Wow! I wish I had been working with Abacus longer. I had a friend that has been recommending them for years and the need hadn’t been there. When my AC died first thing Monday (Labor Day) morning I decided to make the call. Angela answered and was so helpful. She made my emergency, last minute appointment over the phone and before I even hung up with her my service person was calling. Frank Robinson showed up to help me and thank you is not adequate! He figured out my problem, arranged for the additional needed items and even carried my HUGE ladder back to my garage. Frank called Isaac Salazar who came to address the second part of my problem. Between the two I was up and running in a couple of hours LAST MINUTE and on a HOLIDAY. I can’t be more thankful.

I have now had an additional consultation with Justin Wagner who is so kind and knowledgeable. I feel so confident that with this team on my side I am in good hands. I wish I had listened to my friend years ago…

The experience was fantastic! Same day scheduling within a few hours. The service tech/electrician was knowledgeable, concerned , and eager to get positive results. The purpose of calling was an issue with my breakers in the electrical box. The tech/electrician resolved the issue in a timely manner, ensured that power was restored - all with a smile. I highly recommend Abacus.

Abacus was fantastic to work with! They discussed options for our work beforehand, were able to complete the work that same week, and had clear communication throughout the process. The workers who came were really thorough and thoughtful of the final product look to make sure we were happy. They even went above and beyond to help install the lights! I would contract with them again in a heartbeat. Fantastic service and fantastic work!

I used Abacus AC to replace my electric panel in 2024 and Abacus Plumbing to replace my water heater in 2025 (combined over $15k in cost). Having had good service both times, I felt comfortable referring my 81 year old mother-in-law to Abacus when she had an electrical issue at her home in July 2025. A technician (Cole) came out and did an assessment. Cole told her the home's electric panel needed to be replaced due to fluctuating voltage on several breakers and that after checking several interior outlets, he found they were wired incorrectly (stabbed instead of wrapped). She was given written estimates from Cole ranging from $3,100 to over $9,200 to do repairs! After she relayed this to me, I called a family friend who is a licensed electrical testing technician, and he came over while Cole was still there. He asked Cole to show him which outlets were wired incorrectly, and upon inspecting them himself, found that they were actually wired properly and that the electric panel breakers were all showing consistent and correct voltage readings. My mother-in-law declined to have any work done by Abacus after learning she was lied to, but was still charged $199 for the service call. The actual issue was later found to be a faulty light switch, which after being replaced, corrected the problem she called Abacus about in the first place. Literally a $2 fix. I contacted Abacus several times to report this incident and requested that her service fee be refunded (since it was proven the technician outright lied to her). I was told someone from customer support would contact me back and that her money would likely be refunded. It has now been over 3 months and I have yet to get a call back and her money has never been returned. I would be hesitant to use Abacus again after this experience. I truly think the technician simply tried to take advantage of an elderly woman and had she not called me and just took him at his word, she would have been out a lot more money for unnecessary electrical work.

I recently hired Abacus plumbing to repair my water heater. The water heater was still under the manufacturer’s warranty and the manufacturer agreed to reimburse me the cost of parts procured by Abacus, if provided with an invoice showing part cost.
The work was completed and upon signing off on the work I received an email with my Abacus invoice. The invoice did not separate labor from parts, making the invoice useless for the purpose of seeking reimbursement from the manufacturer. Abacus refuses to provide an invoice showing separate labor and part cost, which is preventing me from recouping over $300.00 in part cost reimbursement from the manufacturer.
My recommendation is that you not hire Abacus Plumbing, due to the above.
Any company that would knowingly and willingly cause financial harm to a customer is not a reputable company.

Note: I did give Abacus opportunity to decide differently, before posting this, but Abacus chose not to respond.

Bob Connelly in Houston was very helpful. He looked at a water leak and noticed we had several other issues. He took care of everything each step of the way. He answered all of my questions and came by for a final inspection. Very friendly.

    Abacus (Houston, TX)
The technician was polite and professional, as always. My disappointment is with pricing. I was given the choice to proceed and approved the job because our kitchen drain urgently needed repair. Based on the explanation, the scope sounded reasonable—yet the work was completed in about 30 minutes (including cleanup) and the total was just under $400.
I accept that I approved the service, but the outcome left me feeling the pricing was high compared with other plumbing companies. Trust is built brick by brick, and this experience set it back for me. I hope Abacus will provide clearer pricing context (time estimates or typical ranges) up front. It’s surprising given their BBB recognition.

You can at 9 pm as requested, turned off the alarm on the tankless hot water heater and the water that was leaking. Plumber quoted us an outrageous price of $9000.00 to $12000. To replace the tankless system most of that cost was labor as the heater itself would cost less than $2000.00 , while he was seeing if he could get us. A better deal by calling the Company, this 85 year old women did a web search.
Shame on you. Christmas and the hot water heater imploded, good time to take advantage of the old lady 🤔

Monjur was fantastic and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process of deciding on a completely new furnace and AC system for our house. He spent hours with us walking us through all the options and worked with us on cost as well. We ended up replacing both of our systems and couldn't be happier.

We had Abacus come out for an estimate to install two attic fans. Not only did they come up with a fare price, but was able to complete it the same day. I am a retired licensed electrician so I knew how the job needed to be done. We are very pleased with their service.

Deborah (dispatcher) and Robert (serviceman) were extremely helpful and professional. I phoned prior to my day of service and shared that I had an important appt. Deborah arranged for me to be first stop that morning allowing me to make my appt and Robert called ahead to let me know he was on the way, was patient and attentively listened to my concerns and I'm thankful for both his expertise and manner. I'm happy to recommend this business for anyone looking for their services.

The technician was very helpful in assisting my needs. He came out to install monitors for my a/c unit and quickly noticed a bunch of problems the people who had installed my a/c unit had made. Pedro really knows his stuff when it comes to a/c units. I’m glad he came out because I was going to cancel the visit thank God I didn’t that young man Pedro saved my life by showing me all there mistakes if it wasn’t under warranty and just freshly been out in I would’ve had him fix the problem if they don’t come and fix it I will definitely call for Pedro to come and repair the problems and bill it to them.

Long-time customers (both home + rentals) for years. Paid for a routine pre-winter heater tune-up: tech said everything was “fine.” One week later the heater failed. Abacus sent a different tech who immediately said a full $42,000 system replacement was needed, he then got his manger to give us a “deal” of $39,000. When I (the wife) wasn’t home, he told my husband, “I wish your wife were here so I could explain it to her.” It was very frustrating how pushy (and sexist) he was when I told my husband to tell him we are not committing to a $40k job on a whim. After the scammer left (having charged us $390), the heater began overheating and wouldn’t shut off. We called him to come back and he said he had no idea what was going on, turned the whole system off, and left with our only option being to call him for a full system replacement for $40k.

We got multiple opinions all of which said the system is fine and only a $1,600 control board was needed. It has worked perfectly since.

This was blatant fraud, sexist condescension, and dangerous incompetence rolled into one. We’ve asked to cancel our membership, and demanded refunds but cannot get them to return our messages.

They provided 5 star service until decided we were to be their next victims.

    Zero stars. Stay far away.

Had a technician come out to do an estimate on new water heaters. As ours went out. We were canceled two days in a row after waiting all day because they weren’t able to get to us during our scheduled time or even the same day. Once they did come out they gave us estimates on two different options of water heater replacements. And their prices are outrageous compared to other companies out there. I don’t know what makes them as special to be able to essentially charge double what other companies are charging? So needless to say we did not go with them to do our installation and saved almost $7000. We did use them for our complete air condition system around two years ago and now looking back I feel like we got kind of screwed on that end as well because we shouldn’t have paid as much as we did for that but too late to do anything about that, but just wanted to give people a heads up to look around and get several estimates before you just go with abacus

We’ve been with Abacus for about 3 years now, from the initial AC unit/Furnace install to annual maintenance checks. While our service tech experiences have had some ups and downs over the years, Dylan Linkvis was definitely a highlight along with Eddy Matus Jr. Dylan recently completed our annual furnace check, and I was very pleased with both the quality of his work and his overall demeanor. He was thorough and efficient in performing all the necessary checks, clearly knowledgeable about what needed to be done. Just as importantly, Dylan was incredibly personable—easy to talk to, respectful, and willing to explain what he was doing in a way that was easy to understand. It's always a bonus when great service comes with a friendly attitude! Will definitely be requesting either one for the next service appointment.

Abacus showed up within hours of the initial call to clear a clogged drain line under their $49 special. They even came back the next day to camera inspect the line to make sure there weren’t more significant issues - without additional charge. Both techs were prompt, highly professional, helpful and friendly. This was as perfect of an experience as it could have been. Highly recommend without hesitation.

Shower handle broke off while showering
and water was still running. In order to turn off, had to turn off water for the whole house. Abbacus Technician arrived and could not turn water off for shower without turning off water for whole house. Technician said I needed valve replaced but it would be 2 days later for installment. It required to go inside the wall and replace valve pipe.I just needed the water for shower cut off. ARS Rooter technician came by and he replaced the shower cartridge, stopped the water, and replaced handle. Everything works fine. I don’t think Abbacus technician was prepared or he just wanted to get to the most expensive job without showing options like, immediately getting water to turn off without whole house being waterless. Usually I get good service from Abbacus but was a little disappointed with this one.

Plumbing service is not complete and I’m not satisfied, the pipe is not concealed properly, the hole dug to connect drain on main sewer is still exposed. I was told that they’re waiting for inspection from the city if it’s approved or not . I thought the pipe will be concealed by the gutters , it’s just ugly to look at . I hope something will be done . Thank you for reaching out.

I had a very disappointing experience with Abacus Plumbing due to poor communication.

When I initially called, I clearly explained the plumbing issues and that my home is a manufactured home. I was specifically asked whether the home was on wheels or on a concrete foundation. I explained it is on a concrete foundation, and I was told that was fine and that they do work on manufactured homes in that situation. Based on that confirmation, they scheduled me for a Friday appointment with a 4–8 pm window and said I would receive a call 30–45 minutes before arrival.

Around 4:30 pm, I received a call saying the technician was about 45 minutes to an hour away, which was still within the window. However, around 4:45 pm, the technician called again and asked if the home was a manufactured home. I said yes, and he told me he might not be able to work on it and that either he or someone from the office would call me back in a few minutes to confirm.

    No one ever called back.

At about 5:45 pm, after waiting most of the afternoon, I called Abacus myself and was told they were not coming out at all. This resulted in me wasting the last half of a business day off work waiting on an appointment that should never have been scheduled if they truly do not service manufactured homes.

The issue was not the policy—it was the lack of internal communication and follow-up. If Abacus does not work on manufactured homes, that should be clearly confirmed before scheduling and certainly not after the customer has already waited for hours.
