My experience with Green Knight was seamless. I wanted to use a company that exclusively installed metal roofs and had some longevity in the business. Green Knight had a high percentage of very positive reviews from multiple sites so they were the first company I called and felt no need to continue my search. Sales team member Brett was very informative, answered all my questions and was able to give me a great recommendation of color choice for the roof. I appreciated that I did not have the high pressure salesman experience. He was able to give me some accurate timelines on the start to finish of the project.
Installation was very smooth. I had a hard working very skilled crew who not only focused on installing but on the abundant debris removal.
Ryan the project manager did a post installation walk through with me and addressed some small issues in a very timely thorough manner. Green Knight customer service definitely gets an A+.

We started our residential project and began work in the winter with Green Knight.

The project didn’t get off to a great start, we had challenges in many areas including the weather, our stone siding, aesthetics and some of the labor provided as well.

After working with the owner and Steve(who is a highly skilled roofer) we were able to devise a plan for success, Steve and his team spent countless days/hours with our family to make sure to update us on every step and to ensure the roof came out exactly how we wanted it.

Steve was highly communicative with a customer first attitude and had a high standard of quality. He was also very direct, no sugar coating(which I appreciated). If we were not happy they would perform the task again until we reached perfection.

After hard work on both sides we have a wonderfully finished product, a roof that many of our neighbors have complimented and is aesthetically significantly more pleasing than our prior Presidential shingles. We are happy with the high quality product and finish we received from Green Knight.

Our experience with Green Knight was nothing but positive, beginning with our initial salesman, Brett, to the finished product. Ours was a relatively large roof (almost 8,000 sq feet) with lots of angles, skylights, etc.

It rained shortly after demolition of the old roof began.. we had leakage inside the house in several places.. within minutes it seemed, Joel, the onsite supervisor was on the premises with 3 helpers up in the attic, while the roofers were up on the roof, in the rain, getting tarps over the exposed areas. There was a bit of ceiling discoloration afterward, but they quickly sent drywall and paint guys who did a very professional job of restoring everything back to normal.

Once the job was complete, the crew spent a good half day making sure every nail and metal scrap was picked up and discarded.

It was a long (almost 4 weeks) and anxious process, but Joel, Ishmael, and the crew were right on the job to remedy the numerous things that went wrong. This was likely the job from hell for this crew, but they persevered and the end result is a beautiful, natural finish roof that exudes quality and craftsmanship.

We're confident we couldn't have chosen a better roofing company, and highly recommend to anyone considering a metal roof. Apparently metal roofs is the only thing they do, and they clearly have the entire process, including customer communication, down to a science!

8 months in with our beautiful metal roof. We have survived 2 days of 50 MPH winds closely followed by 10” of rain in 2 days! Thanks to Green Knight for a job well done!

Green Knight was able to roof our new home. We had a modern build with an odd shaped roof. It took a few times, but they listened to our aesthetic requests and finished the roof to our liking.
Their professionalism is why they get 5 stars from us.

This rating for me was because the project was “good”. I was placated enough to sign off on the final approval.

This was partially because after 2-3 weeks from materials being dropped off to the final time the crew came by, I was tired of dealing with it.

I didn’t know what to expect going into this as a new homeowner but wasn’t impressed. Not only was every single date I was told by my project manager wrong (yes every. Single. Date) and only 1 time did the project manager message me to tell me that timelines had changed.

I spoke up to my sales consultant after a few days went by after I was told the crew would arrive to begin the project, and Green Knight promptly sent a crew of 2 people over the next day to begin the project.

I have never heard of a crew of 2 people for a roof, and while working from home full time, it wasn’t the most pleasant experience to drag this out so long. On top of this, I have a dog who enjoys the yard. Crew frequently left the gate open after leaving for the day, occasionally left food scraps and trash in the yard that my dog found his way into as well.

When the crew had taken off the shingles, they did not completely remove the original tar paper underlay, but instead stapled the new synthetic underlay on top. My project manager told me this was normal - but that isn’t what I expected. For a roof that is supposed to last 50 years, it seemed like corners were being cut unnecessarily.

My project manager only visited the job site 3 times, once before the project began, once one day for a 5 minute walk around (without touching base with me) and then after the crew had finished for a final walk through.

I’m not interested in managing the project myself, and when my one point of contact is completely absent, it’s not giving me confidence.

Make sure you have open soffit vents because while I’m happy that my gabel vents were closed (for thermal efficiency) my soffit vents were clogged up before the project started. My sales consultant told me the crew would make sure they were open, but at the final walk through my pm told me I could clear them out myself. I was able to open them up myself, but I didn’t anticipate having to finish the job myself. If I didn’t have intimate knowledge of my vents going into this, the resulting product would have been a completely sealed attic, rendering my ridge vent useless.

The crew cleaned up nails and trash very well at the end, and overall I’m happy with the final product. However, for the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought with cash in my life, I was not impressed with the process. I’m thankful that Green Knight was able to do this project for me during such a huge demand of roofing in the area, but unfortunately this high demand may have caused the customer service side to suffer.

2024 Review:
Very happy with Green Knight and their workmanship - my roof looks incredible! This is my 2nd time to use Green Knight to install a metal roof on my home – each time they get the job done right and the roof looks great! A severe hailstorm in the Mueller neighborhood, Austin, TX (baseball size) totaled my first metal roof. Neighbors always ask who installed my metal roof because the galvanized metal is clearly visible from all sides of my one-story home. It has become a showcase of how nice a home can look paired with a metal roof. If you have any expectations, questions communicate with the sales rep or supervisor on your job; they will do what they can to work with you. I also recommend you stay actively involved with your install so you can be proactive with any questions you might. At the end of the day, Green Knight is very reputable and I am happy that I again partnered with them. (Mueller Neighborhood)

2022 Review: The 5 star rating comes with caveats. #1 stay actively engaged with your crew. There was an initial lack of communication about all the style options available to me i.e. (ridge caps and finishing trim) during the sales process - but once I got engaged with the crew and during the 'walk through' before the work began, there was common agreement on the craftsmanship details and everyone was quite responsive. (I opted for a low profile cap ridge look) The crew was fast, efficient, and respectful of my requests for certain finishing details.Those finishing touches on the metal roof (ridge caps and curb appeal features) were most important to me so I drove around town and took pictures of metal roofs I liked and they replicated the details. They cleaned the work area every day and that was fantastic. I hope they begin to build a portfolio of roofs they have done so you are most informed up front. #2 If you don't like a detail or have concerns speak up with the crew while the work is happening and they will make it right. #3 Their referral program is disappointing - you are told there is a $50 gift card for all referrals you make but it is not really a gift card - it is a $50 credit to select restaurants - a club membership and the $250 cash referral for those referrals who actually sign on is only for the new purchaser - not you. All in all, I got an incredible crew to work on my roof and their Director of Operations is the glue to everything positive that happened at my home. My home looks fabulous.

Best home investment EVER and the company, Green Knight metal roofing, out surpassed my expectations. our salesperson was detailed and knowledgeable. The job foreman was Johnny on the spot with answers to my questions on the installation. So thank you to Joel, Steven, Michael, Ryan, Ismael and the actual workers who put up such a beautiful roof. well done.

Green Knight recently replaced my aging asphalt shingle roof with Tek metal shingles. Both David (sales rep) and Steven (responsible for the actual roof installation) were consistently on time, and were very responsive to my questions in person and over text. The roofing crew showed up each day when they said they would, and worked hard throughout the project. They were respectful and considerate of where they parked and placed equipment, and went over the ground with magnets to ensure that no metal debris was left to get into paws or tires. The new roof looks great. I would definitely use them again if needed (although my new roof is likely to outlive me) and I recommend that anyone needing a new roof consider hiring them.

I have been doing business with Green Knight since 2021, when we decided to switch from asphalt shingles to a metal roof. Best decision ever. This year we decided to screen in our existing patio and I wanted my contractor to tie into the existing roof. So Steven Smith who is with Green Knight came to my home and removed the panels so that my contractor could do just that. With his expertise he coordinated the removal and reinstallation of the new roof . After that was done I had some extra panels left over. I was able to have my shed covered as well. We are extremely satisfied with the quality and workman ship that Green Knight has provided.

Learning that a hail storm had totaled our roof felt overwhelming. A recommendation to call GreenKnight Metal Roofing changed all of that. From owner to project consultants to amazing roofers, each employee made the entire process a stress-free experience. The quality of their products and wide selection options are phenomenal. GreenKnight’s expert installers and exceptional customer service team made the process simple and pleasant for us. We love our new roof!

Green Knight was great! We would definitely use them again. Michael, the sales rep, was helpful and knowledgeable about all the options! We had to wait several months for instillation due to supply chain issues, but our roof was worth the wait. The whole experience was great! Ismael, the contractor, texted me daily updates and photos of the progress. After the instillation I noticed the leaf guards were not reinstalled, and they came out quickly to fix the issue. We love our new metal roof, and have had lots of compliments from friends and neighbors.

We decided to replace a traditional asphalt roof with a metal roof as part of installing a whole house water catchment system to have the purest water possible. Joel Kenty, owner of Green Knight Metal Roofing, evaluated our roofing needs and provided us with an excellent choice for our new metal roof. We chose Green Knight over several other roofers based on quality of work and excellent reviews of previous jobs. We love the color and waffled look of our new metal roof. The dedicated, professional crew (not outsourced or temp workers but full time Green Knight crew)were systematic and efficient at removing our shingled roof and installing the metal roof which took a little under 10 days. Joel checked on progress of work almost every day and kept us informed of every detail. We highly recommend Joel Kenty and Green Knight Metal Roofing.

Working with Karl was absolutely fantastic! I don’t usually leave reviews, but I wanted to share my experience in case it helps anyone, like me, who needs a roof inspection or gutter installation. I recently moved into a new home and had Karl inspect the roof. Some roof tiles were damaged, and the gutters weren’t properly installed—enough to worry me about leaks. Karl inspected everything professionally, provided detailed photos, and communicated diligently with both the builder and their roofer.

Ultimately, the roof was fully repaired before move-in. I also had Karl handle the gutter installation to ensure the entire house had gutters installed correctly. His team did a meticulous job, shared photos of their work, and even double-checked that everything on the roof was completely repaired and in perfect condition.

Karl is responsible, highly knowledgeable, and truly professional—I highly recommend him for any roof inspection or repairs.

Our first encounter with Karl Larson and Balcones Roofing was an emergency during the 2021 winter ice storm. We woke up one morning to find water dripping through the ceiling of our half bath. After several calls to local roofers, I luckily chanced upon Karl. He arrived at our home within an hour in spite of the iced over roads. He proceeded to climb onto our roof to clear a large area of ice that was slowly melting. He then cleared the ice dam that had formed in the gutter to allow the melt water to flow away from rather than under the roof tiles. Our second call to Balcones Roofing was this morning when we realized that strong wind gusts had pulled one of our downspouts down. Again Karl came personally and was here within a very short time. He quickly remounted the downspout and the repair was more solid than the original installation. Karl responds quickly and does great work at very reasonable prices. We highly recommend Balcones Roofing.

Karl and his team are amazing. From initial contact to determining whether I needed a roof replacement, to his team, the materials and warranty - everything was top notch. Every step of the process was friendly and informative. I am super happy I chose Balcones roofing and am in love with the quality of the installation and the beauty of the final result.

The crew came to the house quickly and did a great job at a fair price. Highly recommended.
