Appliance Repair reviews in Austin, Texas

My 15yr old dryer was a nightmare for both me and ABA techs Garrett Salazar and Jeremiah Dehmlow. It took 6 separate trips to my home to operate on my dying dryer before it was finally brought back to life. I was at my wits end and even threatened to buy a new dryer, but Jeremiah reminded me that saving my dryer and saving my money were the whole point of calling ABA. Throughout the whole ordeal, those guys never complained. Especially Garrett, who spent the most time working on my machine. Thank you ABA, and thank you so much Garrett Salazar and Jeremiah Dehmlow. Both Masters of their craft.

My French door LG refrigerator was showing an error code related to the freezer defrost. ABA replaced every component in the freezer and then finally the control board. They kept coming back to troubleshoot and take the next diagnostic step and never charged me more than the initial visit and part. They kept working with me until my repair was successful. This was not an easy fix. I have never had another company that devoted. Our technician Kenneth was great.

I had a disappointing and frustrating experience with ABA Appliance that I feel is important to share.
In 2023, my dishwasher stopped working at a rental property I own, so I called for a diagnostic service, advertised at under $100. The technician discovered the problem—a simple pulled plug—during the diagnostic itself. Despite this, I was billed $266, nearly triple the quoted fee, without any prior discussion or approval. The invoice (photo of repair notes attached) even states the fix was part of the diagnostic. I was not contacted until after the technician had already left the property, and I never agreed to pay more than the diagnostic fee.
At the time, with a 5-month-old at home and a commitment to paying my debts promptly, I paid the bill despite the bad taste it left in my mouth and chose not to dispute it.
Yesterday, when the same dishwasher began acting up again, I gave ABA a chance to make it right. I requested a waiver of the diagnostic fee, pointing out that I had already paid well above the standard amount in my last interaction. I made it clear I was willing to cover any reasonable repair costs; I just wanted someone to confirm it was fixable and provide a price before investing a quarter of the dishwasher’s value into another diagnostic.
My request was denied solely because I hadn’t complained back in 2023 “and there was no history of this issue.” After reading other 1-star reviews, I see I’m not the only customer who has experienced this exact situation.
This experience highlights a serious need for post-service quality control at ABA. Charging well above the quoted amount—especially without customer consent—undermines trust and professionalism.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend ABA Appliance and strongly encourage others to look elsewhere for service. -
Excellent service! Garrett, the technician, could not have been better in every way... Respectful, knowledgeable, timely, etc! Excellent job repairing the clothes washer.
Great experience!! I highly recommend this company! Customer service is impeccable! -
The stove igniter was replaced and the gas smell is no longer, but it cost about half the cost of a new stove. Mine was purchased in 2022. So I had the work done.. If they weren't able to fix it, it would have cost me $120-150 (can 't remember exactly), which I thought was way too much for a trip charge, but I needed it fixed right away. Another issue I had was the office. Expected payment right away, before I knew from my renter if it was working okay. They called me for payment twice the next day when I was driving and was unable to give them my cc number. The second time they were rude and acted like I was making up a story. I paid them the first opportunity I had to get to my computer to make the payment. I might be looking for a new repair shop for future needs.

Aba Appliance was fantastic! Timely, professional and fairly priced. Beyond the scheduled repair, they were able to repair an issue that I had been told previously was unfixable. Highly recommend!

I called and got same day service. Garrett came to analyze the problem with my ovens—both upper and lower. He arrived when expected and quickly diagnosed the problems, ordered the parts and was back in a couple of days to repair providing the same excellent service.
This is my first time using ABA Appliance. I’ll definitely use for future needs. -
I was able to get an appointment same day for my washing machine. Kendall was my repairman. He showed up on time and was very courteous and professional. He was done in about one hour and gave me an estimate. Kendall is highly recommended and I would use them again!

The technician was courteous and responsive. However, after diagnosing my ice maker as failed and ordering a replacement, he reinstalled the original unit during the visit and it immediately resumed normal operation. It has continued working since.
I canceled the replacement part and was charged a restocking fee. While this was noted in the policy, I feel the original unit’s functionality should have been confirmed before moving forward with a replacement recommendation.
Communication was good, but I would have preferred a more conclusive diagnosis before parts were ordered. -
They came out promptly to evaluate my 20 year old Thermador double ovens that just weren’t keeping totally accurate set temperatures any more. They told me there were no parts for them but the thermostats could be rebuilt. Those were top of the line ovens in their day and $1500 seemed reasonable to repair them. They were ready promptly but I was out of town for a month but they scheduled for my return. They came out and popped the thermostats in and the ovens are great. I would recommend them highly for prompt, friendly and competent service.

They deceive you and have dishonest business practices by not giving an estimate until you've paid their $340 "diagnostic" fee. I contacted them for an estimate on repairing a Samsung tv. I told them the specific parts that needed to be replaced. They would not tell me how much it would cost. This is obviously done so that they can quote you an exorbitant price after you've already spent $340.

NISI couldn’t answer a question honestly during pre-visit so didn’t even trust them to come out at all.
-
Great service in my Samsung refrigerator’s ice maker
-
Samsung warrantee provider make up excuses so they can avoid offering service.

Good luck with this circus! $100 for travel time and diagnostic, another $100 for labor plus you’ll have to pay for parts and tax. I told them to go pound sand. I’ll fix it myself.

They do not honor scheduled appointments and are very difficult to communicate with as English is not their first language. They also do not use a local area code and instead use a Dallas area code. They seem to be a scam. I definitely do not recommend using them under any circumstances.

Horrible customer service and unreliable. Scheduled two service call's and stood me up for both. The amount money lost from working while waiting for a technician, I could have purchased another washing machine that was supposed to be fixed under warranty. The tech text me and said there would be a charge although the repair was covered by warranty. This company is a joke.

Worst company to deal with when it comes to scheduling. Customer service is just as bad. They seem to care less since they have the contract with Samsung and know that. Makes me not want to buy any other Samsung products since repairs have to go through this company.

My Samsung Ice Maker was over freezing. Samsung escalated a ticket to NISI and within 48 hours they sent a technician out to fix the issue with a full replacement of the Ice Maker unit. Very professional and quick. 5 Stars!
