Silas and his team exceeded all expectations! From the very first phone call to the last shrub planted, the team was professional, detailed and thorough. They made sure we were happy with every aspect of our project and communication was excellent. If anything needed to be changed or adjusted, they were quick to respond. I can honestly say these guys are the hardest working group I've ever seen. Our large project included: all paver driveway, lighting, irrigation, trees and shrubs, stone landscape walls, a patio, walkways, sod, boulder walls, pillars, tree clearing, drainage culverts and bluff cleanup. I highly recommend them and will be hiring them again in the future.

After receiving many inches of heavy rain over the course of the few weeks in March and April, we noticed that the access road to the back of our property was rapidly eroding. This road is directly below our house and if it gave way would have severely damaged our home. We contacted several companies for quotes. Most were outrageously high and did not provide any real expectations for a resolution to the problem. When Silas from Gartman Landscaping and Excavation came to the house, he explain to us what he would have to do. Within a week, I had a written quote. While the quote from Gartman was not the cheapest of the quotes we received, it provided details that led us to believe it would be our best solution. After the work was started, we asked if they could do a few additional things to help correct the problem. The extra cost involved with the additional request was quite reasonable. We would highly recommend Gartman to anybody seeking to have erosion control measures performed on their property. The four gentlemen who worked on our problem were Jeremiah, Lloyd, Hayden, and Jack. All received the same five star review we are giving to Gartman. We hope to never have an issue like this again in the future, but if we do, we know who to call.

We had a great experience with Silas & his crew. All the guys were professional & very respectful. We had an RV pad & patio done & everything turned out great. We will definitely use Gartman again for any future concrete & landscaping projects.

They cleared about 2.5 acres for us and created some side by side trails which turned out great. The work was done within a week even with several days of rain. Very reliable, efficient and quality work. Highly recommend!

Awesome! Wonderful crew! This business is owned by a young man that is responsive, driven and reliable. We have been impressed with the work done by his crew and him. They just completed a very large retaining wall and the wall is beautiful. Now we are on to phase two and he will complete the landscaping.

They are hard workers and very thorough. Professional, polite, and showed up on time. Also did an awesome job on our front yard.

Silas and his crew came out and gave me a very reasonable quote and estimate on a complete overhaul of my backyard. Previously it was filled with pea gravel and weeds, Silas and his crew were able to get all of that removed and get fresh sod down and really made the place pop and come to life within the timeframe I requested! Couldn’t be happier with the results!

I recently got my back patio redone and these guys did an amazing job with it. I had a patio made of pavers and they removed all of them and stacked them so nicely for me to be able to reuse them and then installed a concrete patio. Once they got started on it, they had everything finished very quickly and it looks great. The pricing was the best I found as other companies didn’t really even come close to what they were able to offer me to get this project done. I’m very satisfied and have already recommended them to several friends.

Now for the fun part of why 5 stars to 1 star:

11/12/25 Update: I had gotten my patio done at the end of April of 2024 and in October of 2024 I had reached out to the owner about some cracking that was occurring stretching the length of the patio and sent a picture and was told some cracking was natural and to reach out if it got bigger. This year in August
I reached out about had bad the crack had gotten and was starting to crumble and never even got a response. Now in October I reached out again because the crack now has another crack coming off of it reaching the other entire length of the patio. I finally got a response and someone came and looked at it and would let me know what Silas, the owner, says. The response I then received was that it could be fixed but I would need to pay since it has been over a year, however I had originally reached out an entire year previous. I don't know if anything will come out of all of this but just wanted to let it be known about how this was handled (or not handled). I attached the pictures from Oct 2024, August 2025, Oct 2025.

Gartman addressed drainage issues in my backyard. They provided an excellent plan for adding French drains and grading the yard to provide proper drainage away from my house. In addition, they dressed up the berm with rock beds around several trees. Their crew was very professional.

I have property for sale and it was brushy and you couldn’t really see what was for sale. I hired Gartman Landscaping to clear it. They did an outstanding job! It looks much better than I ever expected. On time on budget.
I will hire them again for any future project.

After 25 years of living in the same home, it came time to replace the Leyland cypress along the property line. We called Gartman landscaping to add a variety of shrubs including Green Giant Arborvitae that we hope will last the next 25 years. Thank you for a job well done!

I bought my house last year. At the inspection, I was made aware that the front flowerbed was funneling water into my foundation. I had been looking for someone to come and fix this issue since November of ‘22. I had called a number of landscapers that were recommended to me. I got ignored by most and ghosted by one. This wasted MONTHS of my time. I was quite frustrated. As a last resort, I decided to turn to landscapers with good Google reviews and found Gartman Landscaping and Excavation. I am happy to say, they lived up to their rave reviews. Silas was very responsive. He listened to what I needed/ wanted. He got a quote to me in a timely manner and the work was completed much sooner than I anticipated. I’m very happy with the quality of their work. The front of my house looks fantastic and now, I’ll sleep better knowing that my foundation will be dry. I would recommend Gartman Landscaping to anyone.
