My 17-yr-old air-conditioner had the nerve to up and die on July 4th. I came home from the lake to an 86-degree house. R-22 Freon gone; 1977 ductwork in need of a total overhaul. After speaking with about eight companies and having four of them come out to give me estimates, I decided to go with AiRCO.
Jeremy Extein at AiRCO took his time with me and walked me through all my options. I really appreciate how thorough he was and his willingness to answer all my questions. I chose a Daikin Fit 4-ton DX6VS condenser with the DM80VC furnace and miles of new flex-duct. (I have a one-story, 2,400 sq ft. house.)
David and his amazing crew arrived promptly less than a week after my A/C died. (I had a neighbor’s portable A/C unit in my bedroom so I could survive.) In two days, they had removed my old, busted A/C and replaced it, my furnace, and all my ducts with a fantastic, super-quiet new system. They completely reconfigured the unit in my attic so it can be serviced properly. (The old one had been Frankensteined by a flipper and was very difficult to get around to access the maintenance panel.) The Daiken is now on the left at the top of my attic stairs with plenty of floorspace to work on it. I have these octopus-arms of silver flex-duct running everywhere that are strapped to the underside of my roof for better airflow! The unit in the side yard is tiny with the fan discharge on the side. I can hardly hear it running when I’m standing right next to it. I am no longer bothering my neighbors with the sound of my old unit going through its death throws.
Most importantly, my house is cold again! I love the new thermostat on the wall that comes with the system. It’s super easy to program from my phone, even when I’m not home. I have waited a bit to write this review so I can confirm that my summer Austin Energy costs have decreased by $50 a month. I couldn’t be happier with my choice. I spoke to many companies over the phone and listened to several while standing in my side-yard. None of them matched the knowledge and professionalism of AiRCO. Quick, honest and professional. Our AC went out and they were able to turn around a get a new improved unit with tax rebate options in 24 hrs. In the middle of the summer. Install was great, sales team was great, all around fabulous service and will keep them on the books for future PM and repair needs. Highly recommend.

Our furnace broke down during a recent cold spell and Airco was one of the only providers able to send a tech out on a Sunday. As a new control board would be required in an old system, we opted for a new Daikin heat pump. There was no hard sell and they were really knowledgeable about the pros/cons of the choices we were considering.

The installation was smooth, and they followed up to replace a piece of duct work that wasn't salvageable as well as to calibrate the thermostat and ensure everything was in working order before a week of freezing temperatures rolled in.

I called today to ask about fixing my AC unit. Their system hung up on me. I called back a second time after several minutes a girl answered and said hello, I had to ask if I had contacted the right company. She scheduled my appointment but she couldn’t tell me about the service plans so she passed me off to someone else who also answered the phone hello. He was so rude told me to look at the website I said your website didn’t give me the information I needed it. I ended up asking him to cancel my appointment he hung up on me so I had to call back to cancel my appointment. It’s a shame they could’ve made a lot of money off of me!

Charles did an awesome job. Very professional and walked me through the whole process. Cleaned up after themselves and everything works well. I would recommend Airco for all your plumbing needs.

When we started having issues with our AC unit leaking water, we called Airco to come check things out and their tech Martin was fantastic. Everyone we worked with at the company were very friendly and patient with explaining things. We ended up having to replace our AC unit but they were able to get the installation done pretty quickly and did a great job.

AIRCO Air Conditioning, Electrical, and Plumbing installed a wonderful air conditioning unit after our old unit became inoperative. AIRCO installed a state-of-the-art, variable speed, Daikin Split Air Conditioner 16 SEER2, 3 Ton, One+ Smart Thermostat unit. It is quiet, but powerful, and optimizes energy usage utilizing the variable speed function. The outside Condenser Fan is 1/3 the size of the old system. The programable thermostat is state of the art and easy to program and use. Thumbs up to AIRCO for providing this product with the customer in mind!

They misdiagnosed my AC issue. Said it was a circuit board issue and it would cost $2k to fix and even then he warmed saying 50% chance he’s wrong. They were trying to just upsell me to get a new $12k AC system. I called Service Wizard for a second opinion. Turns out it was just a simple capacitor issue which is one of the most common AC problems. Would not recommend at all.

Had an issue with a fairly new HVAC system and my normal guy was out of town.
Reached out to AIRCO and they had me on the schedule pretty quick after a few short questions.

The tech , Gage , showed up a few hours later and was very polite and personable and diagnosed the issue quickly.

I was offered a couple of options on how to proceed , he was upfront with parts prices on the spot and resolved the issue quickly , as well as checking to see if there was anything else that needed addressed while he was there.

Great experience with this company! AiRCO was recommended to me by a neighbor and I am very happy I took his advice. My technician Connor was wonderful - he was pleasant, knowledgeable, and identified & resolved my issue in a few hours.

AirCo was very easy to work with from the start. I had the pleasure of working with Jon Paul for my quote. He was very knowledgeable and detailed. He went over several options for me and explained the best option for me based on my needs. The install took one day! The installers were courteous. Once the install was complete, I was walked through the functions of the system and couldn’t be happier! Thank you AirCo for an awesome experience!

I hate leaving bad reviews, but this company deserves it. I had read all the positive reviews and was excited to hire them, but everything that could've gone wrong did, and more.

Not sure who hires their crew, but the guy they sent to help me was late and gradually got more and more verbally aggressive with me to the point I almost called the police because I was worried he was going to get physical with me or my children.

This may be the most uncomfortable experience I've ever had with any kind of service.

I hope you are luckier than me if you decide to hire them, but honestly, there are so many better options in town that it's not even worth giving them a shot (or second chance in my case).

I cannot recommend Airco Mechanical enough. We recently faced a complex boiler failure in one of our large apartment buildings, and the Airco team was incredible from start to finish.
When the initial high-efficiency unit we installed struggled to keep up with our building's specific demand, Airco didn't just give us excuses; they gave us solutions. On a Saturday, their team went above and beyond by driving to San Antonio to source a specific non-hybrid replacement unit and transporting it directly to our property.
Their technicians and supervisors stayed late into the evening to ensure the installation was perfect and the lines were flushed so our residents could have hot water that same night. If you want a vendor that takes extreme ownership of their work and delivers under pressure, call Airco.

I knew my old system was on its way out, so I got several estimates. Tony evaluated the existing system in my 1950s home and talked me through all the options, then provided a competitive estimate. When my old system did die, Airco was there the next day for the install—in the middle of July, when I know they're super busy. They also helped me modify some ductwork and returns so everything runs smoothly. The new system has been great, and I would use Airco again.

Airco came highly recommended by a family member and the technician named Tony was very professional and very knowledgeable and helpful when he came to my house to provide me with an estimate. He explained everything thoroughly and gave great advise as well. He also provided all the other equipment options available and gave complete pricing estimates. He was also set up a date to have my new system installed and told me his installation crew would complete all work on in about 6 hours. The installation crew arrived at my house at 7:15 am and had the new system installed and operational by about 1:00 pm. They were very professional and very knowledgeable and polite. They explained all the steps of the installation in detail. I would highly recommend Airco to all my friends and family.

Connor from Airco did a wonderful job in servicing my HVAC concerns. He was very thorough and gave a very detailed explanation on the issues I was experiencing. He was able to restore my HVAC system into proper working order. He was very personable and very friendly. Outstanding job!

I love the big flashing sign in front of your facility. I've been able to see it from my back yard a block away since it was installed. It's fantastic. Time and temperature every 37 seconds for many years now. How about changing it periodically. It must have cost a fortune for it to just say the same thing over and over for years. Seems like a lot of wasted pixels.

The service man was very courteous and polite. He had great mannerism as he explained what was causing my back up in the kitchen sink and dishwasher. A few days but I think I will be doing my spring AC check up with AirCo , Inc. price was definitely cost effective given the Faucet in the master faucet and , kitchen sink drain area. Service man explained thoroughly about the 30 day Warranty. Most Appreciative

I recently purchased a Daikin heat pump through Airco A/C and Heating. Eighteen months ago they replaced the system on the other side of our home. I was happy to call them back for this side, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the performance, efficiency, and overall quality. From day one, this system has exceeded my expectations in every way.

Amazing experience with AiRCO. I had them replace my HVAC system and water heater, and had them update the electrical panel outside my house. Jeremy, Charles, and Jack (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) were all fantastic and I would use them all again. They answered all of my questions and provided me multiple options to fix things. Furthermore, for the HVAC, my system died on a Friday and they replaced it the next Monday so very happy with the turnaround and the price.
