PLEASE DO NOT USE LAWNSTARTER! About a year ago I used their service because I thought it was convenient and reliable. It went great for about 3 months until they damaged and knocked over my 15 year old lime tree given to me from my grandmother who passed away 8 years ago. I called and requested them to put the tree back up and place back into the ground. After numerous disputes with them over the phone they refused and said they will not fix it. I submitted Better business complaints and even hired an attorney. After 2 months it became exhausting for my family and I so we just accepted that they will not own up to their damages and stopped pursuing. The lime tree was still producing limes. After a YEAR later Joey Walker called me and said he wanted to make it right and apologize for everything and took ownership. He said he will send a vendor to fix the tree by standing it up. So the vendor showed up and stood the tree up but after 3 days the tree started to lose all of its leaves. A week after that all the leaves and limes fell off and the tree completely died. After I told Joey what happened he said he’d get back to me. Since then he will not respond to any of my voicemail messages or text. I also included Katherine Kennedy as well and she hasn’t responded either. So now I had to press criminal charges for vandalism. My family and I are now reliving the nightmare from a year ago. I would have never thought that me getting lawn service would result to damages to my home and having to get law enforcement involved. Please people DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. First photo is when I propped the tree up and how it looked prior to when Joey sent the provider which is the second photo.

LawnStarter is very easy to use and book lawn care with. I've used this app for years and love the professional service I get for a great price. The app makes it easy to communicate with my lawn care pros, and the payment system is literally one-touch and you're done. Recommend!

LawnStarter caused property damage to my front yard and never resolved it. They repeatedly sent me incorrect links intended for vendors, closed my case by mistake, and did not take responsibility even after multiple follow-ups. I filed the issue with the Attorney General twice because LawnStarter did not address the damage or provide a reimbursement. Still no resolution.

I highly recommend LawnStarter for their timely communication and outstanding service. From start to finish, they were professional, prompt, and attentive to every detail. My front and backyard lawns have never looked better—the grass is evenly cut, and the edging is absolutely perfect, giving everything a crisp, clean finish.
What sets them apart is their attention to the finer details. Not only did they complete the job efficiently, but they also ensured every corner and edge was neatly trimmed, leaving my yard looking pristine. Their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction is evident in their work, making them my go-to lawn care service. -
Easy to set-up and schedule, but awful performance. They make it a simple process to get signed-up, but trap you with the 3 service minimum even with issues. As an out-ot-town property owner, I scheduled LawnStarter to mow the yard while my property was vacant (3 weeks). In the 3 weeks, they mowed 1 time, but charged me for all 3 services. When I went to the property after the 2nd service to check on the house, it was obvious that they hadn't been there. When I reached out to advidse them that the crew didn't show and I wanted to cancel, they offered a $15 credit which is less than half of what I was charged for the service that didn't even occur. What kind of resolution is that? And to make matters worse, they had cut the turf WAY too short the previous week (service 1) and the yard had been burnt by the sun (only yard on the block to be browned, so it wasn't from a lack of water). I even provided clear information to leave the yard left tall (rather than cut short) in their 'Message My Crew' feature, but either they didn't read it or even care. I'm aware that these crews are contractors, but it's clear they (LawnStarter) have ZERO control, guidance, involvement, etc. over their selected contractors. Yes. I should've just found someone locally and mailed an old school check, but I was looking for something seamless and easy. Lesson-learned. Without this being said, I WOULD NOT recommend LawnStarter to anyone or for anything. Sidenote: their 'Support' is slow to respond and not very helpful.

Used the for a while, but then they sent a bad crew out that botched the job for months. It culminated in them damaging one of my trees, and then the official response from LawnStarter was 'he said it was like that when he got there'... Really?
If you get lucky and get a good crew that's fine, but they basically don't supervise their people. I sent the pics below to them, and they don't care. -
Really detail orientated weeding in my flower beds …. And expert edging and mowing with a very detailed blow off …

Hired them to do my yard and shrubs. First company came out. They marked a job complete when it wasn't. Then came back to finish. But then ghosted. So lawn starter sent out another company.
New company scalped my yard in the middle of summer in Texas. They then left the lawn clippings on my patio out back (didn't even bother blowing it into the yard). Also trimmed my shrubs but left the trimmings on the shrubs and in my flower bed. So the clippings browned and made my already scalped yard look worse.
I notified customer service to try to get a refund or at least a partial refund. They gave me the ring around and had me open tickets with different claims. But wouldn't give even a partial refund.
Service was way over priced for really bad service. Will never use them again. -
Bobby’s great- trustworthy, and communicative. Everything looks lovely and fresh after he’s come by and, I can’t find a thing I’d change. I appreciate him taking excellent care of us!

LawnStarter is a great service and very easy to use! It is great getting quality lawn cuts from mowing pros. Thanks!

This was my first time trying this company. Wanted to try something new, things weren’t looking too good anymore with my yard. My guy was AMAZING! I lived here 5 years, I thought I was happy in the past, until yesterday. My yard look GREAT! Give him a try, he knows what he’s doing!

The last two times I scheduled to have someone out, they never showed up. Each time I inquired about when they’d arrive because nobody had shown up, their customer service apologized and reassigned me to someone else, which prolonged the process and did not lead to me getting service. I will be cancelling and going through someone local. I also believe that they are using a riding mower over the top of my sprinkler system, which is not preferable.

This has been a disappointing experience. The grass has only be cut one time and it was suppose to be a weekly thing. I also signed up for the fertilizer and weed treatment and my yard does not look as good as it should. Hopefully, things will improve or I will be finding someone else to to these jobs.

Daniel did a great job! I’m super glad he was the one assigned to work on my yard. This is my first time ever scheduling a service to get my lawn mowed. The process was super easy and everything was communicated! I ended up getting a subscription because im super glad to finally see my lawn be clean enough for me and my family to spend more time outside.

Horrible communication and outright shady service.
First service was scheduled for Oct 12 — nobody showed up, and I received zero communication. I was only told after business hours that the provider’s “lawn mower broke.”
I asked to cancel immediately, but they insisted on giving them another chance — I reluctantly agreed.
They assigned a new provider for Oct 20.
Again, absolutely no show. No message. Nothing.
Now I’m trying to cancel the subscription, but they intentionally make it difficult — there is no way to cancel in the app, and their “customer support” is basically an unhelpful chatbot loop.
At this point it feels predatory. Terrible experience — would not recommend to anyone. -
Didn't provide service. Charged $51.99
Customer service then claimed, "... it's been me than 5 days... we can't refund..."
Poor follow-up.
Said they, "...investigated."
No edging, no blowing grass clippings, (there were no clippings, since no service was done).
No service was performed, yet I'm having to go through my bank to get to get my money returned. -
Do not use LawnStarter.
They contract third-party providers, and my experience was a complete mess from start to finish. I originally scheduled a leaf removal service, and the first crew they sent out showed up without notifying me while I wasn’t home and weed-whacked my entire yard, removing plants I did not want touched and didn’t even remove leaves! I contacted LawnStarter, and while they apologized and refunded me, they offered to send out a different company to complete the leaf removal as a courtesy.
Unfortunately, the second company also didn’t notify me, showed up at 7:30 p.m., only completed a portion of my front yard, didn’t touch the backyard, left bags of leaves piled in my driveway and I was charged for it. I called LawnStarter again, and they told me the company would return to finish the job… they never showed up.
I had to call a third time, and despite everything, LawnStarter initially refused to refund me for the incomplete job that was supposed to be complimentary in the first place.
Bottom line: The communication was terrible, the quality of service was poor, and the accountability was nonexistent. Avoid LawnStarter at all costs.
UPDATE: they processed the refund incorrectly LOL so I had to call back, was on hold for 30 minutes, talked to 2 different people for them to actually refund me the full amount. Ridiculous. -
Scam company. Signed up for bi-weekly service. Scheduled service date was 5/5. The grass cutter rescheduled me for seven days later on 5/12 due to light rain on 5/5. That allows them to let the grass grow and charge double for long grass. I called customer service and rescheduled for 5/9. The grass cutter never showed up on 5/9 and never reached out. I called customer service and they said it was never rescheduled. I have a confirmation message for the reschedule. I canceled the service, despite them making very difficult to do. Pics show the cleanup I ordered not complete after the service date/grass not cut after service date and confirmation email confirming service date they later denied.

My lawn is absolutely ruined and the support team has left me hanging. I had a lush green yard that needed maybe 3 inches cut. This dude cut my yard down to the roots. In July... in Texas. Then, guess what... he left it half way finished!!! Said he'd be back either tomorrow or the day after. I want to vomit. This is absolutely worst case scenario. I filed a complaint and a damage report which they're supposed to fix. I talked to 3 people and sent emails, was on the phone for 30 minutes, and they are supposed to fix things. If they do, cool. I'll delete this review just because they made things right. But my yard is now the worst in the entire neighborhood. Thanks for nothing, Lawn Starter!! Make it right!!
Update: The lawn guy is back after I explicitly asked for him not to return. He blamed this yard destruction on an equipment failure and is arguing with me that the grass will grow back. The lady on the phone just kept taking over me and said that he was sent back out because he requested to return and finish. I the CUSTOMER requested him NOT to return!! Lawn Starter could not have handled this any worse.
Further Update: The lawn REPAIR guy was supposedly sent. According to him, he was only coming to mow! There's no grass left!! I told him how the original lawn guy came out and finished cutting down my remaining healthy grass. He said, "Oh, I thought I was only coming to mow. I didn't know about yard repair". So I'm stuck. I tried contacting the resolution department and they quit returning my emails. Bottom line, don't use lawn starter if you value your property. Maybe I'll check if there's legal recourse. Ayah did not even attempt to help me and representative Krish has not returned my emails. I'm done. -
I used LawnStarter after two different Lawn Service professionals weren't able to get to my lawn in a timely manner or were going to charge me $100 because they said my lawn was overgrown (it was a lot more than I was willing to pay, and even though my lawn was overgrown - before and after pictures provided - it hadn't been when I called then two weeks earlier).
LawnStarter was able to resolve both issues. They got me in contact with Franklin who was extremely easy to communicate with and was able to get two my yard only two days after I booked him. Furthermore, Franklin edged my yard and brushed away the lawn clippings for free, something that other lawn services won't do, or charge me extra when asked. LawnStarter did charge me a bit more because if the length of my grass, but it was still cheaper than what I was willing to pay.
The only negative I can think of is that LawnStarter sort of locks you into a biweekly or weekly contract, but I've observed that one can pause the service - helpful if funds are limited sometimes.
Will use again, and I hope I get Franklin again! -
Contract with an individual and pay after the service is completed. They quoted me $361 for a long grass yard and bush trimming. I agreed because I needed it done and assumed for that amount of money the job would be thorough and complete. The yard was left a mess with long spots, unfinished weeding and edging, and the bushes I specifically requested trimmed were barely touched, even after I spoke directly with the service provider and showed him how I wanted it done. Clippings were not blown off of hard surfaces and were left all over cars parked on my street. Overall a terrible yard job. I disputed it with Lawnstarter's customer support who then pushed it back to the provider to return and fix the issues. The provider never returned, marked the job complete and when I told customer service they shrugged and told me to give him another day. He still didn't return and within 24 hours I was charged the full amount.
