A little over a month ago I had Mike out to evaluate an older heat pump system for my daughter’s home. After talking with him about the options he offered I chose to replace the whole heat pump system with a new Amana unit. It’s true, no pressure sales from Mike. I had 2 other estimates and Melton’s had the best value and price. My daughter stated her experience with the installation techs was great. The system has been working great! With a 2 year labor warranty and 2 free maintenance services during that 2 year period we are confident the system will perform for years to come.

A coworker recommended Meltons since she was happy with their services over the years. I called them up and they were friendly and professional. The tech arrived at my house in a timely manner and had great communication. He was very thorough in his inspection and diagnosed the problem quickly. He was very honest about the problem instead of trying to rip me off. He explained the problem and the test results and fixed my air. I really appreciate him! Definitely will be calling back when I need HVAC help!

These guys are the best!! I had an emergency with my unit my daughter and I have breathing issues , they sent a tech out and fixed me right up so we wouldn’t be without a working unit!! Anytime I have questions about filters, maintenance they don’t care at all to answer them or get me scheduled asap!! I love my Melton Guys ( Quincy, Jonas, Brandon and Kaine) !!! And Jamie and Cora in the office are always professional, kind, and so helpful!! This company is just like family!

Melton Heating and AC provided quick and effiicent service - I loved being able to send a text via their text chat on their website. They contacted me promptly and sent someone out same day. Kaine did a good job finding our issue and offered a reasonable solution quickly. Two of our neighbors rec'd Melton and now we know why!

We were amazed by the technicians attention to detail. They were extremely friendly, knowledgeable & took such pride in their work. 2 techs were here until later in the evening in order to complete the installation. We highly recommend Melton Heating & Air Conditioning!

I am so thrilled I chose Melton to install my new HVAC! Mike came out on a Monday morning to check out my old unit and give me a quote for a new one. My quote from Melton was over HALF what I was given from a different company in town. By Thursday morning of the same week, I had Richard and Roger installing my new unit. They were in and out in under 3 hours. Polite, courteous, and affordable. Thank you, Melton!!

Be very careful in dealing with this company. They came out to look at the HVAC for some elderly friends (90 y/o) and ended up charging $2600 more than another local company that I called for exactly the same unit (about $9000 to replace a very small HVAC heat pump, vs $6400 at the other company).

They also completely refused to itemize the invoice for the elderly couple.

Shop around. I know Melton's had a good name in Clinton, but they were bought out by somebody else and not owned by the original owner anymore.

Their blatant overcharge and lack of transparency is very concerning, especially in dealing with an elderly couple. My suspicion is that they refuse to itemize invoices to hide their upcharges, including the maintenance agreement that is included in the "one price".

And, just as shady, they never gave them a written estimate of work. I saw another review on here about them doing that and the company replied that they'd fix that, but apparently never did.

When I called and politely asked the owner to explain the excessive cost, he became belligerent and threatened me with a lawyer and was too embarrassed to tell me how much the new unit cost.

But they weren't too embarrassed to tell my elderly friends that their new Goodman/Amana unit is just as good as the Trane that they were replacing.

And watch out for their $150 Comfort yearly inspections, which somehow managed to miss the problems in their old unit last year while it was still under warranty.

Bottom line: my friends trusted this company and got ripped off so bad the owner refused to explain the charges.

Additionally, despite what Melton's website says, Trane told me that Melton's is not an authorized Trane dealer.

Do your homework on this company before using them.

We had our AC serviced today and Kaine was our tech. Kaine was excellent, very nice and professional, answered all my questions, worked hard out in the sun cleaning our outdoor unit, dealt politely with my yippy dog and all in all he definitely earned our repeat business. In fact I went ahead and did their deal where I prepaid at a discount for our fall service based on todays experience. The attached photo doesn't do his work justice without the "before" shot but Im embarrassed to admit our outdoor unit was super dirty and he had to work hard to get it looking this clean!

I’ve have used these folks for the last few years and they are always professional and personable. Recently, Quincy came out and diagnosed that my blower motor was probably the culprit for the noise I was hearing, not knowing if I needed it right away he went ahead and ordered it. The noise got louder and my blower went out ( when temps were around 10 degrees) a day before the part came in. They were able to squeeze me in the very next morning! I am so grateful for his for thought of ordering the part just in case I needed it and didn’t have to wait another week freezing! Thanks Quincy, and thank you guys for always being honest and providing quality service.

Highest recommendation! From scheduling to installation to maintenance, Melton is the BEST. No issues at all since system installed in 2016. Two x/year maintenance worth every penny; certified techs always on time & leave detailed reports. Had some air duct damage after house re-plumbed by a plumbing company. Mike of Melton sent Duncan & David promptly & they did fantastic work on air duct repair/replacement for literally thousands less than another company's estimate. No need for a second opinion. You can trust Melton to be the best. THANK YOU, Melton!

I called Melton to schedule a cleaning service and they were able to accommodate me within a few days. Kaine came out in subfreezing temperatures to service our heating unit. He did an awesome job explaining what he was doing and pointing out things that may need attention in the future. He was very friendly, polite and professional. Highly recommend Melton for service!

They went above and beyond my expectations. On time, courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. I would definitely recommend them.

Several phone calls - no-one answers. Left voicemail with request for call back to arrange bi-annual HVAC service. No-one called back after several days! Will find alternative business.

Kaine checked out our indoor unit and checked and cleaned our outdoor unit. He was very polite, wore shoe covers to protect our floor and was very nice.

If I could give zero stars I would. Had Melton for 30 years and bought 2 HVAC systems from them. But they are not the same
They wouldn't answer the phone when called several times for routine maintenance. I am older and not used to scheduling by computer. I prefer to speak to a person especially since I had questions. A person did finally call back, but he was very rude and tried to intimidate me ( I wonder if he would have been so nasty if I had been a young man...I really wonder). These people don't appreciate loyalty. I suggest you don't waste your time with them.

Kenny was great. He arrived on time as per schedule and was very thorough. He pointed out a potential problem that other company service people overlooked in the past.

Call their emergency number after hous due to the home A/C blowing hot air. They had replaced our outside heat pump two years prior. Their technician (Kaine) called me back within 10-15 minutes. He offered to come out, but it would cost $300+, or he could try and talk me through some minor thing over the phone to try and get it working. After a few text messaging and phone calls, he got it working. He easily could have came out charged me but decided to help me instead at no charge. 10 out of 10, I would recommend. Very polite & friendly. Oh, give Kaine a raise.

I don't understand any of the negative reviews about Melton. The only reason they haven't answered phones in my experience was due to technical difficulties outside of their control and they were very communicative about this issue on their Facebook page and their website. The employees of Melton I have dealt with over many years have always been friendly and helpful. The owner is humble and fair, and still comes out to customer's home personally to fix units. Melton is a very reputable, local company and I will remain a loyal customer. I hope the 1 star reviews get outnumbered with the positive reviews you deserve. Thank you for remaining locally owned and operating with integrity even in a world majority operated by money motivated, large corporations.

Great company. When my furnace went down they came out that day. Unfortunately the original diagnosis was not the issue, but they gave me a very fair quote on a new system and stood by it and didn’t charge me for the original diagnosis. Every one I dealt with was pleasant, timely and transparent. While awaiting the new system install they even gave my family some electric heaters to keep warm. They were not the cheapest but were far from the most expensive and stand behind their work. In this business quality and service matter more than just being cheap. They were very respectful of my house and time.

Service was great! I was notified who was coming with a picture of the technician and details about his experience as a technician. He was thorough and explained everything to me very well. I greatly appreciated the service, promptness, and professionalism. We will definitely be using them again for future needs with our HVAC system.
