Technicians were reliable, friendly and professional, they also helped me to quickly problem solve an issue regarding the placement of my mini split. I rely on South Side for majority of my homes plumbing and hvac needs - they are always quick to respond and are great communicators (courtesy calls before arrival, project updates, share important information relevant to project decisions you need to make). I wouldn’t hesitate to call them - they know their stuff!!

Rich, Bill, Jake and the entire staff are always 5 Star! We had an issue with leaking pedicure chairs at the salon and Rich figured out the issues in minutes. My family has been without heat for about a week or so! South Side plumbing and Heating was contacted. They gave us a few space heaters until they were able to get out here and take care of the situation. I'm glad to say my new furnace was installed today. We have used South Side plumbing and heating multiple times and couldn’t recommend them more. Recently we had them replace our hot water tank and they did a perfect job and charged us a very fair flat rate price. John came out to give us an estimate on a few projects and educated us on what we needed to do and didn’t charge for the estimate. They are punctual, educated, polite, easy to talk to and will always get our call.

I’m new to Pittsburgh, so finding a good recommendation is tough. I get so many marketing fliers but they don’t seem to understand that successful service businesses rely on referrals and recommendations. You don’t earn that with a wasteful marketing budget. You only get that by consistently providing outstanding service.

My first attempt was with Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing. We had major communication issues and their service workers were rude, unfriendly, and messy.

This was absolutely not the case with South Side Plumming. Each one of my interactions with their staff was positive. John came at the assigned time, was kind, friendly, respectful, and clearly explained the entire situation while providing options. He cleaned the entire workspace upon completion. The final cost of repairs was a fraction of the Greater Pittsburgh Plumming estimate.

I’m thrilled, and will confidently send anyone looking for a recommendation to South Side Plumming and Heating.

Called them out to troubleshoot our AC. The tech was very nice and we discussed the utility of fixing vs replacing. I mentioned not wanting to spend a ridiculous amount to fix our unit as it was old and we were considering replacing. He thought he found the issue and spent about 1.5 to 2 hours resolving it due to his belief that the fix (estimated to be relatively affordable) would last us until we got a new unit. At the conclusion of the appointment, he indicated that what he had worked on wasn’t the actually issue, that he had switched the unit off because running it was likely pointless, and that we would need a unit. In the end it cost us roughly $260 to be left with no AC and to be told we need a new unit.

Although that was certainly disappointing, the main reason I’m leaving a review is because, despite the not ideal outcome of the service visit, we would’ve liked a quote. The tech put in a request for us to schedule a quote and when I called them the next day, they confirmed that the request to schedule for a quote was in the system. We were never contacted which is even more frustrating because we went with this company because they said our expense for the diagnostic visit could go towards our replacement if we needed one. Surely would’ve liked to be able to use this company for all our needs going forward, but the general experience was a bit disappointing.

These guys are always our go to for maintenance and issues. We recently had a heating issue and they were able to send someone out same day, which was amazing. Andre, the technician that came this time, walked me through the root cause of the issue, the cost to fix, and what we need to do moving forward. I’d recommend these guys to anyone and everyone.

My water heater stopped working on a Sunday. I called many businesses and was automatically quoted a very high price for a replacement trying to make a sale rather than a service call. Finally found South Side plumbing who scheduled me for a service call
Andre came he was kind and professional. He made what was a very stressful time for me a pleasant experience. He was able to find the part and rather than me waiting an additional day he went and picked the part up and returned so I did not have to wait any longer. Definitely would recommend to friends and family.

I was extremely fortunate to have had South side heating & plumbing for the installation of my new furnace. It was an extremely difficult job and I was very lucky that Tim, the project coordinator, agreed to do the job. The job was done perfectly and I couldn't be happier. The two men who did the job, Ian and Andre, were friendly, courteous, and worked hard and continuously to do a great job. They went above and beyond the call of duty. I would highly recommend South side heating and plumbing to everyone, they are a great company. Thank you again for the excellent job .

Fantastic service as always. Very responsive and transparent about pricing and options. The technician was very respectful of my home and wore shoe covers without me asking him to. Overall I am very pleased with the work they helped me with and I will continue to be a loyal customer in the future.

**EDIT**: I recently received service again from South Side Plumbing & Heating, and it reenforced the wonderful first impression that this company made. I was lucky enough to have Andre respond to my service call. His professionalism, talent, and kindness made me incredibly confident that I chose the right company. When it comes time to buy a new furnace, I will only look here due to my great experiences.

Highly recommend South Side plumbing! I actually chose to go out-of-pocket with them for a repair vs the sketchy plumber that my home warranty tried to set me up with. Glad that I did! Scheduling with Bill was a pleasure and Rich was quick and thorough with his service, even taking the time to explain some future preventative maintenance that I may want to do. Will use them again!

Eli came to replace shut off valves at our home. Work was completed to our satisfaction. Eli was very professional and courteous.

Will be using Southside Plumbing again for other plumbing needs.

Andre is awesome. He was thorough and thoughtful about how to repair a very old leak inside the wall of my old house. He also cleaned and prepared my boiler for another winter.

I'm tasked with taking care of my in-laws house as they aged and spent a lot of time and effort trying to get service from their prior company. The neighbors recommended South Side saying they had a very good experience and were happy with them.

They evaluated the needed work, discussed what our wants, needs, and budget were and put together an estimate. They spent time discussing the estimate and different options to narrow it down and ensure the final product was most appropriate.

The staff who came and did the work were professional and courteous beyond expectations. I was working from the house and occasionally came to view their work and ask questions. They appeared perfectly happy accommodating my questions and I felt comfortable asking as many as I wanted.

When the work was complete they took time to walk me through all the work they did, ensured I knew how it operated, and ensured I knew to call if I had any questions, issues, or concerns.

Highly recommended, can't say enough good things about them.

Had a warranty for my furnace,but they could not horon it.,but I need heat today,so I had them do the work out of my pocket.was very fast,and very nice.will use them in the future.Thank you!

South Side Plumbing is the best! We have used them many times for a variety of projects at our two properties in Pittsburgh. They are efficient, always get the job done, and the pricing is very fair. Special thanks to Rich for helping us to do multiple jobs around the house including faucet repairs and cartridge replacements. Bill is incredibly knowledgeable and does a great job of communicating ahead of time to make sure the job goes smoothly. We will continue to use them in the future!

South side plumbing is an incredible company. I have dealt with them for the last 20 years. They have done all the sewer lines in both our homes. They also did all the 2” Black iron pipe lines at my business. They are really responsive and professional. We just used them this week to fix our ac and they sent Andre. He was really quick and professional. I felt well taken care of.
After he left they called me and gave me an update as to what I need to do in the future to keep my system running due to it being an older system. I highly recommend Southside plumbing for anything you need.

If I could give ten stars I would. Absolutely the best. The entire service experience from my first call to the day of my appointment was flawless. Well done! Andre is exceptional.
