I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but my experience with Blue Science Pools has been so frustrating that I feel obligated to warn others. In my opinion, this company has serious issues with transparency, communication, and billing practices.
To start, we were being charged nearly $300 per month for pool service on our 30,000-gallon pool. For that price, you would expect consistent and thorough service. Instead, we repeatedly found that the work we were paying for simply wasn’t being done. Fortunately, we have exterior cameras—and they showed their technicians skipping services we were billed for, including vacuuming. After sending Blue Science the video proof (which I still have), they finally acknowledged the mistake.

It only got worse from there.

Even after cancelling our service in writing before the next billing cycle, Blue Science continued to charge our credit card—despite not showing up or performing any work. When I saw the unexpected charge, I called immediately and recorded my conversation with them. They admitted the error and told me we would receive a refund.

That refund never came.

I have now had four separate conversations with their staff, including Wanda and Mike. Each time, they admit fault. Each time, they promise a refund. And each time, nothing happens. Thankfully, I have recordings of every conversation, so resolving this with my credit card company shouldn’t be an issue. But it should NEVER come to this.

Based on my experience, Blue Science Pools is not a company I can recommend or trust. If you value your pool, your money, and reliable communication, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. Before signing up with any company, I also advise checking customer feedback on places like the Better Business Bureau, social media, and review sites such as YELP—had I done that sooner, I might have avoided this entire ordeal.

My honest recommendation: stay far away from Blue Science Pools.

Josh Seal is a phenomenal pool tech. He does an amazing job listening to our concerns and needs for our pool maintenance. He’s very dependable, communicates well and is always on time. He really takes pride in his work. We also appreciate the service with get from the field manager Keith, who also makes sure we are always taken care of. Keith and Josh make a great team and we wouldn’t trust anyone else with our pool services.

Our pool heater stopped working, so we reached out for help. The team quickly let us know that a technician was available nearby. Dillon came out to check our equipment and found that a part needed to be ordered. Since we were expecting our grandchildren to visit soon, we were hoping for a fast fix. The part arrived and Dillon installed it within two days, just in time for our family swim. We’re really impressed with the fast and reliable pool service!

We recently had Blue Science Pools perform maintenance on our pool (new filter tank, automation and basket.) Cost was $7.5K, no notice of when the technician would arrive at our house, it was not until we called late afternoon that we were told we were next. Technician never advised he was on the way or arrived--even left for the day. What should have taken a day took 7 days to complete. In that time frame the power and the gas was turned completely off to our back yard. This was over the New Year holiday which caused inconvenience in celebrations--as meals from the grill and being outside with friends and family were hindered. Furthermore the lengthened work caused the pool to sit for a week with no filtration or zodiac taking care of the debris that accumulated over that period. Lastly, the work was not started, nor completed and we were already charged before the technician showed--for the full price. Overall satisfaction with Blue Science Pools left a great amount to be desired.

we've called on this pool service company in katy several times for resurfacing the pool and replacing things like the heater and pool pump. every time, they do excellent work and really go the extra mile. harold made sure to fix any issues with the pipes, tidy up the pool plumbing, and not just swap out the broken part, but actually made the whole setup better than before. you can count on them to get the job done right and keep your pool running smoothly!

His attention to detail is outstanding — from thoroughly brushing and vacuuming to checking equipment and making sure everything is running at its best.

What really sets this service apart is Jorell's consistency and pride in his work. He doesn't just do the basics; he takes the time to notice issues before they become problems and communicates clearly about what he has done and what I may need to keep an eye on.

our experience with weekly pool cleaning in katy was fantastic. the team kept the water sparkling clear and made sure the pool area was clean and comfortable, even with the texas sun shining bright. the kids loved how clean and inviting the shallow area was, which made it perfect for playtime. the l-shaped pool design, recommended by raymond, gave everyone plenty of space—swimmers had their own lanes while the kids played nearby without getting in the way. this pool service is a real gem in katy.

The pool, patio, and enclosure all look fantastic, and the communication and service throughout were excellent. If you’re thinking of adding a pool to your home, I highly recommend this company!

i’ve been using blue science pools for regular weekly pool service, and they’ve also helped with replacing the automation system, actuators, the pump, and even regrouting the spa and pool tile. they are always dependable and their prices are fair compared to others. ernest has been taking care of my pool for a long time, and i really like having the same person each visit. it makes everything smoother and more comfortable. overall, i’m very satisfied with their pool service and attention to detail.

There were some delays with the electrical part of the project, but the crew made sure to keep everything neat, and if you have specific requests (like hiding wires), just let them know ahead of time and be available when they’re working. Jared, our sales representative, and Dillon, the project manager, were both fantastic. I even treated the crew to lunch as a thank you for their hard work! Back in phase 2, the team did a great job with the cleaning and prepping, staying organized, on schedule, and maintaining a clean worksite. There was a bit of a wait to get started, but that’s just because so many people are getting pool services done right now. Next up, they’ll be finishing up the plumbing and final touches. Overall, I’m really happy with how everything has gone and can’t recommend this pool cleaning crew enough!

After searching online, I decided to have Blue Science Pools install a pool heater at my home in Katy. When my heater stopped working recently, I reached out for help. Even though the warranty had just ended, Wayne from the team went the extra mile and contacted the manufacturer for me to try and get the repair covered. He kept following up and made sure everything was handled, even when the manufacturer took a while to respond. In the end, they replaced the faulty gas valve in my heater at no cost. I appreciate the dedication and support throughout the whole process. Highly recommend for anyone looking for reliable pool service in Katy!

We worked with Conner on the design and Sebastian as our project manager, and Wayne has been helping us with pool cleaning and maintenance. Conner came to our home, measured the backyard, and gave us a design that fit our budget. As we started to pick out things like new tile and a raised spa, Conner was patient and always listened to what we wanted, making changes and keeping us updated every step of the way. After we agreed on everything, the team got started by handling all the permits and making sure everything was set up with the power company, since we had some lines nearby. The wait before the work started was the longest part, but once the construction began, things moved fast. The equipment arrived right on schedule, and we were swimming in our new pool in no time. Sebastian always responded quickly to any questions or concerns. The crew even worked on weekends to keep things moving. I was worried at first that the project would drag on or that we’d get hit with extra charges, but that didn’t happen at all. Every day I checked the progress and was impressed by their attention to detail. Wayne from the service team came out to show me how to check pool chemicals and use the equipment. He was super helpful and answered all my questions, even by text. One time, when I had a clog in the pump on a Sunday, I messaged Wayne thinking he’d just put me on the schedule for later in the week. Instead, he spent the day helping me troubleshoot over the phone, and when that didn’t work, he came out himself the next day and fixed everything. The service really is top-notch. Since then, I’ve recommended this pool cleaning and maintenance team to several friends, and they’ve all had great experiences, too. I can’t say enough good things about Wayne and the whole crew!

Working with Dillon, Nathan, and Jared was fantastic—they really went above and beyond our expectations, which were already high after hearing so many good things. They explained everything clearly, from the costs and project timeline to what kind of noise to expect during construction. Even when I kept changing my mind about certain features, they were always patient and quick to respond to my calls and texts. Every crew that came to work was professional, thorough, and left the area clean. The whole process, from digging to our first swim, was finished in just about five weeks. As impressed as I was with their customer service, the finished pool itself is even more amazing. I had a lot of specific ideas about what I wanted, and Dillon used his expertise to suggest features I hadn’t even considered, like adding an umbrella hole on the tanning ledge, anchor points for a volleyball net, extra umbrella spots on the deck, and adjusting the depth to make it just right. The pool turned out even better than I had hoped! I don’t plan to move anytime soon, but if I ever do, I’d want this company to build my next pool too.

I think this is the best pool service we ever had. They do everything from regular maintenance of our pool to fixing any issues it has. They do it all and they do a fantastic job as well. We have been assigned Jennifer and she is outstanding. She is extremely professional, does a wonderful job of keeping our pool well maintained and also makes sure that if there are any issues that need attention then it’s taken care of by their superb service team. The whole process is seamless and they are very accommodating with our schedule. I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for pool specialists.

Blue Science Pools has been phenomenal. But what truly sets them apart is my technician, Jorell. He treats my pool like it’s his own—something you just can’t teach in business. That personal touch is rare these days. He even gave me his personal number in case I ever needed anything, and that alone speaks volumes about his professionalism and care.

I’ve had several pool technicians over the years, but Jorell is by far my favorite. I genuinely hope he stays with the company, because service like his is the reason I’ll continue using Blue Science Pools. Highly recommend!
