Purchased home Aug 2017. A/C started acting up soon there after. Contacted The Home Insurance company enclosed with the sale of the house. They sent their contractor of course. They told me that Insurance company was never going to replace my 20 year old HVAC and that I was going to throw away $1K worth of repairs the insurance didn't cover. I'm glad they were honest with me. They offer me a new heat pump and the parts needs for the air handler for $4,800. I then contacted Decatur Heat and Air for they were highly recommended by friends of mine in Decatur. They arrived at 0630Hrs and by 1030Hrs they were gone and I was left with a Top of the line brand new HVAC system all brand new out the box handler, pump, thermostat, etc. for $6,500 which made more sense and now I have a 10 year warranty on it plus if well maintained will last another 10 years after that. The crew was very friendly and professional. They came and wasted no time and even cleaned up after themselves which is more that I can say about other contractors. UPDATE today 09Sep2019 HVAC Tech Curtis J. arrived right on scheduled bright eyed bushy tail ready to help me out. In no time did he figured out what was wrong with my HVAC unit and also provided additional equipment at an affordable price to prevent future break downs on my unit. Affordable service, great troubleshooting and in no time he was done and out the door and my A/C unit was back in service. Another reason for me to stick with Decatur Heat & Air. I would definitely use this business again! What an awesome experience. I called because our AC was not cooling the house, the tech was at our house within 15 minutes and resolve the issue in less than an hour.

Excellent, fast, professional service. Repaired my AC and installed new thermostat. Great communication. Emergency after hours service was well worth it in this TX heat - prices were still reasonable. Highly recommend!

We used DH&A for our 850 sq ft barndo. They were quick and easy on installation and set up (price was high but to be expected for good quality which we didn’t get). We had issue after issue with the unit as soon as we moved in. They did come out EVERY time and tried everything to get fixed from replacing condenser and the entire unit. Which I am very grateful for and the only reason why they don’t get a 1 star.

Josh, the tech is awesome. The only reason why it has taken me so long to leave a bad review. He always makes us feel like we aren’t crazy for having such a bad unit.

Anyways, they had to cut a huge hole in our ceiling to get the new unit in there. We are almost 3 months after replacement and the hole still is not fixed after multiple attempts to get this scheduled. I talk to Pam and then it never gets to the right person. We moved in may 2022 and it’s October 2022 and our issues still aren’t resolved. It’s not my job to keep calling in the same issue on getting resolved. I think we have been very patient with this and now it’s out of hand. Just tried calling 3 times and can’t get anyone to answer the phone. If we can get the little things fixed, we would consider changing our review of DH&A.

***I have chaged my review. DH&A came out and addressed my concerns and the AC has kept up throughout the hot and the furnace for the cold months.*** i still think the office needs to communicate better which is why this is still a 4 star

We couldn't BE more pleased! Our A/C was fried by the latest Texas storm in May. We called them on Wednesday, 5/14/25 and we had a new system installed the following Thursday, 5/22/25. In less than a week, they sent out a rep, gave us quotes, scheduled our install and completed the job early. They did everything they said and more. They worked around some challenges at our place. A canopy of trees on our private road led them to bringing the equipment out on a smaller work truck versus the larger or enclosed trailers (thank you, Josh!) Everyone treated us with courtesy and respect. We received status texts with notes about each of the techs that would be coming out. They were personable while remaining professional. A three-man crew installed our system - they were diligent and did a great job on cleanup. Thank you so much to Gigi, Emily, Brandi, Josh, Jake and Brett. We love the quiet of the system and
the air quality. If you choose these folks for service or installation, you will be more than satisfied.

I formally canceled my yearly subscription with Decatur Heat and Air in August, yet I have been continuously charged monthly and have not received a refund. Despite multiple assurances from your office staff that the refund would be processed
Furthermore, I have serious concerns regarding maintenance performed on my AC unit over the past several years. Subsequent quotes from other companies indicate that parts I was charged for were never actually installed due to the unit not using them, despite your technicians claiming they did.

This company came highly recommended so I decided to give them a call when our A/C started acting up. At this point, I wish I hadn't. We had freon put in our A/C Sunday night and then it started acting weird. We called Decatur Heat and Air and they came out the next day to see what the problem was. According to the technician that came out, our system had a really bad freon leak and had virtually no freon in the system (he said all the freon that was put in the previous night had leaked out) and we were advised to not run it as it could potentially damage the rest of the system. They were supposed to get me a quote for a new condenser coil and a new condenser. I waited for almost 48 hours since he had come out and still had not gotten a quote. I asked another company to come take a look at it so I could get a second opinion and maybe they could repair it faster (it's 95 degrees in my house at this point). That company came out and told me that the only issue with the system was that it had too much freon in it. There was no leak. This company released some of the freon and now the system runs great. I'm not sure if our technician didn't hook gauges up correctly or what happened but I will not be calling this company again.
