First Tech was inexperienced to be trouble shooting on a weekend. Worked hard but issue was beyond his skill set at this time. Second Tech seemed very knowledgeable with our system brand and with a little “want to” most likely found the problem. At this time I would give 4.5 stars. We will see how we are charged for the inexperienced employee.

I have a mini split system(two plus compressor) that is not typical for this area and I called TCA to make sure that they repaired them. The scheduler checked and said that they did, so I made an appointment. My system is a little over three years old and I thought that repair should be under warranty and, after checking by the tech. it was. That's where everything went south. The TCA tech gave incorrect error codes to the manufacturer, which caused them to ask for futher verification. He also told me that it would take over a week to even ship replacement parts. In response to that (during Texas 98 degree weather with no A/C). I asked him to give me an estimate for replacement parts as well, trying to keep my options open. Tech, in conjuction with the owner, decided that the verification process was too difficult and decided to only give me an estimate for purchase & replacement of warrantied parts, along with labor for 3k. OR I could replace the entire system for 9.5k. I told him that a previous A/C co., who notified me when they looked at the system that they didn't repair this manufactureer and suggested that they thought that the compressor board needed to be replaced BECAUSE OF THE ERROR CODE, but THAT co. didn't charge me.
I assumed that the TCA tech. would be able to check that information since they told me they told me they were familiar with the brand prior to coming out to diagnose it. Apparently, they think they would have relied on that comment instead of charging me $449. 98 to diagnose it themselves.
This did not ring true for me, so I had my son-in-law call the manufacturer with the proper error codes and they voluntarily offered to mail a replacement part under warranty. Cost $0.
Cost from TCA to improperly"diagnose" $449.98.
STAY AWAY, FAR AWAY! -
They sent a tech out promptly on the day I called. He was able to get our AC working again in no time. Even though the issue was a quick fix, the tech still took the time to verify everything was functioning within spec. He also took the time to explain the steps he was taking, which I really appreciated.

Very happy! Our home is only 8 years old. So it was a surprise when the a/c went out. The original installers wanted close to $20k to replace the ENTIRE system. Mark came highly recommended and said all we needed was a new coil. We also opted to add a 4 inch filter. His price was reasonable, they ordered the parts and installed them 3 days later. The workers were respectful of our property, and did a clean installation in our tiny attic. So nice to find a professional company that wasn't trying to pressure me into buying more than I need.

UPDATE:
The people at TCA did contact me via text and sincerely apologized for the issues I had and offered a full refund. The apology itself was very sincere and very much appreciated. I respect that not only did they completely take responsibility and owned up to the mistakes and issues, which is EXTREMELY rare nowadays, but followed up by offering the complete refund. They also promised to do further internal changes to reduce the chances of this happening in the future.
As I had told the woman over the phone during this time, the way they conducted themselves in regards to taking full responsibility, I would consider trying them again if the need arises simply because it's just so rare to find a business that owns it, fixes the problem and attempts to earn your repeat business instead of doubling down on their faults by claiming they did nothing wrong. So I will consider using Texas Comfort Air again. However, until then, I have bumped my rating up 1 star and hopefully the next time is much better and I will update from there.
ORIGINAL POST:
AC went out on our system and I contacted Texas Comfort Air since they were the ones to install our system in our new home build. The system is about 2 years old and still under warranty. I called their 24/7 number since it went out on a Sunday and I could not get ahold of anyone so I left a couple voicemails. Next day I called in the morning and again, no answer. Called and called and called until finally someone answered at around 10:30am and we got scheduled for a tech to come out same day.
Technician came out, never came inside to check the system, just went straight to the outside unit which I thought was strange since we didn't know what was wrong with it. He spent 20 minutes changing a capacitor and left. Didn't check anything else. The system worked, but it was struggling and took about 8 hours to cool off the house again. I also didn't even get a receipt for the payment or any documentation whatsoever.
Following Sunday, the AC went out AGAIN! I ended up calling another company (Champion AC) since the warranty is under the manufacturer, and they came out, took photos, checked everything and found a refrigerant leak and it was really low on refrigerant, hence the system struggling. They installed the new part, recharged the system, TESTED the system and now it's working good as new. They sent documentation, photos and videos of the problem and what they tested too. Night and day difference.
So Texas Comfort Air didn't check anything and just replaced a part without making sure anything actually worked. They don't fix the problem, they just make a quick buck and leave. It seems very disorganized, especially in comparison to a MUCH better company in Champion AC. The people are courteous and all, which is why I'm giving 2 stars, but the service and price as a whole is terrible. -
Extremely professional very thorough. Have needed services for both home and commercial exceeded all expectations.
-
From start to finish, Texas Comfort Air did a great job with our air conditioning. They answered all of our questions and were always responsive when we reached out. There were a couple of issues after the install, but the team made sure everything worked as it should. We've had our AC for a hear now and are very happy with their service.
-
I highly recommend Texas Comfort Air. They replaced my AC compressor quickly at a fair price. The tech stayed late to make sure I had cool air that night. They were professional, reliable, and true to their word.
-
The technician was friendly and knowledgeable. He replaced one part in the outside unit, and offered several additional services. The cost was more than expected.

These guys are great!! Great technicians. Professional. Efficient. They put in 2 new heat/AC units for us in 2022 ...plus 2 Ecobee thermostats which we love. . We had some issues last week with the heat. They were here quickly. Fixed the problem, AND they did the annual system check while they were here. Strongly recommend Texas Comfort Air.
-
great service. We had to have 2 full systems installed in our home and their team was able to do both in 1 day. Highly recommend this company. Definitely have a long time customer with us.

TCA consistently goes above and beyond—not just to fix the problem, but to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Unlike some companies that seem to profit from repeat repairs, TCA takes the initiative to find lasting solutions. They even advocate on your behalf with the manufacturer to address the root cause and prevent future issues. Their integrity and dedication truly set them apart.

AC went out on our system and I contacted Texas Comfort Air since they were the ones to install our system in our new home build on a weekend and was told 294 + additional 100$ for on-call over weekend for servicing.
The system is about 2 years old and still under warranty. I called their 24/7 number since it went out on a Sunday and we got scheduled for a tech to come out same day.
Technician came out, He spent about more than 1 hr checking the gauge and capacitor and cleaning the outside system with pressure washer. He kept checking the temperature with a gun all over the vents and they were fine. He went in to the attic and tested out the damper that was closed and had a loose wiring. He reattached the wire and had still no luck with cooling.
He checked if the open/close valve (orange color) around left damper was working to the set ventillation time and it did work as expected.
He finally checked the damper but without opening from outsidr and told me that the valve was working but the damper itself inside wasn’t flapping into open and close positions by checking from outside placing a hand over the cover and placed in an replacement order for a new damper since he didnot have one on hand and didnot want to open it it would long time to check. I also asked if there was a filter in the unit (in attic) and he told that my model didnot have one.
Following day, i called in for the estimate on damper that was in warranty and was told 1024$ was just the service fee to replace it.
I did reach out to a different company (Fox AC) for 49$ to perform a service check who pretty much did the same process but had to RECLEAN (pressure wash) the outside unit again and ACTUALLY opened a TINY SLIT took less than a minute to open, remove a Filter and took the photos to SHOW me DAMPER was NOT the problem and was WORKING PERFECTLY. The problem indeed was NO component failure but the probably the over freezing which just needed time to adjust and DIDNOT charge me a PENNY.
They showed me photos of what they tested and what could be the probable cause.
So Texas Comfort Air did check few things but since nothing was found assumed the damper failure and just ordered a replacement part without making sure that it actually worked.
They don't fix the problem, they just make a quick buck and leave.
The people are courteous and all, which is why I'm giving 2 stars, but the service and price as a whole is terrible.

Great service, they arrived earlier than schedule, quickly diagnose my issue. The technician was friendly, properly dressed in the company uniform, job well done, thank you!

I can't recommend Texas Comfort Air enough! I stayed with them since the installation on my HVAC in my new build home The team is always professional, punctual (sometimes even way earlier then the window they quote!), and incredibly knowledgeable. Today my AC stopped cooling and not only did they squeeze me in, Mark diagnosed and fixed my AC issue quickly, and even took the time to explain everything in a way I could understand. What really stood out was their honesty and attention to detail—genuine care for getting the job done right. It’s rare these days to find a company that combines great service, fair pricing, and true customer care — but Texas Comfort Air nails it on all fronts. Thank you for going above and beyond!

Twice I needed TCA and both times they sent out a tech, that knew what he was doing very knowledgeable and professional, sure glad that I found out about TCA. Thank You Guys, for being there when I needed you and doing a fast pro repair.

Another contractor, while performing work in my attic around my AC unit, did something that caused my A/C stop working. They were quick to place a service call with Texas Comfort Air and Kyler, dropped what he was doing @ 7pm, and was at my house in less than 30 min and had the repair completed less than 30 min after his arrival. Kyler’s professionalism, knowledge and expertise was on full display during his time at my residence. He diagnosed and repaired my system and had it running in no time. He is a great asset to what is nothing short of a professional organization. Thank you Kyler!!! Rob C.

Communication with Mark was amazing and working with Ryan on getting our A/C unit up to par was exceptional. Highly recommend. We are even having them back this next week to do repairs on our electrical.

Ryan was such a a pleasure to deal with and much appreciated for his ability to quickly diagnose the problem and easily educate me on the process so that I was comfortable with his effort. Very trustworthy individual!
Very happy with my decision to use Texas Comfort Air in my new build construction and in its further maintenance. -
Update 7/22/2022
I had an issue last Sunday with my outdoor unit making a bad, loud noise. I turned it off for 30 minutes and the noise went away.
I made an appointment anyway to get it checked.
The appointment was made for today.
Brandon checked the unit and inspected some components in the house.
He was polite, professional and listened to my concerns.
The office staff was polite and professional.
Hopefully "with the summer heat", all will go well from here on out.
Be safe
I had the spring checkup on my air conditioning system today.
Office staff courteous and notified me the tech was running a little late, which I appreciated.
Jason ,the tech, did a great job which included taking the shroud off from the outside unit and cleaning the coils.
At this point I am very satisfied.
