Appliance Repair reviews in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Called with a Frigidaire freezer problem, set an appointment, as I prepared the appliance, the problem became apparent, an ice dam in the bottom. Raymond explained over the phone how to effect the repair and how to make sure it was working again. I am so impressed. If I have to have the seal repaired (faulty manufacture) I will be sure to call him again. He is now on my permanent appliance repair file.

David Mitchell came out and was professional and very experienced. He was even encouraging to my husband who had repaired it partially. Very kind. Affordable. I would use him any time I need repair.
-
I had a great experience using them for help with a fridge and a gas range. Raymond arrived on time and was very thorough, professional, and helpful. I will definitely use them again next time I need appliance service!

Called the Appliances Doctor, spoke with Dawn who took my information and passed it on to Mr. Raymond. Mr. Raymond came provided friendly and professional service and got my dryer working again. I would highly recommend the Appliance Doctor.

Raymond was available on very short notice on a Friday afternoon. He was quick to diagnose and fix the problem with my 25 year old washing machine. All at a very reasonable price.
Bank account and weekend saved! -
The family has used this place multiple times. This time it was my mom, Joan, that Raymond came to help. She was very impressed with his courtesy, knowledge, and demeanor. He fixed the problem and charged a fair price.

Spoke with owner in the morning and set up a service call for between 11:30 and 12:00. He said he would contact me about 20 minutes before he was going to head our way. I missed a phone call at 12:31 and when I called him back at 12:41, he had already moved on to another client. I completely understand that aspect of the situation. However, his attitude when I spoke with him was *extremely* rude and condescending. So, while I cannot review based on work done I CAN say that we chose to use a different company based on that interaction.

Raymond replaced our icemaker, the first maker was broken and had to be replaced. Once repaired Ray call the next few days to make sure it was working and we were satisfied. I definitely recommend the Appliance Doctor.

I called them to look at my fridge which seemed to have the compressor running for very long lengths of time. They told me on the phone that there would be a $55 charge for making the service call and diagnosing the problem, and then the cost of the actual repair. Fair enough. The problem turned out to be a defrost timer that needed to be replaced. The technician was in and out within 35-40 minutes. I had assumed that I would be charged an hourly rate plus the cost of the replacement part. Wrong! The price for the service was pulled out from some 100+ page standardized "Flat rate" book that turned out to be $217! I should mention that the repair part is available on Amazon for $14.50, and YouTube videos show the work to be simple and take 5 minutes. I have no idea if the flat rate charged to me was truly for the repair that I needed or if it’s the rate for some other big repair job. I also have no idea if it’s a rate for repairs in Manhattan, applied to Tulsa instead. So in essence, the price charged was something out of thin air with no substantiation provided. Furthermore, the price was never mentioned to me before the repair work was started. I would have assumed some courtesy such as "The problem is this, it will cost you $X, do you want me to go ahead?", but no such courtesy was provided. In conclusion, it seems like a 35 minute job, changing a $14 part, about a 5 minute drive from the appliance repair company's office, should not come to $217. As a point of comparison, I have another home in Boston that had that same problem recently, and the total cost to diagnose the problem and then replace the defrost timer was only $160, with a 90-day warranty provided. So the $217 charge here in Tulsa for essentially the same work seems definitely far overpriced.

The Appliance doctor is a wonderful, family owned business. Best prices I could find. They can usually schedule same day appointments, and always do good work. And the repair men have always been kind and made me feel safe having them in my home!

Initially I called Appliance Doctor because my fridge quit on me. Food warmed up and lost.
They sent Roy for my appointment and gave me the day it was to occur.
Waited all day and by 6PM I finally received a a call asking if I still wanted him to come by.
Of course I said yes, my fridge didn't work.
He came and looked at my fridge and without using any test equipment he said a relay needed to be replaced. I gave the ok and he replaced it. Then he showed me a small leak from a hose and I oked him to replace that as well.So far I'm out $230.
2 weeks later I have a big leak from under my fridge. I call Roy back and he patches the leak with a massive connector that obviously would have to be forced behind the patch panel.
2 months later I have an even worse leak! Getting frustrated, I ask if Appliance Doctor can send a different tech to my home. Dawn tells me they are independent contractors, and if I want a different tech, I will be subject to an additional $55 charge. Of course I didn't agree to that! GRRR!!!!!
Roy was scheduled again. Like the last couple times, no time estimate of arrival, only a call when he was finally on the way.
This time, of course he knew I wasn't satisfied. He didn't say much but, diagnosed more parts to replace. He ordered them and came back in a few days to install. I didn't get a detailed invoice, just a single price.
My fridge now works almost as well as before it broke down. Filtered water is delayed now.
And I have shelled out over $600 said and done.
Would I use them again?
Oh hell no!!!
<edit> I mistakenly called Ray (Raymond) Roy. -
Our story began when Jerry Bray from Bray Appliance Repair came out late November and decided the problem with our Kenmore refrigerator’s ice maker was the infrared sensor control board. He brought and installed it on a second trip, we paid $301.60, and he said it would start cycling ice the next day. After Thanksgiving, we called back to say the machine had never started working. We called multiple times and left several messages over a week and when he never responded we decided he was resisting us passively and wanted nothing more to do with the project.
Several weeks later, we called Appliance Doctor who dispatched Raymond and he solved the problem. His first visit he investigated, took the ice maker apart, pulled the refrigerator from the wall, found a pipe frozen, and suggested we should start by replacing a part of the water system at the back of the refrigerator. The next day he installed the new part, reassembled the ice maker, we paid $200, and he said the ice will start soon, if not call me. The next day the ice hadn’t started so we called and he came out and looked and thought we should get a new ice maker. The following day the thing resumed making ice so we called off the new ice maker and it’s worked ever since.
Grades, Bray Appliance Repair, D, Appliance Doctor A Both were present and courteous, one of them dropped off and the other finished. -
Ramond was wonderful! He saved our refrigerator from an untimely death. He came out to the house and diagnose the problem. He ordered the part & said he would return Friday at four. I was late getting off work that day so didn’t return home till five and guess who is sitting in my driveway, Raymond! I am so grateful and thankful and that you waited on me. I appreciate your patience and your courtesy. You did a wonderful job and I will definitely keep you in my back pocket for all my future home appliance repairs. Thank you so much . You are very appreciated!

I live in Locust Grove. Crosley washing machine quit working. Called Appliance Doctor and talked to Dawn. I told her I was hoping for some information and hoped I wouldn't need someone to come out. She listened to my issue, and even though she knew it was unlikely they would send a technician, she had Raymond call me. He listened to my situation, said he'd do some research. He called back after a while, having investigated my issue. He advised me over the phone, and fixed my problem ... at no cost! Appreciated the honesty and willingness to help, knowing they would likely not get paid. Very impressive!

We have used the Appliance Doctor for a number of years. He has always been honest and helpful. He has fixed our washer, stove and dishwasher. We used another appliance service last year and the other service charged a service charge to diagnose, and another service charge when they brought the part. The Appliance Doctor has always had the part with him, or if he had to go get it, he never charged a second service charge. He has come on weekends when needed, and has always provided good service.

If you're looking for great service and honest care call this company! After talking to him over the phone and giving him the error code on my dryer Raymond was able to come out the same day. He looked up which part was needed, stopped by the parts store and picked it up on his way, and only had to make one trip to take care of my repair. An hour and a half later and I have a working dryer. Call these people!

Raymond came out n fixed my washer n dryer very promptly. He was very courteous n knowledgeable even diagnosed my dryer problem without even seeing it. Cost was very low considering the time he took with each appliance. Would recommend his services to everyone!!

Called later in the day and Raymond came out the next morning to repair my fridge. Described the issue over the phone and he even told me what he thought it would be. Arrived exactly on time the next morning, diagnosed the issue and it was exactly as he thought on the phone. He was very friendly and professional and repaired at a fair price. To the time to explain how a few things worked mechanically to me as well.

I'm leaving this review even though I did not use the service! I called and talked to Raymond about my washer that had stopped working. I told him what was happening with it, and he told me honestly that it would cost more to fix and diagnose it than the washer is worth. His suggestion was to actually just replace it - instead of him repairing it! I really appreciated how helpful his suggestions were and that he gave me an honest assessment instead of letting the repair bill run up. Next time I need an appliance repaired, I'll call him first.

Raymond is one of a kindest honest hard working man. You don’t come across good folks like him much these days. I called him Saturday about our dryer not heating. He came Monday afternoon and keep in touch with me in the morning (good feeling to know you’re not forgotten). He knows his appliances for sure. He guessed what it was just talking to him on the phone Saturday (only reason he had to wait till Monday is because of the part I need, he wouldn’t be able to get till Monday). Sure enough the problem was what he thought. I’m a people person, I enjoyed visiting with him (he has a great sense of humor) and he even let me help when I asked. Which brought fond memories of helping my dad as a child. My husband and I was really surprised with his honest bill. Raymond , you gained a forever customer yesterday for all our appliances needed in the future.

This was our first time having Raymond come out, and we plan to use him in the future for sure. He’s kind and hardworking and prompt. After weeks of not being able to get help from repairmen that we knew, Raymond came out the same day we called him and had our washing machine up and running in two days (we had to wait one day for a part to come in). He made sure to communicate thoroughly throughout our interactions so that we were never wondering where he was at or when he would get here. He has tons of experience and was very informative about different models in the event that we decided to upgrade. Very dependable and trustworthy guy.
