House Cleaning reviews in Austin, Texas

We love maids around town. They had a rocky start to their business in our area but they listened to my concerns and worked hard to keep my business while they worked out the kinks. They're now operating smoothly and we're very happy when cleaning day comes. We live in Fulshear.

Really good experience! She was nice and got to everything on the list except the baseboards. Bathrooms and kitchen were both cleaned very well and she asked what we wanted done exactly as well so that she can get to it. Have already recommended this service to others and we are continuing with it!

I recently hired Maids Around Town to clean my house, and the woman who cleaned my place did a terrific job! She was professional, thorough and my house looks wonderful. I plan to have Maids Around Town clean my home on an ongoing basis!

Cassie did a wonderful job cleaning my extremely messy apartment! And she was very nice and prompt. She even called me after the cleaning to help me find an item she has put away! Just amazing.

TERRIBLE! DO NOT USE THEM. THEY OVERCHARGE.ROUTINELY, BROKE THE CEILING FAN AND SEND OUT UNTRAINED CLEANERS.
WHY DO I HAVE TO PICK A SINGLE STAR? ZERO STARS!!!!!
I Can not tell enough about the POOR service (OR LACK THERE OF) from this company. I hired them for my personal home and for my Short Term Rental. I need to RELY on someone to help me so that i get A+ REVIEWS. It is instrumental to my success.
To start, they ALWAYS OVERCHARGE. They said that the cleaners 'Punch-In' when they arrive at the property. I have been there at the beginning and at the end of a cleaning and they are NOT always being accurate (honest) about the times. Additionally this is a huge waste of my time having to manage the payments and then ask for a refund and then to make sure it occurred. It was imply a waste of my time. Cleaners are supposed to add value to life, not make more work. This happened almost every time.
Next, they cancel on dates they are set for in-coming guests. I have a full-time job and can not miss work to spend 4+ hours doing a job that I had planned on hiring professionals for. This was enormous stress, and I had booked them for SXSW FOUR months in advance!!!!! Again, another issue for me to manage and more stress for me to make sure I had my rental covered. Not worth it.
Next and my last straw with them. They sent a cleaner that didn't have any experience and was not fit to work for them. She made a bed WITHOUT the fitted sheet. I was in the house. She could have asked me for the missing item! She put the duvet cover OVER the comforter not around it like a pillowcase! It continued. I had to go late to work so that I could HELP MY CLEANER so that I could leave my home ready for renters!! And they still charge ME! THE WORST PART: She tossed the sheet into the air to make the bed and caught my ceiling fan and BENT the blade and maybe the housing. It took WEEKS before anyone came to look at the fan. They have been dragging the repair/replacement out for a month now. When I ask about it, I get excuses every time. "My manager is off and they have the contact info fpr the store" (use the notes in your outlook calendar) "we can't afford to ship the fan, we are a small company", blah blah.
Don't go into business if you are not prepared to train your staff, and to pay for repairs caused by your employees, and do not try to OVERCHARGE clients.
I hope this will help. I have since found an amazing team in town that sends three cleaners, they are fast, and no issues. It is hard to find good people, but they are out there. -
Maids Around Town did a great job on our house. Angela showed up on time, cleaned, and organized everything. It was very nice to come home to a clean house. We will be using them again.

By no means is this a rant but true events with no embellishments. The only reason I did not rate that I hated it is because Enedina (the cleaning service provider) was a 10 in cleaning but not on promptness. Their customer service is HORRIBLE! Of course, my post might probably be deleted once they see my comments but there are other rating sites. On January 16th, I found Maids Around Town on Thumbtack and made an appointment for that Saturday and decided to call them the day before to confirm and they told me that they did not have any information for me. I talked to Nicolas and since I was not able to provide credit card information right away, he did not call me back like he said he would to set up an appointment for Saturday. The week of February 1st, I received several calls that I later found out they were from Nicolas (this was 2 weeks after I initially found them on Thumbtack and called them for an appointment).
I was recovering from surgery and needed my house clean so I booked an appointment for February 6th. Jeanette called me 15 minutes before the appointment and told me the service provider's son was sick and she did not have anyone else to cover her. Jeanette told me she would reschedule me for 50% off the next visit. I told her about my surgery and asked her to put me first on the list. Jeanette told me she would keep me posted and I did not hear from her.
Two weeks later, I received an email reminding me of my appointment with Maids Around Town. Whomever is booking you for the first time asks you how often you want the service, do not tell them. IT'S A TRAP!!! The email stated that if you cancel within 48 hours, they will charge you and you can redeem those "Happy Home Points" on your next visit. I felt obligated to try them out and since I had the 50% off I decided to let them provide me a service.
Again on February 20th at 9:45am, I received a call from Jeanette and she left a message letting me know the supposed "most reliable service provider " they set me up with was going to be showing up "close to noon" while my appointment was at 11:30am. It was 12:35pm and I sent a message telling them that the service provider had not shown up and I had to leave at 3:30pm for an appointment. Enedina showed up at 12:37pm and left 2 hours and 30 minutes later. Since I loved her service, I did change my service from 2 weeks to 3 weeks instead of just cancelling Maids Around Town services all together.
It comes time to pay Maids Around Town and they did not honor my $20 per hour initial service (on Thumbtack) and my 50% off. I text them to get back to me and wrote that they had made a mistake but they never got back to me and charged me the full amount at $22 per hour. I received an email today reminding me of my appointment on Saturday (2 weeks after their initial visit not 3 weeks like I asked). I sent a text message cancelling everything one week and 48 hours before hand and they should not charge me for it. If anyone wants to challenge the facts I have provided here, I have emails and text messages to prove everything.
On a side note, I think I was invited to rate Maids Around Town because they saw me rate Enedina's service and I said a 10. Enedina is great at what she does but it is a shame that she depends on HORRIBLE customer service providers. I have a feeling if they knew my real rating, Amber would not have sent an invitation. -
I've tried a couple of different services and really I'm not that hard to please. I made myself understand when the other services said they don't move furniture. But we have hardwood floors and really pushing the sofa out a bit to get under them isn't a chore. Maids Around Town did this, without me asking. I'm very impressed and looking forward to the next visit.

Used service in San Antonio. Needed maid next day for special event. Nick the scheduler came through. My maid was a hard-working young man who had years of experience and was bundle of energy. Pricing decent and fit my budget. Definitely will call again.

I used the service for years...but they cannot keep employees and they were often unable to make the scheduled date/time. Canceled today. I was contacted a week ago to say that they wouldn't have someone available to clean at the appointed day/time. I mentioned that I had house guests coming and asked if I need to find another service. Suddenly, they found someone and scheduled an appointment for today at 9:30am.
At 8:55 this morning, they texted to say they couldn't make it...for the second time in a month. When I have to cancel or move an appointment, there's a fee - yet they can cancel 35 minutes before the appointment, leaving me scrambling to find a replacement?
Never again. -
When I called they promised I would get the same maid every time. My husband and I are not comfortable with strangers going through our house. First time we used the service, Krystal was our maid and she was great. I texted to request her for our future service, they said sorry they couldn't. Though thats one of the reasons why I booked them in the first place. They texted less than 24hours prior to the second service to reschedule...?!?!?! Usually that wouldn't have been a big deal, but my in laws are coming to visit and I'm 7months pregnan (super difficult for me to clean our big house). I was so upset, and knew right away that this is going to be a very annoying and hectic company. This is very unprofessional. I would not recommend this company, unless you don't mind a random person every time and being rescheduled with very little notice. I'm very disappointed.

I've been using Maids Around Town for a few months now and I love their service. Every employee has been extremely pleasant and professional. They do a great job cleaning and the price point is the lowest I've seen.

BEWARE! Think twice before giving your cc number for them to automatically charge you! I should have read through the various reviews and checked the BBB (they got an F rating). The first cleaning was ok, not terrible but not great either. The price was reasonable. The second visit showed the true colors of the company. Not only was the cleaning awful, not worthy of actually calling it a cleaning, but the "customer service" was completely appalling! I get it that people are late, they might not do a good job, etc. BUT this company does not honor their promises they list on their website OR by their sales people. They were late arriving to my house (they promised to arrive at a certain time and I paid extra for this service) and I had to leave for an appointment. I asked to reschedule. They said that I would be charged for a full clean because I cancelled at the last minute! Long story short, they sent 2 people out a few hours later who did an extremely poor job. They left before the allotted time - 2.5 hours. My house had been cleaned the week prior by the same service and it was by no means a big job. They could not even do the little work that was promised. We must have talked to 3 different people over there to settle the matter. They were all extremely rude. They said that they would give us a discount on our next cleaning due to the poor job of the crew. Of course, we said no thank you. They charged us in full even though they were not there for the entire time they charged us for. We called, noone answered or ever called us back. We sent an email cancelled all future services. Low and behold, I got an email reminding me of my next service! I responded to cancel and the guy replied with "I'm sorry to read that, may I ask why you're wanting to cancel your services with us?"??????? This is an immensely poorly run business. Be careful! If you are not happy with the service for any reason, they will not honor their promises. They have sales people that sell you on their service and offer promises galore. Do not believe what you hear, because it is too good to be true!

I've never used a cleaning service before so I was a little skeptical. But Maids Around Town was absolutely great. The price was very reasonable and they did an awesome job cleaning our home, better than I expected!

We just moved and were forced to change maid services. We found Maids Around Town via Thumbtack. $20 an hour and they did laundry? Nice! My new house is small and I am very clean. When I first spoke to someone I told them what I was looking for...weekly cleaning with laundry service. I was told they would schedule 2 maids for 2 1/2 hours. I was on the schedule for Mondays
Sunday rolls around and I get a text and an email about my upcoming service on Monday at 8am. At 7am Monday I get a call that my maid called in sick and they need to reschedule for noon. I say that's fine and wait around till 12, then 1, then 130. I call and they tell me that they didn't know the maid didn't show. No call No show? They apologize and setup a comp service for Tuesday. Sounds like decent customer care.
Tuesday comes and both maids show up. I tell them what I want done and they say they don't have enough time to do laundry and clean in 2 hours. (Note my washer and dry cleans in 1 hour) and say they will get done what they can. 2 loads, forgot to take out the trash, and did an ok job of cleaning. Hey its free so I'm not complaining too much.
I call into the office an tell them the maid said they didn't need 2 maids for my house and i should schedule 1 for 4 hours to get to all the laundry. Now it's set for next Tuesday. Tuesday comes and it's a new maid. Nice lady who tells me she is a trainer and she will do an excellent job. I show her the speed wash/dry on our washer and dryer and everything else in the house. then leave. When I get back the house is cleaner than before and everything looks much better. 1 load of laundry was done and they left clothes in the dryer and washer? You're kidding me. Oh the best part....They charged my card $113? $20 hour x 4 hours = $113?
I call into customer service. They apologize and offer me a refund for the laundry time or they can send someone out to finish the laundry. I said I would prefer the refund. I ask how they came up with the charge for $113 and they told me 2 maids for 2 1/2 hours? I told them I had 1 maid for 4 hours. They said she was training and a 2nd person was there and that they were very slow and that made it impossible to finish the job. At this point i'm done. Give me my refund and i'll hire someone else. It's just not gonna get done correctly. Customer service has still yet to contact me about how much my refund is.
I give them 2 stars cause the 2nd cleaner really didn't do a bad job. The customer service, billing, and management just sucks -
I have had a very unpleasant experience with this company. They have a mix of people that work for them. Some are really good but some are really bad. Although I provided the square feet of the house, number of the rooms and bathrooms, the work never gets done in the scheduled amount of time. They stayed late when schedule was done for the afternoon, but when scheduled in the morning they left as they had other work to go on and didn't finish half of the house! They responded that they would provide more cleaners but that didn't happen. Quality of work is poor unless you follow them in every thing they do to check the work. In general cleaners are very slow. I am not happy with them and I am quitting the service.

I am a ex worker of this company and I highly recommend you don't use this service. The Houston company is a joke and the are nothing but crooks. The people looking for a maid service aren't the only ones that get screwed over by this company their maids do as well. My last check with this company was $9.07 for a 3 hour job. My highest check was a little over $100 and that was for 3-4 houses. Your maid for a 3 hour job will get maybe $34 for cleaning your house. My husband did a quote to see what the company charges compared to what I was paid and we were shocked. They gave our house a quote of close to $200. If I was the maid sent to this job I would have gotten maybe $50 for it. Half the time ot isn't even the maids its the people who schedule the jobs that are the cause of unfinished or poor work as we are given a certain amount of time on each house and are not allowed to go over that time. I have had small apartments that would only take 2 hours be 3 hours while a big house will be the same amont of hours when it should be 4 to 5 hours as 3 hours aren't enough time to get the job done the right way. I highly recommend going to a different company or finding someone who doesn't work threw a company if you want the job done right.

I am a Realtor and was glad to hear my new listing was going to get a "deap clean" before showings began. What a horrible job Maids Around Town did for my client. They even demanded a tip upfront, before the job began. They were paid upfront. Never do that with this company. They left the home without even touching some rooms. Cleaned a tub and didn't lift the tub mat. Didn't clean ceiling fans at all. Didn't clean the very dirty utility room floor, not even sweeping let alone a mopping.I could go on and on. Skip this incredibly bad service company.

Used their services for two years...particularly because there was a certain cleaner that I liked a lot. Once she left, I decided to discontinue MAT but they told me they would give me discount to try a new “highly rated cleaner.” This person was supposed to be over for 3 hrs, she arrived 30 minutes late, quickly cleaned and left within 1.5hrs. I also heard a loud noise and saw that my vacuum that she was using was dropped and it chipped my wood floor. After she left...my bathroom counters were permanently stain with some cleaning solution that she brought. I have been using Maids Around Town for two years and they never stained my bathroom counters. I have no clue what she used! When i complained about it, customer service said they can give me a discount on my next service! Are you freakin’ kidding me...why would i ever use you again. No refund of the last service, nothing.

Mary did a good job in cleaning our 1,100+ sq. ft. home. I am requesting, that Maids Around Town send Mary for our appointment in April. There were things, that she could have done better, but being that the house wasn't clean in a while, she did well. Mary suggested that next time, she would spend a little more time on the smaller bathroom. Her pointing, that out to me showed that she a dedicated member of Maids Around Town.

AMAZING!! I've used them bi-monthly for about 3 months and they are truly amazing. I work full-time and the last thing I want to do each night and weekends is clean. I keep up with the vacuuming because I have 2 dogs that shed. But wiping down cupboards, baseboards and shutters, no thanks. I've never been happier with a cleaning service. And, another plus - they are VERY reasonably priced. I highly recommend them and I'd rather cut down on my groceries than let them go!
