I never ran into) they are always there to answer you via text, phone call, or email. The installation process was very quick and simple and the crew was very professional. Though my service isn’t up and running (because I’m currently waiting on my county’s final inspection) I have been able to see the final product at my brother in laws house and seeing how excited, happy, and satisfied they are makes me very confident that I will feel the same! Thank you!

This Review was edited from a 1 star to a 3 star. The Salesman was great, very friendly and knowledgeable. The install team was right on time and keep things tidy and cleaned up well. The inspection process after was a nightmare, it took them 4 months, 5 reschedules and many calls to finally get the inspection done. They work with the city to get the panels inspected so there is an understandable amount of frustration getting the inspection done, but the whole process could have been significantly improved with proper communication. This is a reputable company and with a little more work to streamline thier inspection department it could be one of the best solar companies out there. One thing they don't inform you about is the timeline on being available for inspection, they give you a timeframe of 8am-4pm so be prepared to take a full day off work.

The process was smooth from start to finish. My rep Stacy Collins was phenomenal in getting me started and the rest of the Ion team picked up right where he left off. It’s been seamless and I can’t wait to see my first $7 Virginia Power bill!!! Don’t think anymore about it…GET SOLAR…WITH ION!

Trying to get a representative out to my house was a little tricky at first. I had 3 appointments fall through for various reasons. I’m glad I gave ION another chance. Working with my local reps Jasmine and Ron, I was able to navigate this process so easily. They were both communicative and never pushy. They seemed genuinely excited about the company and their product. So far, every interaction with any ION representative has been a positive one. They have taken care of much of the paperwork and HOA that this process has been so easy. I can’t wait to get our panels turned on. I highly recommend ION Solar.

HORRIBLE COMPANY AND TOTAL SCAM. We were lied to by the sales representative (who has blocked us now) into getting solar panels. We are out thousands of dollars now. They lied about everything that was important for us (able to move panels to new house in the future, saving us money on electric bill, enough panels to cover our average electric usage) and they will not do anything to make it right. The supervisor for customer service is extremely rude and unprofessional and they will not even send us an itemized bill of sales even for tax purposes. What we thought was a good investment to save us money has only cost us countless hours of time and so much money. Many companies out there are very legit and can be a great investment. This one however is worthless. Please please do your research before committing to such a large investment

This was the smoothest installation I have ever experienced. I Preston was great. He needs to talk slower for old people like me lol. Beza was wonderful. This job suits her personality. The installers were great. Very respectful and answered all my questions. I am very pleased.

So our solar panel breaker that ION installed was faulty, and tripped leaving our solar panels off for over a week without us knowing. Once we found out, we contacted them but no response for two weeks. We repeatedly had to come home from work to flip the breaker almost everyday. Of course there were days where we couldn’t get home to turn them back on and the whole day would be wasted. We now have an OGE bill along with the solar bill for this month and part of last month.

ION finally got back to us two weeks later and fixed the breaker. They stated they are unable to reimburse us because the solar panels would’ve had to been off for a month. Then I said I tried to get them out here but it took two weeks so isn’t that negligence on their part, they said it would only be negligence on their part had it taken them three weeks to respond. Which obviously sounds made up convenient for them.

We’re definitely feeling nervous at this point as to if we made the right decision going solar. I wish they wouldn’t reimburse us even just a little bit just in good faith.

Idk how to take all this. It feels very unfair.

The salesman here are really pushy and came to my house twice in one day and multiple times in the past, too. In the past, when they came to my door, they told me they were with OG&E, so I let them run a report only for them to try and sell me solar panels.

Process was very smooth! David, Brandon, and Evan sold it for us. They weren't aggressive at all(and we had plenty of companies come to the door). Communication between us and Ion were excellent! I knew what was going on at any point in the process. Instillation was seamless as well! Thank you, Ion!

***Update!*** Avoid them at all cost! James scams people to sales, shows a fake watch he had engraved by the company of salesman of the year, and tells you if you buy with him he will give you his next three referrals, $1,000 a piece. After the sale, he disappears! Stay away!

I absolutely love ION! Working with them was a breeze; James nailed everything and supported me throughout the entire process. I didn't encounter any issues at all! While others warned me it would take over six months for installation, they wrapped everything up in under two months. I highly recommend them!

Avoid it. Sounds good at first. But they will not help you with whatsoever when it comes to anything paperwork wise. They will threaten you with liens and all sorts of other things. Whether you have the information or not. Plus it doesn't help that when they call it pops up is a scam. I wish they would just install it so it's over.

The team at ION Solar has been incredibly efficient and easy to work with! Our sales rep Mike Carranza was more than happy to answer our rather extensive list of questions, assuring us and showing evidence of the panels' efficiency, longevity and what we could expect in terms of long term savings and payment options. Mike gave us a time-line for permitting, install, and activation that ION absolutely crushed.

I was immensely impressed with the install team. They were punctual and professional, knocking out the whole installation and testing in less than 4 hours. No leaks, no issues, just a job well done and solar panels soaking up some rays!

Our experience has been wonderful with “The Simpsons” lol! (Two brothers with ION). These guys are absolutely fabulous, very approachable and answered all of our questions with expertise and knowledge. We are excited about our experience with this company!
