I was told Don Kennedy roofing was the best in town by others that had used them. My home was hit by the East Nashville tornado on March 3rd 2020. Their representative Terry, was prompt, professional and very clear on what would be guaranteed. Their choice of shingles look great, better than what we had. We chose the luxury line. Over all their service was exceptional. I even had a last minute repair that they assured me they would take care of to make life easier. I live in a 140 year old historic Victorian home and the roof is the most important! Terry, helped me understand what my insurance coverage was going to take care of, and what my personal responsibility was going to be outside of that. I feel confident my roof will last a very, very long time without issues. Very satisfied customer!

We had some hail damage from a storm in May 2025 and received some money from our insurance company. We worked with Shane Taylor for a more comprehensive roof and gutter/guard replacement rather than just what the insurance check would provide. We had at least 15 contractors knock on our door with an important distinction in that Don Kennedy was not a storm chaser. I contacted them. We had a top notch crew who swarmed our roof and our project manager Joe was a great communicator and took ownership with a couple bumps we experienced. To be expected in a major project like this and they rose to the occasion. Excellent work and result. we had Don Kennedy & Co do our gutters on our last home - and so when our new home needed gutters - they were our 1st call. We had major drainage issues with our gutters and Don's team redesigned the flow of the gutters and recommended a larger / round drainage system . It was affordable - the work was stellar - they were punctual.. we are very pleased. Highly reccomended

Don Kennedy Roofing installed our metal roof in 2010, and it looks just as great and untarnished today as it did after the original installation over 15 years ago. We were delighted with the quality of the workmanship at that time. When we decided to extend a small 10'x6' addition over our front door this year, the obvious choice was to re-engage Don Kennedy Roofing.

Regrettably, we cannot stress enough that this job did not go well. First, the installers arrived with the wrong color and wrong width of metal roofing panels. After finally securing the matching material, they forgot to include the facia board and it took some time to sort out that the facia board was in fact part of the original quote. Due to this mistake, the drip edge and panels were installed prior to the facia board, and so the installers later nailed the facia board in place with nails that are now visible. Of course, this was not the proper order of installation, which led to a sloppy appearance and multiple scratches of the facia board which was later touched up with paint that doesn't quite match the metal roofing color. There were also multiple scratches on the drip edges and panels which were then also touched up. The installers explained that they did not have a properly working tool, and one of the installers actually threw the tool into our front yard out of anger and frustration - well, they should have been equipped with properly working tools from the start, and why does the absence of them somehow justify sloppy workmanship?

As the customer with a brand new small roof addition and lots of touch-up paint now in my possession, I see that the large and complex roof from 2010 does not have as many scratches in its totality as does this "new" roof. On this small structure, all I can see are scratched panels that have been touched up with mismatched paint along with visible nailheads where there should be none.

We learned from this experience that this is a totally different company than that of 15 years ago. The work crews, sales staff, and management team failed to demonstrate to us the institutional knowledge, craftsmanship, and integrity that impressed us so in 2010. All that remains now is the original company name. The workmanship fails to live up to the legacy of its founder's high standards.

Drew did a great job looking over our roof. He was honest, professional, and took the time to do a thorough inspection. Really appreciate his transparency and expertise, highly recommend!

Inspector from there company came out and identified what actually needed to be done. They sent Vernon out to do the work and I was impressed. It was a labor intensive set of tasks and he worked it solid for 2 days. Roof looks better than ever and everything is now ready for inspection. Solid work!
