I will never use Handyman Connection again and would not recommend them to anyone else. My project was to mount a mantle on a brick fireplace. The company owner came out and assessed the project. He was to get back to me with an estimate. The mantle is a very heavy beam.
I received the estimate 2 weeks later after calling to ask about it. The estimate seemed really high, but I was told it would require 2 skilled workmen at least a day and possibly another half day to complete the job.
Workmen came out a week later, said the brackets to mount the mantle would require a special order and they would get back to me. Heard nothing for 2 weeks, so called the company. Was told I had been sent an email stating when work was scheduled. I never received it. Workman showed up morning after I called.
Only 1 workman came and he completed the job in 2 hours. The project cost over $1500 and while he did a nice job and cleaned up after himself, all the job really required was the installation of 3 L brackets and quickly placing the beam on them. This is not what was originally discussed and quoted for.
I sent a letter to the company detailing my problems with them. Then had difficulty reaching the owner. Finally reached him by calling the company myself.
The owner stated that he called numerous times and phone always went to voice mail. He left no messages. My iPhone recorded no calls from Handyman Connection. Stated he sent text stating when workman would be returning to complete the job. I never received it.
I expressed my displeasure with the cost of the project. He stated that he did not base the cost on how many workmen and how many hours it would require to do the job. He based it on the skill required to do the job, the weight and uniqueness of the beam and the fact that he had to supply the insurance to cover any problems.
He is making no adjustment in the cost of the project.
This company charged an excessive amount of money for what turned out to be a much simpler installation than suggested. In future, I will get multiple estimates before employing any handymen and I would recommend you find someone other than Handyman Connection of McKinney for your work.

We had built in bunk beds built in for our twin girls. We had a great experience start to finish. We could not have hoped for a better craftsman than Adrian. He is incredibly professional, kind and just a great guy. He did a phenomenal job on the build, great at communication, timeliness, and able to work around all the crazy things going at our home. We are so grateful that we got hooked up with him to help us!

I called Handyman Connection to install 3 new Bedroom doors. They came out and gave me a quote on the labor which was reasonable (less than $300).They gave me the option to purchase the doors myself to save money on the project. I scheduled a time for the work and Dusty showed up on time and kept working till the job was done. I was very impressed with Dusty‘s work and he was very professional. I will be calling the Handyman Connection anytime I have a small Home project that I don’t feel comfortable trying to complete myself. I’m just about ready to call them to schedule a couple more Closet door replacements. The guys & gals at Handyman Connection in McKinney are Super to work with and do a Great job.

David at Handyman built a custom Range Hood for us and he did an awesome job!
He understood my vision, kept me in the loop, and gave me suggestions. He is very knowledgeable and professional. The office personnel Jessica was also very professional and helpful.

I was very pleased with the quality of work that Rodney and his team provided. I had cabinets installed, weather stripping on doors replaced, grouting redone, dryer vent cleaned and a wall repair. Each job was professionally completed and quality of work was excellent. I will definitely call Handyman Connection in the future as home maintenance and repair issues come up. It is wonderful to know this company is there. Wonderful “one stop shopping” for home maintenance and repair. I very definitely recommend them.

We had a very good experience with the Handyman Connection on our game room renovation. They were prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and the pricing was competitive. I really appreciated the way they cleaned up at the end of each day and kept me informed on the progress. I will definitely call on them again for any future projects!

We were pleasantly surprised when David arrived a little earlier than our appointment. After showing him where and what needed to be done, he immediately began working. He fixed 3 doors that were sticking and fixed the strike plate on our french door where the lock wasn't catching completely. He also repaired a cabinet above our refrigerator where the center piece was missing. He added "plastic wood" to a cabinet door that had a mishap with a bullet. We were very pleased with the job he did. He was respectful, courteous and even did a great job cleaning up after himself. Would definitely use David again for other small handyman projects.„

JJ's Landscapers in Sherman came out today to freshen up my yard. Amazing results from Jeremiah. I have a deep backyard that hadn't been mowed in a month. With his lawn tractor, Jeremiah meticulously restored the lawn to its former condition. I was overjoyed.
I've used different individuals and they haven't been reliable. Using an actual home services company like JJ's really made the difference. The owner, Jonathan, stayed in touch until Jeremiah arrived to start the maintenance. I really appreciate that communication.
I highly recommend them for a professional landscaping business!

Our first time using Handyman Connection was a great experience. A fair quote was received promptly, and multiple modes of communication were offered for convenience. We had our appointment scheduled and our contractor arrived on time and called before hand to let us know he was on the way. Dusty was awesome. He did a great job, made sure everything was level (very important when installing a barn door) and used quality materials. He even went out of his way to try and reduce the noise he made while my toddler napped! We will absolutely be calling back for our next project.

I was very excited about working with Handyman Connection of McKinney based on the communication and quote I received from Troy Manary. I encountered several delays from the building manufacturer and City Permits and Troy was in constant contact throughout. The job they were hired to do was installing drywall in the lower level of a 12' x 20' Tuffshed building; it was supposed to be a 2-day job. When the installation day came that's when the disappointment began. My installer, Josh, arrived at 10AM with 12 sheets of drywall and got them loaded into the shed. At 2PM he rang my doorbell and let me know he was done for the day. After they left I went and checked on the progress and to my surprise they had only hung about half of the drywall sheets they brought, and it was clear they would need more. The next day Josh again showed up at 10AM and I had to point out some defects in his work that were unacceptable. He fixed those problems (with my help because his helper no showed) and then got back to work hanging the remaining drywall. Again at around 2PM he rang my doorbell and said he was done for the day. I checked his progress again he still had not hung all the drywall. Now I was upset because I had other trades scheduled to come in the following days and he still needed to tape, bed and sand the drywall. The next day Josh arrived and got the tape and mudwork done and did a sub-par job at best. He did not skimcoat the drywall at all, only covering the screw heads and taping and mudding the joints. I had to go in behind him to fix screw heads that were not covered well and cut off tape that was not properly trimmed the first time. It took so long to do the mudwork that they had to come back a fourth day to sand the mudwork. I was lucky to have a young man named Marcos do the sanding because I was honestly fed up with Josh and his lazy work ethic. At the end of the project I had to settle with some poor craftsmanship because I did not get the standard three bids I should have to get this done properly. It is a dressed up utility shed that a portion will serve as my office space so I can live with it. At the end of the project the invoice was $500 more than what was quoted because the materials were not included; that could have been an oversight on my part but could have easily been included on the original estimate. I would not recommend Handyman Connection to anybody. I wouldn't have them back in my home to change a lightbulb.

I had a one off and somewhat unique problem regarding mounting a center channel speaker with enough clearance so the front projector cleared the center channel. My first choice was to sink the speaker in the wall, but this required moving a natural gas line. While this could definitely be done it would add cost to the project. Together, we decided on another route of floating the screen off the wall. The work was completed quickly and the quality is outstanding. The personnel at Handyman Connection and the end product are definetely the highest quality most professional I have come across and their prices are fair.
