I came home to a cold house and a unit that wasn't responding yesterday being a single mother I was worried my kids would be cold seeing as the temperature had dropped and it was only gonna get colder. I called Powell Brothers whom installed my unit and with in an hour Jeremy was at my house fixing the problem he went out of his way to answer my question and help me, in no time my unit was back up and running. Thank you all so much at Powell Brothers for being so responsive and always going above and beyond!

The office followed up twice with me to make sure the time for the repair of my Google Nest Thermostat met my schedule. The technicians were on time. They were courteous and professional. I had spent over three hours on the phone with Google technical help and crawled under my house twice. They took one look at the thermostat wiring and identified the problem. Fortunately it was a quick fix. (Just to note, the Google technicians on the phone were courteous and worked hard to figure out the problem. They also did not charge me for the repair by Powell Brothers).

I was referred to Powell Bros to come out and look at my Amana Heat and Air Unit because it had quit cooling.I gave my address and ask tech to call as soon as he got close to my home and I would meet him.He called and it took me 5min or less to get to my house.When I pulled up the tech was standing in my driveway.I told him the unit was right around the side and he said he was finished.He had cleaned drain tube and added 3lbs. of freon to unit and said it was fixed and was charged $250 dollars said I would be billed.
Well 45 days later the unit quit again and this time I called another H/A company.They came out and found a leak in the unit and repaired it and added 8lbs. of freon.I really felt that Powell Brothers should have found the leak and repaired it when they came out.Powell Brothers also charged alot more for the freon than the new company.I will not be using Powell Brothers for any repair work in the future.

The installers were friendly and knowledgeable and the installation of our new unit only took a couple of hours from start to finish. From the first phone call into the office and through the installation we were very happy with Powell Brothers and would definitely recommend them.

Kenny Powell has always been responsive to my needs. He did an excellent job replacing my warn out heat pump recently at my old house and now he is installing a new dual system at the house I am building. He took care of all my insulation needs and incapsulated the crawl space at my new house. His crew does excellent work and in a timely matter.

Here is an update since posting the original review further establishing not to use this place. As mentioned my unit was replaced Jan.6th 2023. As of yesterday my unit installed by this was place was officially replaced a second time after completely frying around 3 months ago. Upon the new installation I was hit with many questions about the installation because the people who replaced it this time around were shocked at how poor the installation of the last unit was going as far as not even replacing everything leaving the original copper wiring from the 19 year old unit soaked in Freon. Prior to finally needing replaced again it had gone out a total of 3 times since this review was posted 6-8 months ago and the unit barely being a year old. When installed it took the guys maybe 2 hours to replace an inside and outside unit whereas the new guys took atleast a full day and going as far as sending another personal out to ensure the quality and installation of the new unit. I understand the owner mentioned the last unit is not one commonly installed but that is no excuse for poor quality which ultimately was determined why my unit fried out this go around. I’m out $9800 for a second unit in less than two years but I feel very confident in the quality and unit the other place put in. They even gave me an extra year on my warranty on top of the already several year long warranty I have to give me peace of mind after everything I’ve been through in less than 2 years. Avoid Powell Brothers at all cost.

This is a warning to not use Powell Brothers Mechanical Contractors.

I had a brand new HVAC system installed January 6th, 2023. Up until yesterday my unit has worked just fine. Suddenly it won’t come on all together. All switches are flipped on. The thermostat batteries working. Filters changed. It absolutely won’t come on.

I called them this morning as this is unacceptable that it’s a brand new unit already causing problems less than a year later. The lady that answered basically told me that because my home warranty (which is even junkier than whomever installed this unit) partially paid that it was their problem and that they couldn’t do anything for me. At the end of the day Powell Brothers installed it not the home warranty that I no longer have after the fight I went through with them in the first place to get it replaced.

The lady didn’t give a single care in the world and offered no other help for this issue considering. I try really hard to do business with local businesses but this makes me hesitant in the future. To have poured so much money into something that isn’t working less than a year later as temps are hitting below freezing is beyond frustrating and you would think a company would do right by this to figure out why my brand new unit simply isn’t working considering THEY DID THE INSTALLATION.

Kenny Powell serviced my mini-split heat pump system and it is performing well. He showed up on time with all required adapters and equipment. We discussed other options including home weatherization. I plan to use Powell Brothers for attic insulation this Winter. Fast response, knowledgeable and fair priced. Thanks

So happy to find this company! Our heat had been out for almost a month while we had another company out (Not Powell brothers) and each time they came out it was something else and we had enough. We called Powell Brothers and they were out the next day and had it fixed all within an hour. They know exactly what they are doing. Great business!!

Great Company! Our air conditioner stopped working Sunday afternoon so I called Powell Brothers in Clinton. Brad showed up right away and got it up and running. Amazing to find customer service this great still exists. We are so grateful for Brad and Powell Brothers!!! Very very reasonable price!

I can't recommend Powell Brothers HVAC enough! While other companies were quick to push me towards purchasing a new HVAC system, the Powell Brothers took a different approach. Andrew at Powell Brothers HVAC suggested performing a diagnostic to provide a second opinion. His honesty and integrity shone through as he discovered that all I needed was a simple repair. Powell Brothers did a great job in trouble-shooting and repairing my 13 year-old "war horse" AC/heat unit. The crew that showed up at my house were extremely knowledgeable and actually fun to work with. They helped me make a tough decision on whether to repair or replace my unit. Happy to report, they were able to repair/upgrade parts on my old unit and it is running like new. I highly recommend these awesome folks.

I called powell brothers out to just quote a new ac system after being told by another HVAC company that my compressor was bad. Powell bros came out and inspected my existing unit to be replaced. When he was finished he pulled the panel off and replaced a run capacitor, Turned on the system, and it's blowing ice cubes again. Turns out the compressor was fine! Great company! Thank you!

Very fast response! HVAC stopped working/ cooling Sunday night in the middle of the hot summer. Called 1st thing Monday morning and Kenny was at our house a little after 12 that afternoon. It was a simple problem of a capacitor being out and within 10 minutes he had it replaced and our house cooling. Most other places I'd called couldn't come for several days!

So many times Powell Brothers has taken care of my home summer and winter! The owner himself has came out to fix our heat when it's been well below freezing even when we've had ice in the ground and no one else could get there. Most recently they came out and fixed an issue at our business that kept us from working and did it quickly and very friendly.

I have used Powell Brothers about 4-5 times over the last 20+ years, and specifically Kenny, the owner. They have been great! Fast, reliable, and they know what they are doing. Just got a mini-split for our sunroom, and it's fantastic! Highly recommend them!!

Powell Brothers got out to me quickly to check out the issue with my old unit and install a new unit despite very icy and snowy conditions. Communication was great from beginning to end. All staff was pleasant and efficient. I know I wasn’t their only customer during this busy time, but they made me feel like I was. Oh and the fact that they offer financing was a lifesaver!

I called the company on a Thursday night, left a message, and heard back Friday morning from them. They were able to send Ryan out that Monday, and he was awesome. Super nice, tolerated my youngest asking a hundred questions and showing off flips on the trampoline until I was able to round him up and get him inside lol.
I was really impressed. Ryan quickly figured out the problem with my unit and had it fixed in thirty mins. He didn't try to upsell me on anything like other companies and service people have in the past, and he didn't try to sell me on "things that will need to be fixed in the future" type speeches.
Definitely going to call this company again should I need anything hvac related done, and I'll be referring them to everyone I know.

We had a part on our system give out when temperatures were dropping into freezing. Powell Brothers sent someone right away, and they were able to figure out the problem quickly. We got the part we needed in two days, and they sent a technician to do the install before the weekend. We so appreciated their prompt service and good communication.

I've used Powell Brothers Mechanical Contractors for years. They installed my new system a few years ago and have always been reliable and professional. Kenny has answered phone calls on the weekends and during off hours to make the installation and job right. We had a few bugs with wiring on the new system that they worked on to make it run perfectly. I would recommend Powell Brothers in Clinton to anyone.
