Appliance Repair reviews in Plano, Texas

Timing and friendliness were great, however you should check and see if a part is available before coming to the homeowner's house. If I had known that the part was unavailable and hard to get, I would have cancelled the appointment and bought a new refrigerator and added the almost $200 of the cost to the purchase of a new refrigerator. it turns out the part I needed was extremely rare and otherwise can't be found. So, I will still need to get a new refrigerator. UPDATE 9/20/24. I found a part on eBay. It was delivered today. Called Sears and they sent out a tech today, installed & ran a diagnostic on it to assure it was running. Said I shud have ice by morning. Now that is what I call GOOD Customer Service and no additional charge.🥰🥰

The technician changed the motor that circulates the water in my disher washer. It was a difficult task. He completed it with great skill. He tested the dishwasher and cleaned the area. Before he left he gave me quick lesson on how to prevent problems and get the best results.

Sears tricked me into disqualifying my wall oven for replacement. We have been a Sears home warranty customer for years. After my husband passed fear of identity theft caused me to close several accounts that were in my husband’s name. Sears Home Warranty was closed by accident. When I attempted to reopen my account there was a discrepancy in Sears’ system that caused my account to appear open in one system and closed in another. This caused a problem on Sears’ end because none of the sales people could reopen my account because when a sales rep attempted to reopen my account they couldn’t do so because sales did not have the appropriate permission level to update my account. For at least a bout 3months I kept checking and was sent to several sales reps until I luckily spoke with a sales rep who explained why she could not make a change to my account because of her permission level. She recommended I call Benefits who has the proper permissions to correct my account. In the meantime I opened a new Sears Warranty account. I was surprised that I reached someone who could help me. Little did I know that my account was reopened due to the sales rep used an erroneous home address. The sales rep encouraged me to purchase a discounted repair service while awaiting 30 days for my new home warranty to become effective. I asked the sales rep if I purchased the discounted repair service if my appliance could not be repaired for some reason would the appliance still be covered when my warranty became active in 30 days. The sales rep stated yes. The sales rep stated that by going ahead and purchasing the discounted repair service would simply communicate that I was trying to trying to keep my appliance in good working order. When the repair guy came to repair my appliance it was discovered that the part was no longer made. The repair guy also alerted me to the fact that my address was wrong and that no such address existed. The repair guy also encouraged me to get my address corrected. Repair guy sent me an Approval for appliance replacement. When I called Sears to find out how their appliance replacement worked I was told again that my appliance had been approved for replacement. I waited a while thinking Sears would contact me but they never did. I learned later that the sales rep gave me erroneous information. When I called Sears Home Warranty Benefits I provided my old contract number to show that over the years we had paid thousands of dollars to Sears. The Benefits rep stated that the additional information on my previous account provided information that Sears needed to approve the appliance replacement. The sales rep said that in 24 hours I would hear back from Sears and that a repair technician would be sent to my home at no cost to me and my appliance would be replaced. I still have not heard from Sears and in the meantime my account was flagged to show no replacement because the appliance could not be repaired prior to my new contract becoming active. This is unfair. The sales rep set me up for not covering my appliance by telling me that my appliance would still be covered. I recommend warranty buyers not fool with the discounted repair “benefit” because it is how Sears gets away with not replacing appliances. I did not expect the part to no longer be available. I trusted the Sears sales representative to be truthful. Instead Sears offers the repair “benefit” to sucker in the unsuspecting customer to have their appliance disqualified for replacement. Buyer beware! I am disgusted with Sears for offering a discounted repair benefit to help to ensure Sears will replace fewer customers appliances. Shame on you Sears!!! Why take advantage of a widow? I can use all the help I can get. Sears needs to replace my appliance as it was approved for replacement but now Sears doesn’t want to honor the approval to replace my appliance.
DO NOT PURCHASE THE SEARS HOME WARRANTY APPLIANCE REPAIR BENEFIT - it’s a trick. A bait and switch. -
Michael did a great job! Extremely professional and knowledgeable!

Can't talk to a person when scheduling or after scheduling an appointment. They couldn't service my dryer because the equipment panel was at the back of the dryer and the techs aren't allowed to pull the dryer out from the wall to access the panel but they didn't tell me this requirement when scheduling or confirming the appointment. I told them the exact dryer style and model numbers so they knew the panel would be on the back but still did not tell me in advance. The tech had to leave and reschedule for another time. There is zero actual customer service before or after the tech is actually there.

The technician ripped us off. He spent 20 min to replace a $10 fuse and clean a thermostat and charged $300 for labor. I called customer service after spending 2 hrs trying to get the right number and navigating through the various menus only to be told they can't do anything until the payment is processed which takes 72 hrs. Don't use this repair service!!!!! Update; Sears contacted us via email, provided the standard phone no. and website address. Finally reached the customer care team who offered a $10 discount. Still unsatisfactory. Again, don't contract with Sears!!!!! At this point I would give Sears no Stars for their service.

We like the technician a lot and we’re not sure that this is his fault. So this is not reading the technician. This is rating the home warranty. We waited two months for someone to come and fix the air conditioner. It’s hot in Texas in the summer.. Someone finally came out and in less than two days it’s not working again. So, the warranty company did not fix the problem and now we have to wait till October 1 to get our air conditioner fixed. Outrageous.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! ...AGAIN, and AGAIN and AGAIN! they only do what's 'written down', zero flexibility!!!
UPDATE: after reading the 'canned' response from the 'Sear Home services (owner)', I call the number that 'the owner' suggested that I call for further assistance ....
SAME song and dance, same customer service personnel ... same 'buy the non-flexible "rules" that the customer service personnel HAVE TO "read' me.... same "I'll summit your request" ...same lack of understanding. I DO HAVE TO GIVE the customer service person (this time), after 45mins AGAIN on phone, some credit ...he did agree to add to the request to add BOTH service calls and the "light bulb" (not rocket science) recommendation so that the reviewers could see the whole picture. Instead of a single call is not refundable!!!!
ANOTHER canned response WILL be responded to this UPDATE, with same phone number to same people that have zero power to make their own decision!!!
They are horrible, give wrong diagnosis, don’t write it down for tracking purposes, say you refused service, THEN, charge you for wrong diagnosis, AND then will not refund you, ***AND*** will not respond to emails!!!
PLEASE, get some other company!!! They used to be the best company ever, now…. among the worst!!! AND their customer service is horrible/nonexistent
…… you WILL wait forever on hold, finally get very nice young lady (that tries) that doesn’t understand what incandescent lightbulb means, transfers to another nice young lady that doesn’t understand either, repeat 2 more times, get transferred to a manager (wait again on hold for 19mins longer for the manager), then get hung up on by manager because I was upset by now (over an hour on phone by now),, repeat calling sequence again, only to be given an email address to send complaint to, emailed address only to never hear from them again!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!*********UPDATE**********!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!! FIVE MONTHS later
!!!!!!!!!!!! (since 9/2024),
!!!!!!!!!!!! STILL no response
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

***** The reason for my calls *****
************************************
…back in September 2024, they sent out unqualified technicians that gave WRONG diagnosis and advice; then charged me for the call anyway!!! …” range hood can’t use LED bulbs” HOGWASH!!!! He had ZERO clue, had zero bulbs with him to prove his WRONG ‘expert’ opinion!!!
Charged call ANYWAY!!! Checked his boxes that said I refused service.?.?, but didn’t write down ANY diagnosis, …when he only gave stupid advice that I needed to get an incandescent bulb to fix the problem!!! SO WRONG!!! WHILE HE WAS AT MY HOME, I showed him that the NEW LED bulb that I had worked fine in a different light socket in my home!! He went to his truck only to return to say “I don’t have a bulb with me, you should get an incandescent bulb” …I did that, it didn’t work either! Called them back, sent a different tech, CHARGED ME AGAIN, and won’t refund 1st call incorrect diagnosis (STUPID DIAGNOSIS!!)
…because he checked some box that said I refused service!!! …I did exactly what he advised ME to do …. he had no bulb to ‘service’ his diagnosis!!! ….and didn’t write it down for tracking purposes.
…do you know how hard it is to find an incandescent special size bulb now days!!!!!! But I found one after many calls to special bulb companies.
They are horrible, PLEASE DON’T USE THEM, PLEASE!?!? You can find way more qualified technicians working for other companies
No wonder Sears stores are mostly extinct now days
…. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
…INCOMPETENT TECHNICIAN, THAT WAS DISHONEST
…equals…
no Sears/Sears Customer Service of days old!!!!! -
He was very helpful. One pf the male water ports in the back of my washer was stripped. He said the part to repair the washer was over $555.00. He said that I could purchase a new washer for that amount. I went to Lowes and purchased a new washer for $538.00.

The tech that came to work on my refrigerator today was very good. He tested everything before working on it. He was very good at explaining what he was doing and why.
The first tech that came 2 months ago didn’t test anything. He ordered the usual suspects, got my money and left…15 mins. Ordered parts that weren’t needed.
Again. The tech today was great! -
Excellent technician. Horrible customer service with no communication on when the call would take place. I waited all day and he arrived at 5:00 pm. He was wonderful
-
The technician was prompt, professional, and polite. The only part of this whole process that I didn’t like was the ridiculously long timeframe that I had no idea when someone was going to come. That makes it very hard when someone has to be at work and doesn’t even know if it’s gonna be in the morning or the afternoon let alone early morning or late afternoon or whatever.
-
Technician arrived over 3 hours late without updating me or Sears gave me no way to communicate with them. They came in and said they wasn't anything wrong with our fridge and freezer dispite them losing cooling control multiple times. They just moved the plastic door cushions back in place and gave no note on where to go from there with our issue.
-
Tech was unable to complete diagnostics, because he claimed he couldn’t fully get the dishwasher out of the cabinet. The tech did not properly reseat the dishwasher. I was still charged diagnostic fee even though he did not diagnose the problem.

We requested the annual preventative maintenance included in our extended warranty. We were able to schedule an appointment at the time we would be available.
Sergio called to alert me of his arrival and came promptly. He was cordial and professional. He went about his work knowledgeabley and completed what seemed to be a thorough check of the appliance. He left us instructions of what we should.do after he replaced the old filter with the new water filter we supplied.
Sergio was a pleasure to interact with. -
The cooktop ultimately is going to be replaced (thank you Sears Protect), but I got scolded for not cleaning it properly, according to him, and he suggested I didn't deserve a replacement since I only had the warranty for a month. I showed him the paperwork which showed a year AND a month and he didn't say anything more about that.
I hope he is not the person who will be installing the replacement cooktop.
Sears Protect is great, this contractor was not so great. -
Tech didn't really seem to know the job; suggested I wait 24-48 hours before the internal temperature of the refrigerator would reach ideal cooling temperature. It never happened.
-
Very professional and conscientious about his work. Provided prompt and courteous service.

Steve did a great job. He was very pleasant to talk to.
