When our A/C went out we contacted Barnes Heating and Air, they responded quickly and assessed the problem with the compressor. They made temporary repairs to the existing unit and recommended a more cost efficient unit and modifications to our previous installation to allow the new unit to perform at its maximum. The cost was very competitive with other HVAC contractors and the service and professionalism with which they conducted the replacement made my family comfortable during the process. The new unit is more accessible to replace Air filters, and the instructions for routine servicing by the installers was informative and assures many years for reliable functionality. I would highly recommend Barnes Heating and Air to anyone of my neighbors and friends.

Originally had a 5 star review talking about quality parts with a solid warranty. I'm editing it because for a few reasons that lead me to believe there was a refrigerant leak and they were deceptive about it. They replaced my entire system in 2020 with a 5 year parts and labor and 10 year parts warranty. Note that this edit is being made in 2026, 1 year after labor is covered. For the past 2 or 3 years during the AC tune up, I keep being told that the refrigerant needs 1lb at $200+ for a number of years. (they would not confirm how many times that I paid for refrigerant and I haven't scoured my emails, but it's at least 2 or 3 times) This year, when labor is not included, a leak is found in the evaporator coil. I ask how much the part is that needs to be replaced, tech says $5000. A quick internet search this evening proved that wrong, coils are $1000+/- for my size system. And the "labor" cost for a guy replace the coil (which took about 3 hours) is $1750! Which coincidentally covers the cost of parts and labor!

So there was a leak for years that went unreported, I was constantly told that the system needed to be "topped off". I was just bold faced lied to about the replacement part cost to persuade me that the labor price was reasonable. And the labor cost was increased to cover the part, which was under warranty!

TLDR, multiple lies and omissions to avoid changing a leaking evaporator coil under warranty. Y'all lost a customer and it's very disappointing.

Fixed my AC issue and informed of another one coming. Piece was under warranty so proactively reduced price. Front desk and tech not on same page about diagnostic fee going towards repair cost but was able to get them aligned on that.

I inquired about replacing unit but different people handle that so didn’t immediately get any info. That’s good because they’re not upselling. On the other hand I would like for them to be able to communicate that interest back to the other team without me needing to reach out again.

Would recommend for honest AC help.

Do what you want with this review but taking advantage of a family with a 2 year old in the middle of summer shouldn’t be ethical especially when you show up at 4pm to fix. Got charged $518 for a capacitor ($30 part, and tech straight up said the parts is $400) Mind you I live less than 10miles from the business. But they sensed that I was desperate when they show up late evening and the day before July 4th. I wouldn’t call them for emergency unless you are willing to pay triple of what others would charge

The customer service at this place makes me think of the 50's. Always willing to go the extra mile. My AC went out tonight. I called and the owner ended up contacting the owner. We diagnosed it over the phone, he then drove to his shop and picked up a new capacitor and hand delivered it to my house. This rare value is something to be proud of. Should be 10 stars.

Eddie Clark with doctor cool did a great maintenance and check everything even my electric heat and and clean my outside unit and informed me of potential hazards I would recommend Dr cool to all my friends.

I had a maintenance done by Eddie for Dr cool professor heat he did an indoor and outdoor maintenance and he did a great job and he showed me potential problems that could occur and he cleaned my unit and he helped fix some things that were necessary and everything is running pretty good hopefully he can come back out and do another maintenance thank you very much doctor cool..

Flawless service, great availability and some of the nicest people I’ve ever dealt with. Installation was smooth and 5 years later, everything works great. Normal maintenance is easy to schedule and the job gets done right the first time.

Great staff! Tuan and Zach did an incredible job replacing the duct work in our attic. Three days of hot dirty work. They went above and beyond by fixing my front door before they left.
