After moving in to my new home & figuring my ac unit was completely busted I contacted Dowd Mechanical. Within a few days I was able to have a brand new system installed. The install team arrived on time and they were very professional & knowledgeable. The install was done in a few hours & was very clean & neat. Great experience overall I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.

I received a complete new air conditioning and heating system from this company a few years ago. Since it was installed, I have used them for maintenance every year getting the maintenance contract to cover it. Every year I had my systems serviced before even turning on. Last year a service man came out, and I was told he didn’t realize I had an oil system so the appointment had to be rescheduled, which I had no problem with. It was rescheduled and the maintenance was completed. This year I made my appointment for my maintenance to be done and again the person that came out was not prepared to do an oil heating system maintenance. I received a call from the office stating this while the technician was at my house then telling me that they had made a mistake all these years and we’re not aware that I had a oil heating system even though they were the ones that put the system in and I had been incorrectly charged. They proceeded to tell me that the maintenance for the system would cost much more than I’ve been paying for an annual contract for my heating and air conditioning. I told them this was ridiculous that there was no reason why they should not know what type of system I had since they put it in and the same thing actually happened last year, so I don’t understand why they can’t get things straight. I’ve used this company even for another house I owned and never had any problems, but this is now starting to get ridiculous and I told them I will just go to another company. I’ve been warned about this company, but I never had any issues so I stayed with them but now I see what I was being warned About. All these years all of a sudden now they’re telling me that they have not been charging me the correct amount which sounds really sketchy since they put the system in. Something is not right here.

DOWD came to our rescue 2 summer ago when our AC broke at the hottest time of the summer, and they have been providing excellent service since then ! We now have a maintenance contract with them and have had Alex as our technician. Alex is extremely Professional, Efficient and a Pleasure to work with! I would definitely recommend this family owned business!!

Had my heater serviced. The technician was very friendly & knowledgeable. He explained everything to me & made me aware of what might be needed next time. I have the service contract which I feel is well worth the money. It was reasonably priced compared to the previous company I used. I have recommended Dowd to many people.

I have known and been working with Joe Dowd for close to 20 years. I have seen his business grow and have never been disappointed in his technical acuity and customer service which has always been outstanding. He was referred by my son and I have made many referrals, myself, over the years. Joe knows the importance of good custom service and has chosen employees who exemplify his point of view. The contactor was not properly placed. Burnt out. The workmanship could have killed me. I paid for a brand new unit in June 2022. This should not have happened. Do not have not them place in your new unit.

$150 waste of money for diagnostic. When we called this morning to make an appointment we specifically asked if they work on the oil heaters in levittown knowing that its a niche thing. The woman on the phone assured us that they do. The first thing the hvac gentlemen said is "we don't really work on these oil heaters". When i said to him that we specifically asked the woman about it he told us "she's just dispatch". We were told that the soot needed to be cleaned(over $2700), they may need to remove the wall to do it which would cost more, and they don't replace the wall if they take it down. Then after all of that, they would be able to diagnose what is actually wrong with the heater, if its something more than a cleaning. If you live in Levittown, don't walk...run! You might as well throw your $150 in a hole and call someone else. Benjamin Franklin came out and hour later and fixed it for $417. To be clear, the only problem ended up being the soot, which was completely cleaned, tested and tuned up for $417 from "Benjamin Franklin DBA One Hour", not the $2700 that it would have cost for the exact same thing from Dowd.

I have been using this company for all of my hvac needs for a few years now. They are always professional, on time and clean. The technicians have always been extremely knowledgeable. They don’t try pressure you upsell services which I appreciate. Their prices are fair, so I will continue to use them for my yearly maintenance and cleanings. Definitely recommend !

So very happy we chose the Dowd team to replace our dated HVAC system. Everything from initial installation, setting up the system, and service requests were extremely professional, hands down. Very knowledgeable and professional installers were some of the high points we experienced. I want to give a special acknowledgment to our sales rep, Scott Fisher and a top notch service manager, Terrance Swartz for taking great care of our system. The technicians were the best. Choosing Dowd HVAC was the best decision we have made!

Dan the tech from from Dowd was awesome! Not only did he do good work but he responsive to all my requests. He went above and beyond what I expected from a tech. I hope Dowd realizes what a great employee they have.

Dan McGarrigle came to my elderly parents’ house one night after their HVAC started to malfunction (it was cycling and not getting above a certain temperature) during one of the coldest periods of winter 2026. His visit followed that of another HVAC tech from a different company who told me I needed to replace my entire 2024-installed HVAC system and told me it would cost around $15k.

I called Dan for a second opinion. He ran a number of diagnostics, spent time thinking through various possibilities, and eventually concluded we needed a minor fix to get the system working again. He got it working again that night. I had a number of other potential issues (e.g., heat not getting to a certain room, a return that was improperly placed, and potential airflow issues) that I felt desperate to address right away. I appreciated that Dan had opinions about how to address the additional problems, but he wanted first to consult with his boss. He promised to get back to me about the additional problems and what I would need to solve them. Importantly, he said he did not want me to pay for anything I didn’t need. He assured me that my 2 year old furnace didn’t need to be replaced and he and his boss returned the following week to do some more testing and discuss solutions to my remaining issues.

Not only did Dan take the time to do his due diligence, but I sincerely appreciated his and his boss’s assurance that they did not want me to pay for anything I didn’t need.

Dan was courteous, highly knowledgeable and skilled about HVAC issues and, most importantly, honest. Based on my interactions with him and Joe (owner) — in comparison to several other HVAC companies I’ve had to engage in the last few months — I am confident that I am dealing not only with highly ethical but also highly skilled professionals.

I give Dan and Dowd Mechanical my highest recommendation. I plan to use their services for all my future HVAC concerns.

My home warranty plan set me up with this company. They were great. The technician was on time, professional and very nice. They kept in contact with me about every step of the way. Highly recommend.

JG services came out and fixed my air, however it stopped working after a week. The 1st person that came was great and professional. They sent a 2nd person within about a week, he did not seem to sure of what he was doing and the air stopped working about an hour after he left. They are going to have to come back a third time, I will update my review after that.
Here is my update. JG came back a few times to figure out what was wrong with my air, the good thing is that they were determined to figure it out. They last came out yesterday and so far it is working.

The service technician provided unacceptable service . He turned on the AC went outside and within 15 mins said everything was ok from the unit. I asked could you explained what you looked at to determine everything was fine. He bluntly said no it’s in his truck and was not going back for his equipment.
I will say on a positive note that the company themselves were prompt and excellent at communication. It’s unfortunate that the individuals the come to repair pulled down the quality of what would have been a great experience from the start.

We have had no heat. The heating unit needs to be assessed. The company owner is Very responsive- the worker was able to come to the house the same day of the call, even though it was late in the evening. The worker was Very professional and explaining the issues clearly.

JG Services installed a new air conditioner in my home. They were extremely responsive to my request and setting up appointments. On the day of installation the technicians were friendly, professional, and clearly knew what they were doing. Thanks Joe and Adam!

JG Services was referred out from AHS (Home Warranty Company). Most of the bad reviews for JG have to do with AHS. I never have good experiences with AHS and didn't have high expectations.

They definitely exceeded my expectations. They were on time for the inspection and very professional and informative. They were helpful throughout the entire process. Would definitely recommend!

Don't read the reviews related to AHS. JG was great!

Jerry arrived on time, was very helpful, friendly and thorough and got the job done. I'm so used to contractors I get through American Home Shield coming up with some kind of modification they need to bill me for to make a little more money but there was not of that. He got the job done and my A/C is working now.

They were sent to me thru AHS, smooth from start to finish. I dealt with 4 different people and they were ALL great, from the first guy that came an assessed the problem, to the guy that placed the order for the new furnace to the 2 guys Chris and Eric that did the install. They let me know what was going on from beginning to end. This is how you do business.

My family and I were away for thanksgiving and we came home to no heat. Didn’t know what happened but because of a warranty program we have, the good guys at JG services arrived that same day and within the hour, we were back to heating up the house. These guys were so professional too. No mess, very polite. Wore masks. They were updating me on arrival times too. The manager there, Matt, was patient with me and my family too.

Derek was very attentive to our questions and concerns. He resolved the issue and explained it to us in a way we could understand. We appreciated his patience and expertise with our HVAC system.
