HVAC reviews in Portland, Oregon

This is the worst experience I've ever had with a company. They installed a water heater and missed one detail. Trying to get someone out to correct it involved being on hold for hours and being hung up on a couple of times.
I waited for 5 hours for a technician. It was a no show. After I called back they said the part was back ordered. Nobody let me know that throughout the day while I was waiting. HUH???
Do not waste your time with a 2nd rate company like this. -
I very rarely write reviews, but the total incompetence of fastwaterheater in Portland prompted me to leave this review. For over one week they cancelled my first appointment, then were a no-show, then had the wrong notes associated with an install they never came out for. Even after they cancelled the appointment, I did not get priority scheduling, I had to wait for the next available appointment - I finally told them I was going to have to call someone else and they did not seem that surprised. Would not recommend, there is nothing "fast" about this company.

I talked with Home depot professional install at 10:12 am on 5-2-2020 and was given a quote over the phone with the model of the gas water heater they would put in and explained the process. I received a call exactly 1 hr later from the installer saying that he was on his way. The installer was here at 11:30 went over the job for replacing the water heater to ensure that there would not be any complications and that the quote is correct, and the quote was right on. I did have to replace the expansion tank and that was extra but i expected it. At 3:00 he was cleaned up and pulling away. Excellent job, thank you

Getting the right pricing with Fast Water heater was frustrating. I was quoted three different rates and the last bid was the highest. Tim the scheduling coordinator said that the manager applied the discount and the price was going to be reduced after original bid, however when second installer Shawn came he raised the total price. I tried contacting the manager and never received a response. Very unprofessional staff. Not recommended!

Beware of the pricing. These guys are the contractor that home depot uses and they take advantage of home depot credibility. They ripped me off and charged me much more money than their first quote and also compared to other providers. I only trusted them because of Home Depot. They also told me I can return the water heater at the installation time and even gave me a form to sign, but later when I called them they denied having such thing. Do your research and don't select them just because of Home Depot.

Was quoted a cheaper price by home depot then what the technician told me. But home depot did not know I was not code compliant, and did say that the price is subject to change upon a technician diagnostic. I am assuming the first quote is if nothing needs to be changed but the water heater itself. So although it was more than the initial quote from home depot I was not surprised as most older water heaters need repairs to other parts connected to the heater to be compliant and up to date or repaired in general. So not mad, but home depot should make that fine print (of being subject to change based on what your specific needs are,) into bigger print so peoples expectations of quotes are more aligned.

Called on Sunday afternoon with a broken water heater. New one was installed before noon on Monday. Ryan was super helpful on the phone getting our quote and getting us scheduled. I did have to hold about 15 minutes for one caller ahead of us, but it was well worth the wait. The next day Caleb was on time and professional and did a great job getting us hooked up. The installation looks clean and professional. The final price was a little more on Monday as we needed a new stand and opted for the addition of an emergency shut-off. I used their service through Home Depot because I wanted to use my Home Depot card to pay.

Beware: This company only provides a 1 year labor warranty on the installation of the water heater, which is different than the 3 year warranty on the labor to fix the water heater itself. Fast Water Heater just stated to me that the leaking valve that THEY PROVIDED AND INSTALLED WITH MY BRAND NEW WATER HEATER LESS THAN 3 YEARS AGO IN 2023 IS NOT COVERED UNER THE "WARRANTY" AND I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COSTS.
I am very disappointed and expected Fast Water Heater to own up and fix this workmanship defect but I guess this is their way of making money. There's no pride in their workmanship... -
We had an emergent issue with our water heater. We used Home Depot who is contracted with Fast Water Heater. We did have to wait about 36 hours, (HomeDepot) for our appointment. Our estimate given by HD was $900 less than the estimate we received from Lee w/FWH. I did receive an email in detail about cost and how it can go up once the technician looks it over.
Lee took care of us and did a beautiful job! We have water and hot water!!! Lee is professional, courteous, and compassionate.
My suggestion, if you can don’t use Home Depot just call Fast Water Heater. They have financing available. Probably would have been cheaper if we went that route. -
I found Fast Water Heater through Home Depot and highly recommend them! This was not an easy installation. Our 30 year old water heater finally gave in and it needed to be replaced in its current location under our house in the crawl space. Lee Skinner is a fun, personable guy to work with and left me with peace of mind that good equipment has been installed to code and appropriately permitted. Never thought I would have as much fun on such an annoying project! They are terrific!

They recently Installed our hot water heater. Weeks later our water stops working post water heater connections.
I called the customer service and was treated horribly. The man is abrasive, rude and kept talking over me and would not listen to the issue. I would save your money and go with a company that provides better customer service and ownership for their products mistakes.
Will not be using on future projects. -
Fast was exactly that. Our 20 year old water heater went out on Friday, we thought for sure it would need to be replaced. We called and they were here Saturday morning first thing. After a brief inspection they were able to fix the issue saving us over 2 thousand dollars.
Jacob was friendly, informative and efficient with a great sense of humor. I would definitely recommend Fast Water heater company for all your water heater needs. Thank for the excellent service Jerry and Suse -
Installer Dave, first wasn’t able to get the water valve turned off, ok cool, called water company, they said they would send someone. Dave didn’t try very hard cause all I had to do was spray WD-40 on the valve. 30 mins later two calls to the water company Dave unpacks his tools again and begins installation. Wedged a pipe between the wall and water heater. PDX city inspector comes out and says that’s a no no. 2nd visit FWH (Dave & helper) comes doesn’t have any information as to why he’s there, 40 mins of explaining what the inspector wants, he again squeezed blocks between the wall and water heater, PDX inspector says it’s the same proofs the pipe. Blocks need to be secured to wall, which I explained to Dave the first 30 mins. Tried to get them to resolve, but it took forever and we have renters moving in, contacted HandyMoms to correct issue. Don’t waste your time with this company, the 599$ installation wasn’t worth the agony of dealing w an incompetent company. Cost me more money !

Bought a water heater from Home Depot that took awhile to be delivered due to low stock, scheduled Fast to install. The quote ended up being very close to the final cost so no surprises even though the new water heater dimensions were slightly different than what we currently had. Scheduling was quick and the installers were great, they hauled the old one away and no issues with our new carpeting (even had to go up/down carpeted stairs). Highly recommended.

Don’t waste your time. I called and was told this company does not work with home warranty companies. They REFUSE to let their technicians talk to your agent on the phone which is required of you want reimbursement for repairs over $250. My water heater has a 10 year warranty but they would not even try to repair anything over 8 years old and told me I would need a $5,200 replacement. A more customer friendly company diagnosed the issue same day in 10 minutes and charged me $0 and is coming back to do routine maintenance and some necessary plumbing repairs of galvanized fittings in our seven year old home.

They are no longer in business.
-
False advertising. It's not there anymore.
-
Watch out! They will give the run around without exception with warranty repair. They will ignore you. Simple and true.

Anybody know who Bryce C Schroeder is? Cause he had an appointment with me and never showed up. No call, nothing. I called the scheduling line for Sears and they couldn’t get ahold of him so they gave me a local number to call. I called the local number and left a message and no one got back to me. Sears has some problems they need to address.
