Have been a long time strickland customer. I used to admire their honest service calls and have recomended them to several family members and neighbors over the years. As members, we would get semi-annual service check ups, the last one being in May of 2025. In December of 2025, we noticed our ceiling right below our unit began to leak. We called strickland as this was a HVAC related leak coming out of the drip pan they installed a few years prior. One of their service members came out and stated that the drain pipes were cleared and that the leak is happening because the unit pendulum was strapped in horizontally and was slowly sinking down and crushing the drip pan. This was a complete lie as the pendulum is very clearly strapped vertically to the attic ceiling and is nowhere near "crushing" the pan they had installed. The leak stopped while they were there as AC was not running during this time. The tech that came out sat me and my wife down and wasted an hour of our time trying to pitch us getting a whole new unit as they could not pinpoint what the exact issue was. We obviously got a second opinion and it turned out that our drain pipes were clogged (creating water back up) and the drip pan strickland installed was not leveled causing any excess water to easily leak out of the side. In addition, there were no gaskets or sealant installed on this drip pan where the piping exit cutouts were located making it much easier for excess water to leak out of the pan. Stricklands failure to properly install a drip pan at level and identify that water was backed up in the unit and not flowing through the drain pipes has caused serious damage to our ceiling. Strickland does not take any responsibility for this. As a matter of fact they get very defensive whenever a complaint is brought up. We've had good experiences with them in the past and a couple questionable experiences but this has sealed the deal.

I had what started out as a not-great experience, but when the owner, Mike Ratterree found out about it, he jumped in with both feet to go above and beyond to make things better than right. He showed exceptional integrity, and I would gladly trust this business the next time I have a need.

I'd used Ratterree for years, on a referral from a former boss. The work appeared to have been done in an honest manner-and generally for reasonable and customary rates, except for one time during summer where they gouged me for a fan. Having said that, they have spring "tune up" specials that they send out that include a few services-including some freon with the offer. I scheduled one. Tech shows up, advised me my freon is old-and not the type included in the offer. He didn't do any of the other items on the offer despite my mentioning the filters a few times and didn't do any drain service as I've had other companies do on a tune-up. Instead he goes out, tells me I'm probably 5-6 lbs low on freon, and...oh, by the way-it's $100 a lb from them. He also advises me now that I have to pay about 2x for the offer as i have two compressors. I called another provider and he tells me he can do it for 20-30% less. Problem: I can go with the other provider but now I still have to pay the ratterree guy $140 for stopping by, telling me they will roast me on price (at 13 times the purchase cost of the freon-13 TIMES the price!!). So I would save less at that point. In retrospect, I should have told Ratterree guy to leave and take my chances. I didn't, and had a MASSIVE bill for tune-up. Shame on you, Ratterree for becoming part of the low-life A/C rip-off providers. I'll never use you again, and have even considered starting my own A/C company to provide ethical and reasonable service.

Great customer service and super friendly techs. They came out new years Eve when we had a heater problem come up that day and a party that night. They got us all toasty again and recommended a fix for us to prevent future issues. Would recommend for sure.
