We have been working with Abacus for 15+ years; overall, they've been really good to work with (the bulk of the work is A/C). I am writing this review because their latest work was outstanding and fixed a bunch of issues.

We have Abacus check our a/c and heating systems twice a year - summer and winter. The estimate we got this summer proposed replacing our AC units , which was extremely unexpected and not cheap. We requested a more senior technician to explain why this was just coming up, and they sent Jason Finlay. He is very knowledgeable about airflow - which was really helpful as the air in the attic wasn't circulating correctly. Unfortunately, we ended needing an overhaul of our system - which was much more expensive than the original estimate! But we are more comfortable on how the system is working.

I appreciated that Jason was always available to answer any questions we had, including drawing diagrams of the work being done.

The teams Abacus sent out were always professional and very helpful. So, my thanks to Jason, Jose, Hector, Eric, Michael and Pablo (I'm sure that's not a complete list.)

I appreciate your email, but even before your technician checked what the problem was, he already showed a negative attitude toward fixing it. I have a question: do you have technicians, or do you send salespeople who pretend to be technicians instead of actually solving problems and look for excuses?

Yes, the system is old, but the air conditioning works perfectly. The problem was the heating. Instead of truly trying to fix it, he wanted to replace the entire unit and did not want to repair the actual issue.

Yesterday, another technician came and fixed it. He replaced the burner, which was cracked and was pulling in air. In the end, I will never recommend this company, and I will be sharing this experience publicly. It is unbelievable to pay someone who calls himself a technician and fixes nothing, just because the unit is old and supposedly leaking oil.

Yesterday they opened everything up, cleaned it, and now it looks good and is working properly. My heating is working again after paying $1,600.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Over charges for most of their services and may replace parts that may not need replacing. Was told that my main board needs replacing when they replaced it themselves within a year’s time. They once sent a technician who came to “fix” a heating issue and left after about an hour, said that everything is working now and that there was “no charge” which was strange to me because no one works for free. Come to find out the next day my system was not working correctly and they had to send a manager out to fix the problem. The system has never worked correctly since. So once again I called last month regarding a heating issue and was told that my Damper Actuator needed to be replaced for $1500 so I paid half up front for them to come back the next day and tell me all I need was to replace my thermostat; they didn’t replace it with a Lennox thermostat (Which is the brand of AC unit that I have) but an inexpensive $135 Honeywell that took the technician less than 30 mins to replace and charged me the entire $750 that I paid the day before. I understand installation costs money but $615 for 30 mins seems ridiculous! When I called the company to try and get some sort of reimbursement none of the managers returned my call. Only after attempting on the fourth call after a month or so did a manager tell me that the $750 price is what they charge to replace a thermostat. This seemed to me a classic bait and switch; the sad thing is that I’ve used this company in the past trusting them but who knows if I really needed all the things they recommended. It’s hard to find honest companies who hire honest employees who do good work these days. I will NEVER use ABACUS PLUMBING, AIR CONDITIONING & ELECTRICAL AGAIN.

The company’s so great. Everyone with whom we dealt was helpful and thoughtful. Their service is good and responsive. They will do their best!

I recently had some work done and was really impressed. The plumber was polite, professional throughout the entire process. He did a great job. Everything was done properly and with care. Highly recommended.

I'm very happy with the service received. The plumber Bar installed my new Cloud RO under-sink water filter system in the kitchen, including drilling on the countertop to installed a separate faucet. He was very professional and experienced. There were some complications with my garbage disposal and piping. He was able to figure out a solution, and also gave me some instructions regarding the valves and filter changing. The scheduling was quick and price was reasonable, comparing to a few other quotes I received. I recommend this plumbing company.

Fast, efficient, and friendly same-day service for a leaky toilet. Even walked me through how to prolong the new toilet seal’s life going forward.

Second time I used HTown Plumbers. They returned my call promptly and came to my house quickly. Sergey did a good job and resolved the dripping issue from my AC overflow pipe that AC company was not able to resolve.

First time using H-Town Plumbers. Sergey was there about an hour after I called and was very polite and professional. My replacement drain strainer was finished in about 30 minutes. Will use them again in the future.

Sergio was excellent! Fortunately, the response time was only 2 hours and he got here early. He was very courteous, knowledgeable and efficient! If you need a plumber, call them. Should I need any plumbing assistance in the future, I will!!

My hot water heater quit working. Being without hot water is miserable. Bar diagnosed the problem and fixed it quickly. Thank you!

Had to replace a leaking toilet tank, but because the water supply valve also failed, I had to close the water supply to the entire house at 10 PM. I opted to get a new toilet altogether, called HTown, who said they’d work me into their schedule the next day. In the early morning, I ordered a CR-recommended new model from Home Depot, which was delivered early afternoon. The HTown technician came out soon after, removed the old toilet, installed the new unit flawlessly, in 65 minutes start to finish. He was very polite, professional, neat, and knowledgeable. I would definitely use their services again.

Alex was great in arriving early and getting the job done quickly and effectively. He was also very friendly. I would not have been able to do the job myself!

Sergey was terrific! Very polite and professional. He laid down plenty of cloth to protect our floors in bathroom and hallway. Quickly discovered blockage issue under one of our 30 year old toilets, repaired it, and even checked the function of the other toilet on opposite side of the wall. Replaced the flapper and adjusted the floater for free! Reasonably priced and quickly done. Highly recommend H-Town Plumber!
