We had a wonderful experience working with Case! In the design stage, we felt that Ellen and Neil helped us carefully consider all possibilities and came up with brilliant solutions to the challenges our space presented. In the actual construction stage, Tom and Allan were master schedulers and had great attention to detail such that our project was completed ahead of schedule and with superb craftsmanship. We are thrilled with the way our bathrooms, kitchen, and informal dining room turned out. We very highly recommend Case.

My favorite thing about Case Design is that you can count on a team of experts to handle your project and resolve anything that may come up. Their customer service is excellent - professional and courteous. We hired Case for a deck demo / re-built project which turned out beautiful! We also hired the Fred division of this company for smaller jobs where expertise was a must. Highly recommend them!

In 2023 we engaged Case Design/Remodeling Inc. for a renovation of our mid 1930’s home. We wanted to create an owner’s suite on the first floor and to modify the second floor, creating a guest suite.

Kelly, Director of Project Development and Caroline, Designer, produced three sets of plans incorporating variations on the features we described.

We ultimately opted for the plan that included a significant expansion of our first floor bathroom. This was not a feature we had originally considered and was certainly more expensive than the other plans, but we were never pressured to choose this option. We chose it based on its merits, which were many; in fact, it was a brilliant design feature.

We were given estimated project beginning and ending dates, which were adhered to exactly, due in no small part to Brian, Project Manager, who skillfully kept all facets of the job moving, with no extended down time.

Bill, a highly skilled Master Carpenter, who was on site every day coordinating all the other craftsmen, worked magic with the buildout of our space and new cabinetry throughout. Bill and Brian were in constant contact to keep everything progressing smoothly.

During the demolition and reconstruction work the unaffected areas of the house were always very well protected, generating a minimal amount of mess.

Everyone on our Case team was a true professional. Any questions and concerns were always dealt with promptly and to our satisfaction. Based on our experience, we highly recommend Case Design/Remodeling Inc.

Well-deserved praise for the team that carried out our recent remodeling job, which involved the demolition of an existing garage and the construction of a two-story addition in its place.

The team that was pulled together was excellent. They got us through the design phase with clear, concrete, common-sense advice and great architectural and design sense. They were flexible and responsive, and attentive to get a sense of our requirements and our tastes, and to help us achieve a result that satisfied our aims. Their designers were creative and imaginative, and helped us throughout the project with design decisions.

Our project manager was a pleasure to work with. He is a great communicator, and guided us through every phase of the project, from preliminary walk-through to completion. He took care that we understood what was happening at every stage, patiently fielded all our questions and concerns, and was quick to deal with any issue that arose. We came to have complete confidence in him.

His construction team was also excellent. Our lead craftsman had great skills, he could do anything and everything. In the course of a long project, we enjoyed getting to know him.

We were also impressed by how hard-working and skilled the other workers were. They took great care in their work, and with protecting other parts of the house as the work progressed. We were dubious when Case assured us that we would be able to remain in the house during the project, but the crew’s attention to dust control and cleanup really meant that it wasn’t hard for us.

With Case, you get what you pay for. We’ve used them and their handyman company, Fred, for a number of projects over the years. They do high-quality work, deliver what they promise, and stand behind their work.

I don't always do a good job of recognizing people who go above and beyond both professionally and just in genuine kindness. While it has taken me a number of months to find the time to write this review, I feel compelled to share my experience both with Case and, in particular, with their Bethesda Area Senior Remodeling Consultant, Brian Knipp.

A couple of years ago, my husband and I began a bathroom remodel project with Brian. While this project was not big by Case's standards, Brian met with us a number of times taking painstaking care to understand what we hoped to accomplish. The details of the project were very important to us as we hoped the newly designed bathroom would serve as a place of sanctuary from our otherwise very overscheduled lives.

Once we settled on a plan, Brian and his team had to negotiate a number of permitting obstacles very unique to our situation. Though there was no “go by” to assist in the process, Brian was able to quickly and creatively work through to a solution that satisfied all the involved parties.

Just as the project was about to begin, our family experienced a significant loss of income due to an employment change. Brian and Case had already received partial payment, scheduled subcontractors and were set to begin the remodel within the month. Brian graciously offered to place the project on hold while we reassessed our financial position.

Ultimately, we determined that we were not going to be able to go through with the project and Brian worked with the ownership team to decide what would be due or need to be refunded. Again exceeding expectations, Brian and Case returned the vast majority of our downpayment, only holding on to funds which had been spent already, even going out of their way to return previously purchased supplies and to refund the proceeds to us. It would be very difficult to express how important each of those dollars was to our family during that time.

Throughout the entire project and subsequent wind down, Brian was unbelievably gracious, kind, selfless and genuinely concerned with our family’s wellbeing. Since that time, both my husband and I have unabashedly recommended Case/Brian to anyone considering a remodeling project. It seems there are so few companies who take the time to get to know their customers and perhaps even fewer consultants who put their client’s needs before profit. Our family was tremendously blessed to work with just such a company and just such a consultant.

Brian and team, though I know it was not your intention, we genuinely hope word of your care and professionalism spread far and wide so that many others may receive the gift of working with you and Case! Thank you again so much for all that you did for us!

Working with Case was an absolute pleasure from start to finish and we couldn't be more pleased with the results! Each stage of the entire process of consultation, design, permitting, and craftsmanship made our investment feel worthwhile. The final results of our newly renovated kitchen and expanded living space are nothing short of stunning.
What sets CASE apart from other companies we attempted to engage with was their commitment and innovation to bringing our vision to fruition. When we reached out for other consultations, we were met with dismissive non-answers about how to complete the project as we saw it. CASE's Adrien arrived with enthusiastic supports and ideas for how we could make it work and was eager to guide us through the process knowledgably. His creative solutions and connections helped us organize and schedule some essential prework with our central air conditioning that had made other companies simply shake their heads.
Another standout from the experience working with CASE was the personal touch from their design leader, Alex. Working with her can only be described as fun. You feel as if you've walked onto the set of an HGTV show as the lucky participants. The team makes you feel that valued.
While they led with complete professionalism and expertise, they were also quick to allow participation in the process. You aren't simply receiving something stock from their plans or distribution partners (although they had some great ones to recommend - appliances especially); they sought and incorporated our input such as allowing us to custom our range hood and a feature accent to our backsplash.
Throughout the entire process Adrien checked in regularly and oversaw the work being done. George, the contractor, was also great at communicating and helping wherever possible to make the project happen in a way that allowed us to remain as comfortable as possible as brand-new parents. Every member of the team did amazing work!
CASE truly goes above and beyond, and I’m so grateful for their hard work and dedication. Five stars all the way! Please consider them for any future work you're planning. You will be thankful you did.

We had a large addition to our 200+ year old house in mind. We decided on Case Architects and Remodelers due to the large scope of the project and the expertise they could provide. We were not disappointed. From the initial contact with the project developer (Kelly Vogan), architectural designer (Kwasi Hemeng ), interior designer (Caroline Moore), project manager (Neil Martin), and construction leader (Jorge Solano), to completion, the project went smoothly. Despite unforseen problems in dealing with an older home, the project was done to our complete satisfaction and within the projected time frame. There were consultations during each step of the project. Our Case team was open to our concerns and suggestions and dealt with them expeditiously. Well done. We highly recommend the Case team and have no reservations in using them in the future.

We had discussed with couple remoodel companies but select Case Design and Architecture. I have to admit that my wife had made an excellent selection of Case to do our remodelling. Our design team lead by Mark Richardson and Carolyn Elleman have done an execellent job to design, select, and implement. My wife really appreciate their efforts to make this remodel in such a fanstastic way. The project manager Jorge Solano has done an excellent job to handle the project that run very smoothly with different contractors and he has to deal with Howard County inspections (Three different inspection groups) and his foreman Tony Goncalves has excellent skill to make the beautiful island and cabinets. Thanks, Tony, Job well done. Tony has an excellent workmanship. We are very happy with their works which give us a very beautiful first floor of our house. We stay at our home while they work and have no interference to each other.
Thanks to everyone! JOB WELL DONE!

Dave Vogt put together an experienced team for our extensive kitchen renovation. The project initially seemed daunting but with the depth of experience at Case it surpassed our expectations. We wanted to extend an inside kitchen wall and take out the middle section of an outer kitchen wall to install a 7-foot-wide window. Dave’s response: Case does this all the time. Dave’s team also took out the kitchen bulkheads to create lots more vertical space. The result was transformational with vastly more natural light. Dave brought in master designer Caroline Moore, who managed to pair a stunning quartzite island and countertops with walnut cabinets and marble backsplash. Fluent in all design styles and fixtures, she made it easy to quickly narrow down choices. The construction phase could have been challenging but we had project manager Brian Knott. With his extensive construction knowledge, attention to timing and detail, and professional can-do attitude, he orchestrated a deep team while taking advantage of individual talents. New cabinets were installed, new plumbing, new electrical, drywall, exterior wall brick work, quartzite countertops, backsplash, all new appliances, etc... Finished on budget six weeks ahead of schedule! Special thanks to Douglas for all his high-quality hours onsite as a Case builder and shadow manager, Eddie for some beautiful carpentry details and Marlin for his ability to use stains to mesh old hardwood floor sections with new. Kudos to Goran Zukic at Stone & Tile World for a well crafted quartzite island and matching kitchen countertops. It’s my favorite piece of “artwork” in the house.

We had an amazing experience with Case on our home remodeling project. From the very beginning, their design/build model made the entire process smooth and straightforward.

Once we chose Case, we were paired with a design team and had weekly meetings where all of our questions were addressed. They kept our budget closely in mind and were always transparent and responsive—even when we felt like we were asking small or insignificant questions. One of the things we loved most was being able to select all materials in one place instead of having to shop around at different stores.

Scott North and our designer were fantastic to work with—knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly helpful in guiding us through the design decisions.

When construction began, the transition to our Program Manager, Brian Knott, was seamless. Brian was extremely hands-on and clearly communicated closely with the design team. He kept us informed throughout the project with weekly meetings, regular updates, and photos so we always knew what was happening.

Our main carpenter, Marlon, worked on our project every day for five months and was truly exceptional. His attention to detail and craftsmanship were incredible, and he was always friendly and professional. On the rare occasion that an issue came up, the team immediately brought it to our attention and worked with us to problem-solve, clearly laying out all options so we could make informed decisions.

Even more impressive, the project finished a full week early—something we’ve never heard of with a major renovation! We absolutely love being in our new home, and everything turned out exactly as we imagined.

We couldn’t imagine working with any other company and would recommend Case without hesitation.

From the very first appointment to after the project finished (on time and on budget - when does that happen?!), we loved working with everyone at CASE. They quickly understood our style and worked with us to do a total gut renovation of our kitchen and two bathrooms, and various other changes throughout our apartment. They were always available and very communicative - and we had total faith in their work and their subcontractor's work as well. Now that we have had a chance to live in the space for awhile, we can honestly say we wouldn't change a thing - except that we actually miss being in touch and seeing our friends at CASE - Kelly, Carolyn, Tom, and Bill!

Winn Design + Build consistently stands out for the quality of their home designs and the professionalism of their construction process. Their homes are thoughtfully designed, beautifully detailed, and clearly built with a high level of craftsmanship.

Just as impressive is how well they manage the building process. They are organized, transparent, and focused on delivering a great experience for their clients. I highly suggest working with this firm.

In the world of custom residential construction, Winn Design+Build stands out as a true leader. Their work is defined by a level of precision and craftsmanship that is increasingly rare to find. Beyond the build itself, their team operates with a service-first mentality that ensures the client feels supported throughout the entire process. For anyone seeking a sophisticated, high-quality build, they are my top recommendation.

The team at Winn Design did an outstanding job on my home addition project. They completed entirely on time and on budget which is rare in this industry. I have since referred them to many others in the area.

Very positive experience. Conrad was the daily on-site leader and could not have been more helpful. All other contractor members (electric, plumbing, etc) were highly professional. Encourage more use of the online exchange to review daily progress and address concerns as work progresses. Otherwise, great work and final product.

We thought updating our 1960’s home with its many different additions and styles would be impossible, but Micheal Winn and his talented team did it beautifully. We wanted to update the kitchen, dining room/office, and a rear addition to match the midcentury style of the front of the house. WINN understood what we wanted better than other firms we interviewed and presented multiple options to achieve our goals.

Once a design was selected, we appreciated the constant communication and collaboration throughout the process. Working with talented architects who listen to your ideas and provide honest feedback was an absolute highlight of the project for us.

In the end, we now have a beautiful and cohesive house. WINN was able to open the adjoining rooms while creating clear definition to each space. Everywhere you can see and feel the excellent craftsmanship. The natural light that pours into the house is spectacular! The repurposing of an underutilized storage room at the back of the garage into a home office was a brilliant idea that brought exceptional value and a key room addition we never would have imagined.

The WINN team gave us our dream house and we love living in it.

We added onto our 1938 Cape Cod style house in Arlington, Virginia to accommodate a three generation family of five. Winn Design did a great job incorporating the requests from all of us. For Gramma, me, there is a lovely first floor suite with a wide ADA compliant hall and a private bathroom. For my son and his wife there is a new bedroom with beautiful skylights and a master bath bath on the second floor and an art studio with lots of light in the basement. For the tween and teen granddaughters there are bedrooms for each of them and they only need to share a bath. For all of us there is now a large comfortable screened porch right off the kitchen. Everyone we worked with at Winn was pleasant and capable. The onsite supervisor kept us informed every work day by text and photographs about the progress being made and what to expect next. I couldn't be happier with our "new" house.

We engaged WINN for a significant renovation including a kitchen overhaul, carpentry, floors, electrical, venting, painting and built-ins throughout our house. We had a vision of what we wanted but worked well with their design team to get ideas and feedback. The project was challenged when our design coordinator left the firm late in the design phase, but they made sure the timeline was not impacted. The architectural team brought practical solutions to the plans considering how the house is structured and used. Our project manager, Conrad, was wonderful, being detail-oriented, flexible with details and ensuring subcontractors completed their work timely and accurately. When our hardwood floors were sanded and stained with the wrong color, they made sure the work was redone at the subcontractor's expense. Due to family issues, we needed to stay in the house throughout the renovation and Conrad made sure we only had to leave the house during the flooring work.

We worked with Winn Design+Build to renovate our 1927 home with a 2002 addition. The project involved a complete exterior renovation to improve the home's curb appeal, the addition of a screened porch, converting an existing room to a mudroom, and a kitchen renovation. We decided to work with the Winn team because of their experience renovating older homes while maintaining their historical character and appeal, and we are thrilled with how the project turned out.

The Winn team was a pleasure to work with throughout. While there was some turnover in the team members assigned to our project, we consistently had the support we needed and felt lucky to be even more impressed by the new team (thank you, Lauren and Ken!). Winn was collaborative and always responsive to our questions and suggestions, including being willing to research a new siding material for our exterior that they had never worked with before that we all ended up loving.

We lived in our home throughout the renovation and the Winn team made every effort to minimize the disruption to our daily lives and keep the work site as clean as possible. Everyone who worked on the project was kind and courteous, and all our neighbors noted this as well as the quality of the work. We are particularly grateful to have had the best possible project manager, Conrad, who ensured that everything ran smoothly and who we genuinely miss seeing every day!

We contracted with Winn to add a sunroom and main floor bath to our house, as well as to construct a garage, finish an exercise room and full bath in our basement, and to put new siding on our house. Working with Winn was a pleasure, from start to finish. Their in-house architect helped to ensure that the addition blended well with the existing structure, and their interior designers worked closely with us in selecting fixtures and paint colors. Winn's project manager was on-site every day, scheduling and supervising subcontractors, in addition to working on cabinetry. He had a keen eye for detail, and consulted with us as various aesthetic and functional questions arose over the course of the construction. The entire project came in within budget and on schedule. We could not be happier with the results, and can enthusiastically recommend Winn.

Select Kitchen and Bath did amazing work remodeling our bathroom. The team was professional, talented and reliable. It was easy to communicate with them and they listened to our needs. They took our 1950s bathroom and upgraded it to the 21st century. The results exceeded our expectations and we could not me happier.
