American Home Shield sent R Harris to look at our AC system when we reported the downstairs half was running but not cooling in our house we just bought. We were happy their team showed up early for the time slot since it was the peak of the 100+ weather. They first checked our compressors outside to make sure those worked fine, then quickly diagnosed that our downstairs evaporator coil was what had gone bad. Per AHS rules, they had to submit the diagnosis and wait for them to process, but before leaving, they turned off the downstairs compressor at the disconnect switch so that it wouldn’t continue to waste energy and wear while AHS assessed the work and costs. There was a snag with submitting to AHS, but R Harris quickly got that resolved. Of course with any Home Warranty company, AHS nitpicked at every line item and claimed exceptions where they could as “not covered”. AHS actually doesn’t give the break down, just the amount they don’t cover. R Harris actually disclosed all of that to us when AHS notified of their decision which we really appreciated. They then helped us out by working out an upgrade for an American Standard coil instead of AHS provided Goodman coil to go with our other components the previous homeowners had put in. We felt this was definitely worth it as American Standard is all around a better brand. Goodman isn’t rated the worst, but it’s nothing to write home about when you research brands. We were able to get scheduled with R Harris again for the install quickly. The install team was great. They laid out drop cloths to protect the floors in a path to the attic, and they were super careful around the walls. Our upstairs walkway is kind of tight, so I expected some marks, but not a dot on our freshly painted walls and trims! They worked quickly to get out the bad compressor and install the new one. At the end they explained how to register the component so we could get the 10 year warranty. That first blast of cool air from the downstairs vents after the repair was the best relief!

-5 Stars. I've never been so disappointed. Came out 5 times and never found the problem, so they wanted to replace the whole system. I called Milton Frank, they found the problem the 1st time. System running great!

I used R Harris for some repairs through American Home Shield. From the very beginning they were extremely responsive, and even booked me for an appointment first thing Monday morning, after I reached out AHS on Friday afternoon. Their tech Larry came out, and diagnosed the problem. He answered all my questions and was very polite and knowledgeable. They came back a few days later and completed the repairs. They were very thorough, punctual, and even waited around to fit my schedule. After doing the repairs, they waited around to test everything before leaving. They even cleaned up the area, so no trash was left behind.
I would highly recommend this company. Their work and customer service is top notch. -
Larry was very knowledgeable, and professional. He fixed the problem within minutes, and he was also super nice and patient with my annoying dog :)
I would definitely recommend Larry and R Harris A/C & Heating to anyone. -
Caused problems on the inspection and selling of my house by detailing a need for Freon R22 when it was not needed according to the inspector.
I had actually informed the technician about the inspection. And the sell of the house. This was supposed to be a tuneup and while the old system was not in manufacturer specs it does cool sufficiently. I paid out of $200 to American Home Shield for this service which only caused problems. Definitely was not worth the trouble. He tuneup did not bring any value.
American Home Warranty sent another AC service agent who also said the Freon could not be added since it is not available. This was a significant waste of time and money as it only introduced problems that could not be resolved. I believe it was a scam to trick home owners to purchase a new system.
Live and learn. My complaint is more with American Home Shield than the actual vendor. Will not have another warranty on the new house and will never fall for a ‘tune-up’ scam again. Especially since the ‘tune-up’ did not resolve any issues they supposedly found. -
Want to say a big THANK YOU to my technician, Andrew. My system is extremely tricky and the high-dollar company I have been using continues to mess up. I've met with several technicians over the years and have to say I was finally impressed with my experience. Andrew was not only able to identify the cause of my issue (two other companies couldn't), he also noticed a way to correct what the last company did (without being judgmental) to increase duct space for more air to flow through the system. He was honest, not pushing any sales and very patient explaining everything to me (several times) so I could understand. Andrew is a great technician and R Harris A/C is lucky to have him on their team!! I will be switching over to R Harris A/C & Heat and will request that Andrew is my go-to technician. Happy to refer to my friends & coworkers, too. Thanks again, Andrew!

I was assigned this company through American Home Shield when I started a service request for my HVAC which stopped cooling.
I had first obtained a diagnostic from my own HVAC technician. Given the work that was needed, I decided to try using AHS as this warranty was supplied by sellers as we had just moved in 2 months ago.
Initial communication was exceptional, I had an appointment scheduled next day and the technician showed up on time.
The technicians that arrived left in less than 10 minutes and called me after they left. There was barely any diagnostic completed and told me they replaced the capacitor. I could not even ask questions on the phone. This was not the finding by my HVAC technician but I was still hopeful. Well my hope was short-lived as the HVAC did not cool at all the next several hours.
I initiated a re-call through AHS. Again communication for appointment was wonderful and this time the technician was much better. He used a fancy freon leak detector and stated there is a leak from the consendor coil. He suggest this part can take a while to come in and given my system is from 2015 it would be better to replace the system. Again, this was not the finding my technician had so I had to urge him to check the indoor unit. When he did he did find a leak in the evaporator coil (which is why my technician found).
I ended up taking a cash in lieu offer from AHS as I did not trust this company. I found a 3rd technician to perform a diagnostic and they found the same issue as the 1st technician and agreed R Harris was wrong. This person was able to fix the next day and my unit has been working well for 2+ weeks now.
TLDR: R Harris has excellent scheduling but the technicians are not very skilled nor detailed. Additionally I believe they tried to upsell me into replacing the whole system when it was able to be fixed for a reasonable price. -
R Harris was dispatched by our home warranty company. They were dispatched late on 08/11/24 and confirmed they could have a tech out by 09:00-13:00 on 08/12/24. Robb was very professional and explained everything in detail to my wife. The Unit was found to be working fine, but we wanted to have it double checked after it was overheating and not cooling the house. Appreciate all the help!

I called them for Drain Blockage and they told me that system is 5 pounds low on refrigerant and want to charge me $400 . I told them not to touch my System Open just open the Drain . These guys are Fraud
-
Over quote the amount. Things available less than $100 they are charging $699. Be careful.

Luis came out for a diagnosis on 2/28, replaced the capacitor, and attempted a refrigerant pressure check to finish the work. The check never happened and when I called their main line the guy on the phone tried to upsell me refrigerant for no apparent reason. Just weird.
Turns out there is a 60 days warranty on their service and guess what happens? Short of 90 days the ac stopped working again. -
Honest, Professional, Reliable and Fast. Job well done in about an hour A/C working like new. Couldn't be more satisfied with his Excellent service. Thank you Robert for your hard Professional work in 92° degree temperature.

I was connected with R Harris through my home warranty company. They were very punctual and stayed in contact with the warranty company through their process to prevent any unnecessary delays. Once approved they were out the next day and repaired the system.
-
Highly unprofessional behavior and they are affiliated with American home shield … my ac was not cooling, it took them 36 hours to come fix the ac and what happened to ac was it was low on Freon, I pay every month 50 plus to American home shield, $125 every time I have a breakdown and this company is charging me $400 for Freon that my warranty only covers $10 /lb ! And it’s been 36 hours have no ac !

I couldn’t be more satisfied with the A/C repair service I received from R Harris A/C & Heating. Robert Harris, the technician, was absolutely excellent—professional, knowledgeable, and extremely thorough. He arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the issue, and clearly explained what needed to be done before getting to work.
What impressed me most was Robert’s attention to detail and genuine care in making sure everything was working perfectly before he left. My A/C is now running like new, and the entire experience was smooth and stress-free.
If you’re looking for reliable, honest, and high-quality HVAC service, I highly recommend R Harris A/C & Heating. Robert Harris truly went above and beyond!

I’m so glad my home warranty company sent out R. Harris AC! I’ve had other companies come out before who were rude or clearly had their own agendas, so I was nervous — but this experience was completely different.
The technician from R. Harris AC showed up during an incredibly hectic time for my family. My husband had just left town for an emergency, I was home juggling live webinars for work, and things felt chaotic. Despite all of that, the technician was so kind, respectful, and professional. He worked quickly, explained what he was doing, and reassured me that everything was okay with the system.
Even though it was a stressful day for me, he made the process feel smooth and easy. I can see why this company has such great reviews. Honestly, I would call R. Harris AC directly — even outside of my home warranty — because of how trustworthy and professional they were. Highly recommend! -
This company was chosen by my warranty company American Home Shield and I did not have a good experience. They did have a good response time however, they never answer the phone, they only communicate via text. On the day that they visited, my AC was not receiving power. They said that my thermostat was not sending a signal so they replaced the thermostat (which was only 6 months old). When he left, I noticed that the AC would turn on and off every 20 seconds and I had to deal with that for the next 24 hours until the next visit. Why didn't he test it or make sure that it was functioning properly before he left? I called at least 5 times but never received an answer. I had to comfort my 18 months old throughout the night due to them not properly fixing the issue. The following day during a visit, they said that they fixed the on and off issue (never explained what caused it) with the AC and that they would have to order a part and visit another day. He left yet the system would still turn on and off every 20 seconds. I text their team letting them know that my system was still malfunctioning. They returned later that afternoon and finally fixed the issue and replaced the circuit board. Also, even though I have a warranty they offered to fill up my AC with Freon which I agreed however, I forgot that I had freon added in November 2024. I paid $240 (via Zelle) out of pocket for nothing. I absolutely feel that was an unnecessary charge. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The lack of communication and lack of efficient service was not worth the hassel.

I was assigned this company by American home shield to come out and do a simple heating system tune up. The technician that came out turned both of my digital thermostats on for the upstairs and downstairs unit, went up into the attic spent about 3 minutes up there, close the attic and came back down saying neither of the heating units responded and I would have to call American home shield to have someone come out and fix those items. I called American home shield they sent out another company the next day that came out and said both of the systems were working fine but the tech from R Harris AC and heating must not have understood the technology of the heating unit and didn't wait long enough for them to come on. So I basically wasted $100 service fee for a simple tune-up that should have been complimentary. I called and left several messages with R Harris and never received a response. Stay away from this company.

They came out to look at my ac through ahs. They did a great job of finding the ac Freon leak. The ac component was not available anymore to be replaced. They replaced my ac unit at a great rate. They do a great job and are straight forward about what you need.
