Gene came out today to look over our AC unit and was just superb. Super knowledgeable, super friendly, had a ton of great suggestions but wasn't pushy. Centex has been a great air conditioning maintenance company but Gene was above and beyond with regards to customer service.

Great job diagnosing situation repairing and apart they had previous repaired

I have a rental property and have 2 elderly tenants in there, so when the AC stopped working, I called after hours. The only person who could come out was Centex Air and Heat and they charged $195 for a service call. It was just a blower motor unit inside the home, but he didn't have the part. He said it would be $1533 to replace it, but when the fan he had didn't work, he said it would be cheaper as the fan required didn't talk to the thermostat. I got the bill and it was $1533, which they said was a 'band aid' repair. Unlike Parobek, they don't waive the service call if they do the work, so I paid a total of $1728 to do a 'band aid' repair on a blower motor with a 30 day warranty. I called on this and asked why the price didn't go down and they said the employee no longer worked there so they couldn't check the pricing. I have used Parobek in the past, and they don't charge a service fee if they do the work, and they were MUCH cheaper. The Centex employees were polite and they fixed the AC, but I will never use them again as the pricing just seems extreme. I called them and asked for an adjustment, and they just said that was the price.

This company is the absolute best. Isaac came quickly when our HVAC sprung a leak, and he talked us through our options with honesty and our best interest at heart. We chose to fully replace our 16-year-old system whose coil looked like Chernobyl.

The owner of the company came pronto and offered us recommendations for new equipment with plenty of financing options. We never once got that slimy salesman feel. He installed two portable AC units in our windows to keep us cool for the week wait until installation.

On installation day, we were told the guys would arrive around 8AM and be done around 1PM. Iban and Julian arrived precisely at 8 and were done exactly at 1. They were very friendly, polite, and both spoke English very well. They answered all of our questions and were cheerful as they worked--they clearly knew what they were doing and hooked everything up to our existing Nest thermostats and installed extra QUAD ionizing equipment like it was as easy as making Pop-Tarts.

Overall, we're extremely impressed with every part of Centex's business and so glad we chose them. Can't recommend them highly enough!

UPDATE: Within days after the install, the owner of the company, Gene, came out to inspect the system and ensure everything was done properly. It was!

Gene A. did an outstanding job repairing our AC system. In over 60 years of home ownership, we found him one of the most honest, concerned , and knowledgeable service persons that we have ever had work for us. Centex is a great company and Gene is one of the reasons that make them outstanding .

We were having some issues with the air conditioner and Travis came out very promptly on a Sunday to come save the day! He was great! Travis was very polite, very thorough and fixed the issue. Our house is cool again!

Travis arrived on time, worked efficiently, explained what he was doing, and gave a through and easy-to-understand summary at the end.

Emerson is a great tech. I appreciate his promptness, willingness to listen, and eye contact. Emerson explained what he is doing, why he is doing said task and what the possible reasons were for our issue. It was a great experience and CenTex has a won a new customer.

I've had a new system installed by Centex years ago at another property and everything was great. Their biannual maintenance service is also really good, most recently done by Travis P and service and communication was excellent. Compared to other places Ive had maintenance service with, the customer service is top notch. Highly recommend.
