Twice now, my husband and I have callled this company on a Friday evening (our AC likes to break on Fridays), and they have come right out, even after dark, to troubleshoot and fix the problem. First time, the motor was broken, but under warranty and Dr. HVAC had the new one back and installed asap. Second time was a minor issue, flooding in the line, and they fixed it quickly and took the time to explain the problem so that we can avoid a repeat of the same next summer. They are very responsive, friendly and honest. It's refreshing to call a company and talk directly to the owners, they know their stuff and care about the customer, and there is no runaround. I can't recommend them enough.

I had Richard out from DR to replace a 15 year old a/c unit in May. I can't speak highly enough about his honesty and work ethic. He was never late, always with solid estimates and hasn't been wrong diagnosing problems, encouraging me to target replace only bad stuff when other companies wanted me to spend thousands on a new system.

I figured I'd wait to make sure there weren't creeping problems before giving him a review. I won'tcall anyone else

This Texas heat can be brutal once it hits 90+ degrees and your AC unit goes out, you'll do just about anything to get it up and running again. Dr. HVAC sent out David (a technician with decades of experience and also a co-owner of the company) the SAME DAY to take a look at my unit. Boy, were we fortunate for such a quick and friendly response to our problem! I've also had the pleasure to speak with Richard, also a co-owner of the company.

While I dread the thought of my AC unit requiring service again, I look forward to the opportunity to work with Dr. HVAC Services again.

As bad luck would have it, we had our furnace quit during the storm of the century. A national company came out, diagnosed the problem and said it would require parts that are not readily available (20 yr. old system). They were happy to quote a whole new system for me but due to time and money, that didn’t seem like an option. Dave with DR HVAC came out (late on a Saturday) for a second opinion and confirmed the part was indeed bad but he was able to bypass it and get our heat going again. That was a lifesaver. Thanks Dave for your help in getting us going again. Your knowledge, honesty, and commitment are appreciated. It’s reassuring to know I now have a “go to” HVAC company that I can count on when needed.

Craig at DR HVAC is the absolute best. We are first time home owners and we had a leak, which another ac company said was the ac drain line that had a crack. The other AC company gave us a quote for $1500 and wasn't even sure if that would solve our leak problem! Craig came out and helped us diganosis that it wasn't the ac drain at all but was a plumbing issue and helped us find the leak. I even got a quote from Craig for the ac condensate line replacement and it was $1000 CHEAPER than the other company!! Craig is professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. He has won a customer for life and DR HVAC will be the only AC company I use in the future. If you're looking for the absolute best AC company in Austin, Cedar Park, + Leander Texas, DR HVAC is it.

Don is awesome! He installed our new system last year and either himself or one of his crew came out almost daily for almost a week to keep our old system working until the new one came in. I had an issue this year with the thermostat turning off (sensor was tripped because we didn’t maintain the drain line). Don helped me troubleshoot the issue and came out super promptly the next day for a maintenance call. He’s so kind and helpful! Thanks Don!

Richard came out same day of request. He quickly diagnosed the issue and was able to replace the bad part immediately. We haven’t had a lot done to our AC in 10 years and Richard helped us make some maintenance decisions to extend the life of our unit. So grateful for his patience, integrity and attention. to detail. Good guy and we will highly recommend him!

March 2019: We have a two story older home that only had one thermostat. We contacted several HVAC companies and most said that they couldn't do it or wanted to change us an arm and leg! Richard and David gave us a VERY fair estimate and explained how the whole process worked.
May 2020: Our AC wouldn't turn off and I emailed Richard and he was able to come out the next afternoon and take a look for me...DR HVAC is my go-to HVAC company and I will be referring them to my clients and friends!!!

Our AC unit was not working and of course it was when it was over 90 degrees. I called DR HVAC after work and Richard was able to come out first thing the next morning. He was prompt, professional and diagnosed the problem quickly! He called his parts distributor who had the sensor in stock(bonus) and was able to install it and get my AC unit working! I will definitely use them again. He gave me great price on parts and labor! Well below other quotes. Highly recommend DR HVAC!

Dr.HVAC is a 5 star organization. They are very responsive, knowledgeable and thorough. I called about an issue today and they were on site within 30 min. They did not quit until the problem was resolved. I am very grateful and have and would recommend them to my family and friends.

They replaced parts in our system and got us up and running while other companies just wanted to replace replace replace.

David came over on a Saturday within an hour. Found and fixed my heater issue (My house was freezing). Was a bad igniter. Gave me a great deal and was a pleasure to deal with. Will absolutely be using him again in the future!

Additional Update: My HVAC blower motor was on the fritz during an exceptionally hot August. Richard swung by the next day, and looking at my 22 year old, poorly maintained (by the previous homeowner) HVAC, suggested to replace the whole unit since at this point, it was throwing good money after bad.

He and his crew were out the very next day at 8am and I had a brand new Seer14 HVAC for a very fair price by 2pm that day. They also did work to run better insulation and wiring than the previous install. It looks top notch. Their techs are incredibly skilled and fast. Everything looks very professionally installed. They also brought my gas lines nearby up to code.

Highly, highly recommend these guys!

I first called Dr HVAC when my ac was out everyone said 1-2 days. David and Richard came out and fixed my unit. They were at the house until about 11:00pm and cooled us down. This was in the beginning of their business years ago. As they have grown their business they still offer the same quality and professional service that I have grown to trust.

Not many businesses around with their integrity.

I tell them the three most important people in my life Dr HVAC, my well guy and my cardiologist.

After several years of dealing with AC/HEAT Specialists that could not fix my system I decided to try Richard and crew at DR HVAC Services. These guys are remarkable as my system is running the way it was designed to for the first time 10 plus years. Their prices are very competitve, and Richard takes the time to explain his work. If you are having AC/Heat issues, you owe it to yourself to contact these folks. You will be happy that you did.

I just can't say enough about how wonderful this company is. I called on a Saturday morning at 745am expecting a call back on Monday. By 830 am I had received a call back and had a technician scheduled to come to my house at 2 pm on a Saturday, the same day. This is my second time to use them. And I would highly recommend their services.

We have used them before with good results however we were ripped off this time. Our parts for the repairs were covered by the warranty so they could not make a profit on them. We were told the labor would be $160 per hour. We paid that for the initial visit.
When it was repaired the technician was there one hour and thirty minutes. We were charged $85 for processing the warranty and $752.50 for labor, which is $500 per hour ! When I questioned that and told them the average hourly labor in Austin was $150-175 hourly I was told they are a smaller company and we needed to help cover their rent, utilities, truck payments and gasoline. I disagreed and he said ‘it is what it is”
I guess that’s what happens when trying to support a smaller local business, from now on I will use a larger more customer oriented company.

We have been using Richard for 7+ years. I honestly do not know what we would have done without him sometimes. Richard is extremely knowledgeable and exceptionally thorough and diligent. This combination makes for a very keen eye. Not only is his work impeccable, but so is his character. I know for a fact that Richard has done more for less for people who needed the help. This is why I have had him work not only on my own home but my family’s homes. From refrigerant recharges to complete replacement, there is no other HVAC professional that I will ever use. Richard was kind enough to come out in the evening on a weekend when our AC stopped cooling. We had many issues with the previous company that we used, so I was so grateful to find a company that is honest, affordable, and reliable. Lightning strike extremely close to your house and knock everything, including that must have air conditioning? Yes, that was me. I come home from work and it's blazing hot inside. I called DR HVAC. Richard was awesome, he went up to the attic, listened to the unit and knew what was the problem. A fried board. He left to get the parts, came back, fixed it and I have AC again. We used DR HVAC to fully replace our very old system in our little old house, moving the unit into our attic space.
Our job was definitely not easy or straightforward, which meant there were a couple lingering issues after the initial install. But Richard, one of the owners, was always extremely proactive and receptive to our issues when they were brought to his attention.
