Bensalem one is great but the other one put you on hold and never pick up again unless it's to put you on hold some more. Won't go to any other johnstone but the bensalem one cause they're great

They say they can't sell you parts if you are not contractor because of new "insurance policies". Bad attitude: asked for quick advice, seller said he will charge me for that, though no one was in the line behind me. Another customer staying near by answered my question right away.

Place is ridiculous. I just tried to purchase a stupid capacitor for my heater they won't sell it to me because I don't have a account with them ,guy was acting like I'm about to buy Flux capacitor for nuclear bomb.

Dowd Mechanical heating and air conditioning is an awesome company. They are all the above good quality,professional,responsive, on time. They are also very informative and very clean. They let you know everything and when they are done they take the time to go over the unit and the work they have done. They clean after themselves and take their trash when finished. The technicians are very professional. I really 100% recommend this company for your heating and air conditioning installations and other services. I am very happy and pleased with their work. They get 10 stars from me.

Dowd was recommended to me by a co-worker. Our heater fan stopped working. Even though I was not an existing customer of theirs they came out quickly order the part and made the repair quickly. I did check and their rates were fair. Ever since they have been doing regular maintenance on our system. They are always informative prompt and very polite. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of any service they offer.

BEWARE…Inflated prices, poor customer service and loyalty. To make this short spent $13,000 with this company to install a brand new system and within 2 years began to have multiple problems. Hundreds of dollars in service calls with no remedy to the issue. One technician spent a total of 11 minutes at my property. Lastly, I was quoted $560 for a service (majority of that being labor costs.) Had another company come today and charge $165 for the entire job that was completed in well under an hour…. GREAT JOB DOWD to stand by your work and customers. (Sarcasm)

Finally had to make the decision to trash the old systems and bring in the new. I had several mechanical companies come out to assess our situation, discuss options, including getting their take on high efficiency units and whether or not they were right for us. Dowd set themselves apart from the rest. They were honest, provided a fair quote, and I felt comfortable selecting Dowd to do the work. Their office staff was very diligent in returning calls and providing additional information when I requested it. The installation took 3 days due to having 2 separate full systems. The installation team was very personable, took time to answer questions and made sure I fully understood the system and the electronic thermostats. The quality of work looks very good and the cleanup after the job is exactly what you would expect. I would not hesitate in recommending Dowd.

I left a message expressing my interest, and within 24 hours, Scott Fisher contacted me. Scott was knowledgeable, attentive, and listened to my concerns. He came to my home, presented three options, and helped me make my decision.

Because my old system frequently overheated, he scheduled the installation for the Monday before New Year’s. The installation team arrived on time and worked throughout the day. I’m particular about neatness and attention to detail, and Dimitri and his team exceeded my expectations.

They went the extra mile by installing plywood flooring on one side of the heater, making it safer to work on without risking damage to the floor. All wires and cables were neatly tied, and every bit of debris was removed.

From start to finish, everything was completed in less than a week. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the professionalism and quality of service from DOWD.

Very happy with the service that DOWD provided. They arrived when they said they would. Pricing was reasonable. They were clean and neat and respectful of my home.

Over a year ago a Dowd technician came for a routine inspection. My unit is 10 YO and he said the the entire unit needed replacement. I called another HVAC Company to give me a 2nd opinion a month later and they said the unit was working efficiently. I continued to have the entire unit monitored by the same company for the entire year. Every inspection came back saying “HVAC unit was in good working condition “.
I implore anyone who calls to get a maintenance inspection to not use Dowd.As the technician they sent was incompetent and almost cost me over $10,000 to replace it.

I want to recommend Dowd Mechanical for their excellent, prompt, and thorough service. Fran, the technician, was on time and explained everything as he was completing our checkup. It is not often today that you get this high quality, courteous, and professional service. We are so happy that we retained Dowd and I would urge anyone looking for heating and air conditioning to use them as well.

My parents heater stopped working this week and called Dowd Mechanical on their 24/7 line and spoke to a very professional operator who passed my information to a mechanic that called back promptly to set up an appointment. A confirmation text with the technicians name and picture was sent once the appointment was confirmed. The technician Alex Olmeda arrived on time, was extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He diagnosed the issue, fixed the problem and did a full system check. We had a great experience with DOWD the technician Francis was awesome. He was professional, thorough, and respectful. We have been using their services since we bought our home in 2017 and have no plans to change. What makes the organization better is the great people that work there from the women I work with to book appointments to the technicians that come to the house. All in all a pleasant and pleasurable experience.

I would think twice before contracting with Dowd. I had them come to my house for an estimate to perform a small duct work job. The sales rep who came out actually upsold me on additional duct work. My original ask was to close my open return. He told me I needed my return enlarged. Dowd gave me and estimate of over $800 to do all the work. Just to be sure I got another estimate and that guy only charged me $175 to close my return and made no mention of the additional work that Dowd spec'd out. I asked him if I needed it and he said he could enlarge my return for just shy of $400. He said he could close my return right then and there but was unsure when he'd be able to the $400 job. I called Down back and told them that I only needed the duct enlargement done since my return was now closed and requested an updated estimate. They never got back to me so I called several times. At one point I asked nicely, "It's ok to tell me you're not interested in doing the job, I just don't want to keep calling." Immediately they sent me a revised estimate of $700. I called the office to inquire what the next steps were after I accepted the quote, and she said to give her my CC number for a 50% deposit which I did. Ten minutes later the sales rep called back and told me the owner re-looked at my estimate and he revised it to $1000. I asked why, and they said because my job was very complicated. I told them they were playing games and really didn't want to do my job. We all know how contractors are -- they like to play games with us when the have enough business. I just don't understand why, even when you ask if they are not interested, they insist on playing games just to drive you away.

This is the second home I have had Dowd's install a new furnace and air conditioner. I couldn't be more happy with the service and installation.

The customer service was excellent from beginning to end. The initial tech, Scott, evaluated my old broken system with the intent to repair, demonstrated where the issues were, and recommended several options on how to proceed.

We decided to have a new system installed.

Scott guided us thru the different options available, explained the financing options, and scheduled the installation quickly and efficiently. He was even able to accommodate the request for the installation of a 4" filter housing (which I would highly recommend).

On install day, Rachid & Terence were prompt and professional and got to work on removing the old system and installing the new one. In the tight quarters of the mechanical room, Rachid really went the extra mile to install the 4" filter housing while maintaining access to the adjacent water heater. Terence was especially helpful with the setup of the WiFi controlled thermostat and explained and demonstrated all the features.

At the end of the install they put special effort in to cleaning and restoring the area, both indoor and outdoor, to better than its original state.

All good with our terrific nee HVAC system from Dowd Fox. 10 years at fairly low interest allowed us to get the “better units” and also replace our hot water heater at the same time. Great customer service with every call!
